Jack stood in the center of the training room, his eyes fixed on the figure before him. Daenerys had appointed a trainer to teach him the ways of combat, and Jack was eager to learn.
His trainer, a grizzled old warrior named Ser Barristan, eyed him critically. "You're a big one, aren't you?" he said. "But size isn't everything. Let's see what you're made of."
Ser Barristan drew his sword, a gleaming blade of Valyrian steel. "Come at me," he said. "Show me what you've got."
Jack charged forward, his fists flying. But Ser Barristan was a seasoned warrior, and he easily dodged Jack's clumsy blows.
"Not bad," Ser Barristan said, "but you're telegraphing your moves. You need to be faster, more agile."
Jack nodded, taking Ser Barristan's words to heart. He focused on his footwork, his hand-eye coordination. He practiced his swordplay, his dagger work.
Days turned into weeks, and Jack's skills improved dramatically. He was a natural fighter, and Ser Barristan was impressed.
"You're a quick learner," Ser Barristan said. "But there's more to being a warrior than just fighting. You need to understand strategy, tactics. You need to know how to think on your feet."
Jack nodded, eager to learn. Ser Barristan began to teach him the art of war, showing him how to outmaneuver his opponents, how to use the terrain to his advantage.
As the weeks turned into months, Jack became a formidable fighter. He was strong, fast, and agile. He was a force to be reckoned with.
And Daenerys took notice.
"Jack, you're progressing well," she said. "But there's still much for you to learn. I want you to accompany me on a mission to the Riverlands. We'll be meeting with the Lords of the Trident, and I need someone with your... particular skills."
Jack nodded, eager to prove himself. He knew that this was his chance to show Daenerys what he was capable of.
And so, he set off with Daenerys and her entourage, bound for the Riverlands. He was ready for whatever lay ahead, his sword at his side and his wits about him.
The darkness was gathering, and Jack was ready to face it head-on.
