As Kaito checked his status window, a notification from God appeared:
"I have given you some unique abilities and greatly enhanced your body. I've also added a few other perks, but I won't tell you what they are—you'll have to discover them yourself. Ah, one more thing: this status window is unique to you. No one else has it. You can learn any magic or swordsmanship by simply witnessing it once and even upgrade it beyond its limits."
With that, the message ended, leaving Kaito eager to explore his newfound abilities. Just as he was about to experiment, he heard the sound of an approaching carriage. The vehicle slowed to a stop beside him, and a middle-aged man stepped down.
"Are you heading to town? I can give you a lift," the man offered kindly.
Kaito appreciated the gesture and accepted. Fortunately, God had provided him with some money to cover his initial expenses. As the carriage moved, the man introduced himself as a merchant and asked for Kaito's name and origins.
"My name is Kaito," he responded. "I got lost while traveling and was heading to the nearest town."
He couldn't exactly reveal that he was from another world, so he kept his explanation vague. The merchant didn't probe further and simply nodded. Before long, they arrived at a bustling city named Velthrim. The streets were lively, filled with merchants advertising their goods, adventurers discussing their latest quests, and townsfolk going about their daily lives.
"If you're looking for a place to stay, I recommend the Silver Hearth Inn. It's reasonably priced and provides good meals," the merchant advised.
"Thank you for the help," Kaito said as they parted ways.
Following the merchant's recommendation, Kaito made his way to the Silver Hearth Inn. Upon entering, he approached the reception desk where a young woman greeted him.
"Welcome! Would you like to book a room?" she asked with a polite smile.
"Yes. Do you have any available rooms?"
"We do. How long will you be staying?"
Kaito thought for a moment before responding, "I'm not sure yet, but I'll book a room for three weeks, including meals."
"That will be one small silver and nine coppers," the receptionist informed him.
Kaito handed over the money and received his room key. His assigned room was modest but comfortable, featuring a bed, a chair, and a small window overlooking the street below.
As he settled in, he recalled the world's currency system:
10 Small Copper = 1 Copper
10 Copper = 1 Small Silver
10 Small Silver = 1 Gold
Realizing that his funds wouldn't last forever, Kaito decided to look for a job. He stepped outside and began wandering through the city when he stumbled upon a commotion in a nearby alley.
A group of men had cornered two young girls, their expressions filled with fear. It was clear they were in trouble.
Kaito's grip tightened.
"Tch. Looks like I've found my first problem in this world…"
