Chapter 2 - Your husband is a poor guy

Daisy's heart trembled and her face turned pale at the sight of her newlywed husband, Steven. He was a Wilson Family bodyguard with extraordinary skills, and could take on ten opponents at once. He had even broken the neck of a cheetah with his bare hands, making him a terrifying man.

Uncle Gavin admired him and had even arranged for him to be Joseph's assistant to learn how to manage the company. The Wilson Family had married her off to Steven on hopes of recruiting him to work for them.

Joseph was caught off guard by Steven's sudden appearance and stammered,"St..Steven you..."

"President Harris, the boss asked me to give you a message", Steven interrupted in a calm and indifferent tone, as if he hadn't noticed the two of them. "A major client is coming next month to discuss cooperation. Make sure you receive them properly." He then bent down and placed a high-end private club's business card on the table.

Joseph regained his composure and sneered at Steven's actions," So what of you're powerful? You're just a dog raised by the Wilson Family."

Impatiently, he ordered," Get out and close the door"

Steven stared at him coldly without moving.

Joseph frowned in annoyance and pulled out a black card, throwing it at Steven's feet from his high position. "Alright, I know you want money. Assistant Martinez, this card has three million in it, enough to last for thirty years of your salary. Go buy some good wine and find some women to play with. Daisy is mine tonight."

"Joseph, shut up!" Daisy couldn't take it anymore and yelled.

However, Steven only glanced at the card and picked it up without a word.

Daisy was stunned and could hardly believe it.

Joseph sneered and turned to Daisy," You see it too, your husband is just a poor man. Money is more important to him. You will only live a hard life with him. Why not be my woman? I can give you everything except for the title."

Daisy was so angry that her face turned red. She raised her hand and slapped Joseph," Are you that shameless?"

Joseph grabbed her arm and turned to Steven," Get out of here, or I'll fire you tomorrow!"

Then he turned to Daisy and pushed her onto the bed.

Daisy's eyes turned red with anger. She kicked him with all her might, but she was only nineteen and slender, and she couldn't move the heavy man.

At that moment, a cold breath suddenly approached.

Daisy looked up and saw Steven standing by the bed. His handsome face was expressionless, and his slender fingers, wearing black gloves, firmly grasped Joseph's short hair at the back of his head, slowly lifting him up inch by inch.

Joseph's head was pulled back and he screamed in pain.

"Let go, let go!" Steven calmly spoke," President Harris, I'm waiting for you to fire me tomorrow"

Then he pressed down with force.

"Bang!"

Joseph's head hit the sharp corner of the bedside table, blood oozing iut if the gaping wound.

"Ah!"

The scream pierced through the ceiling.

Steven remained unfazed as he tightly gripped Joseph's hair with his slender fingers, repeatedly slamming his bead onto the bedside table. No matter how much Joseph struggled, Steven's grip seemed to only get tighter.

The room echoed with the sound of Joseph's head hitting the solid wooden table, along with his agonizing screams.

The smell of blood filled the air.

A few drops of blood splattered onto Steven's handsome face, but he remained expressionless, not bothering to wipe them off.

Daisy was stunned, and couldn't help but shiver in fear when she snapped out of it.

So ruthless... so terrifying...

It wasn't until Joseph could no longer make a sound that Steven stood up straight, casually throwing him to the ground and kicking him aside.

Joseph's face was covered in blood, lying in his back with his eyes rolled back.

Daisy watched in horror, her back damp with sweat. As she lifted her eyes, she met Steven's cold gaze.

As the man walked closer and closer, Daisy was terrified, sitting on the bed and hastily moving backwards.

"Don't...don't come closer..."

But who could tolerate being cuckolded on their wedding night?

How could Steven spare her?

"Ah!"

Daisy's mental defenses crumbled, and she jumped off the bed, trying to escape.

But as soon as her foot touched the ground, her ankle twisted and a sharp pain shot through her body. She groaned in pain, lost her balance and fell to the side.

The next second, a strong arm wrapped around her waist and lifted her up. Daisy looked up in panic and saw Steven's cold face in front of her, her mind going blank.

"Your foot is twisted. If you move around, it will swell" He said in a low voice, then bent down and carried her in his arms, walking towards the door.

Daisy was stiff in his arms, completely shocked.

Wasn't he here to catch her cheating?

Daisy was extremely panicked, curled up in Steven's arms, with countless terrifying thoughts running through her mind.

Was he going to throw her directly from the building?

Or was he planning to kill her later?

Being held by Steven who still had blood on him, made Daisy extremely scared. Her fingers clung tightly to his collar, unable to move.

The man looked down at her, his black eyes flickering slightly. He silently lifted his arms around her waist and knees, and Daisy's grip on his collar loosened, falling perfectly on his shoulder.

The man's broad chest and sturdy shoulders gave her a great sense of security. The scent of mint emanating from his neck, along with his body temperature, was warm and refreshing.

Daisy was forced to hold on to his neck and remained stunned for several seconds before a blush gradually appeared on her cheeks.

Did he purposely adjust his position to make her more comfortable?

Is he not planning to physically hurt or scoldher?

Daisy's emotions were complicated and she couldn't find the words to say.

Two black-clad bodyguards were standing outside the door, and they respectfully greeted Steven when they saw him.

Steven flicked the black card and ordered them in a cold voice,"Open a bottle of wine, find a few women and feed these three million to President Harris"

Joseph, who just regained consciousness on the ground, shuddered in fear on hearing this.

Damn it!

That was a gold-plated card, extremely hard. If it was shoved into his stomach, he would definitely get a perforated stomach.

"Steven, have you gone mad? How dare you do this to me?!" Joseph screamed in terror. "Don't forget that I'm your superior. Tomorrow, I'll fire you and kick you out of the company"

Steven didn't even bother to respond and strode into the elevator.

***

Half an hour later,

The taxi stopped next to the Wilson Family manor.

Steven carried Daisy out of the car and strode towards a small house next to the mansion, kicking open the wooden door.

The small house was very old and dilapidated, in stark contrast to the magnificent Wilson Family mansion next to it.

This used to be the residence of the Wilson Family servants, but now Steven lives here alone. Daisy didn't dare to speak up, afraid that Steven would do something to her.
