Lilia stood in the middle of the room, a confident smile on her face as she began explaining the fundamental aspects of magic.
"Magic is the way we manipulate the elements," she said, her voice steady. "There are seven primary elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, and Dark. Then there's Non-Elemental magic, which doesn't belong to any of these categories but allows the user to bend nature's laws in unique ways."
Kaito listened intently, absorbing every word. This was the kind of knowledge he had been waiting for ever since he arrived in this world.
Lilia continued, "Most people have an affinity for one or two elements at most. Having three is considered extremely rare. I myself have an affinity for three elements." She puffed out her chest proudly. "And my sister, Amelia, has Non-Elemental magic that allows her to power up, increasing her strength and speed."
Hearing this, Kaito couldn't help but ask, "Is there a way to check one's affinities?"
Lilia nodded. "Yes, there is." She turned and left the room, saying, "I'll bring something to test yours. Wait here."
The moment she left, Kaito acted. He secretly opened his status window, and a notification popped up before him:
[Notification: You have learned Water Magic, Close-Range Hand-to-Hand Combat, and Basic Swordsmanship.]
Curious, he tapped on Water Magic. A new option appeared: [Upgrade]. He pressed it, and it instantly maxed out. Excited, he did the same for his Swordsmanship, upgrading it to Knight Rank, and then for Hand-to-Hand Combat, reaching the same level.
Just as he was about to explore further, another notification appeared:
[Notification: You have acquired knowledge of the elements. You can now use them freely.]
His heart raced with excitement. Without hesitation, he opened his programming screen, ready to create something useful. However, before he could proceed, Lilia returned, carrying seven small, glowing stones. Each emitted a faint aura, resonating with their respective elements.
She placed them on the table and gestured for Kaito to come closer. "These are elemental magic stones. Each one represents an element: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, Dark, and Non-Elemental magic. By channeling your mana into them one by one, we can determine your affinities."
Kaito nodded and stepped forward, reaching out to the Water stone first. As soon as he placed his hand on it and focused, the stone began to glow brightly.
Lilia's eyes widened slightly. "Water affinity confirmed."
Next, he touched the Wind stone. It shined just as brightly.
"Wind affinity too..." Lilia murmured, glancing at Amelia, who was now watching with curiosity.
Moving on, Kaito touched the Fire stone. Again, it glowed intensely.
"Three elements? That's just as rare as mine!" Lilia exclaimed.
However, Kaito didn't stop. He proceeded to the Earth stone. The glow was just as strong. Lilia and Amelia gasped.
"Four elements... that's unheard of," Amelia whispered.
Kaito then placed his hand on the Light stone. The room was momentarily illuminated by its radiance.
"Five...!" Lilia took a step back in shock.
Still not done, Kaito touched the Dark stone. A deep, dark glow emanated from it.
"Six elements? How is this possible?!" Amelia's voice trembled slightly.
Finally, Kaito reached for the Non-Elemental stone. The moment he channeled his mana into it, the stone shined the brightest of them all, pulsating with an overwhelming energy. The entire room was bathed in a dazzling, ethereal glow.
Lilia and Amelia were frozen in shock.
Amelia was the first to break the silence. "Just who... are you? Using every elemental magic is unheard of!"
Kaito looked at them, unsure how to respond. He had no idea what made him different, but one thing was certain—his abilities in this world defied all logic.
Lilia shook her head in disbelief. "I've never read about this in any book. Even the greatest mages in history could only use up to four elements at most!"
Amelia took a deep breath, regaining her composure. "If you really have all seven affinities, then that makes you... something completely beyond normal."
Kaito scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "Uh... so what does this mean exactly?"
Lilia hesitated before answering, "It means you have limitless potential. You can cast any magic without restriction. If trained properly, you could surpass even the greatest archmages."
Amelia stepped forward. "You need to keep this a secret, Kaito. If others find out about your abilities, you might be targeted. This kind of power will make people afraid or greedy."
Kaito nodded. "Understood."
Lilia crossed her arms. "Alright, first things first. We need to start training you immediately. You might have talent, but talent without discipline is useless."
Amelia smirked. "Lilia is right. With your affinities, you'll have to work twice as hard."
Kaito chuckled nervously. "I have a feeling I'm in for some intense training..."
Both sisters nodded in unison.
Lilia smiled. "Let's see what you're truly capable of, Kaito. From now on, you're going to learn what it means to be a true mage!"
Kaito sighed but couldn't hide his excitement. His journey in magic had only just begun.
