Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 - New People

The air inside the house was warm, carrying the faint scent of lavender and something freshly backed. It was comforting, but the three boys standing in the doorway were still hesitant. Their new home loomed before them, unfamiliar yet promising. The triplets—Izuku, Katsuki, and Minoru—took their first steps inside, the weight of their afterhock still pressing on their shoulders.

Shouta followed in behind them, his sharp eyes flickering with quiet observation. He knew they were wary, and he didn't blame them. Adjusting would take time.

"Kids!" Hizashi's voice rang through the house, loud and cheerful as ever.

Heavy footsteps pounded from upstairs, rushing toward them. Hizashi, sensing the triplets' unease, gently urged them further into the house.

Izuku, Katsuki, and Minoru exchanged quick glances, each processing the situation differently. Though they were relieved to be free from Inko, their mother-turned-monster, they weren't naive. The world was still full of dangers—people like her, people worse than her. Their guard would remain up, at least for now.

The living room was spacious, the couches arranged neatly, books stacked on shelves, and walls adorned with photos—memories they had yet to become a part of. Their eyes locked onto the five individuals waiting inside. Four were about their age, while the last was a tiny girl, barely a year old, resting against a plush pillow.

"These are your new siblings," Hizashi announced with a grin. "Denki, Fumikage, Shoto, and Yuua. And last but definitely not least, our little girl, Eri."

The triplets lifted their hands in a timid wave, studying their new siblings as if they were an unsolved puzzle.

Shouta, ever the observer, noticed how the four older boys wanted to approach the newcomers but hesitated. He decided to give them a nudge. "They don't talk much, but that doesn't mean you can't try."

That was all the encouragement they needed.

The boys moved closer, beginning to talk with the triplets, finding small connections as they spoke about hobbies and interests. Meanwhile, Shouta scooped Eri into his arms and carried her upstairs. It was her bedtime, and the last thing he wanted was for her to be overwhelmed on top of exhausted.

"I love drawing," Denki said, grinning as he showed off a small notebook filled with sketches.

To say they were getting along well would be an understatement. The triplets found an unexpected comfort in their presence.

"We do too," Minoru said, his voice a little more confident now. "But I love cooking the most."

"I like writing," Izuku added.

"And I love boxing," Katsuki smirked.

That caught Fumikage's attention. "You box?"

"Yeah. You do too?"

Fumikage gave a small nod. "I do. Maybe we could train together sometime."

Katsuki's grin widened. "That sounds awesome."

"But where would you guys even train?" Shoto asked, leaning forward slightly.

The triplets hesitated. They shared a silent conversation between glances before Izuku finally spoke up.

"Well, we have a place," he admitted. "Somewhere we consider home."

He didn't finish the thought. An idea struck him, excitement surging through him like electricity. His red hair flared slightly, a sign of his emotions slipping out.

Without a second thought, he grabbed Katsuki's hand, who instinctively grabbed Minoru's. Minoru, catching on, reached for Shoto's hand, and so on. Soon, all of them were linked together, trailing behind Izuku as he dashed toward the kitchen.

"Popa!" he called, nearly colliding with Shouta, who was tending to the stove.

Shouta tensed but quickly relaxed. He turned, arching a brow at the triplets and the boys behind them. He was still getting used to hearing them call him that, but he couldn't deny how much he loved it.

"Yes, Izuku?"

"Can we all talk in the living room?" Izuku asked, practically bouncing on the balls of his feet.

Shouta, already sensing that this would be a long conversation, turned the stove to low and called for Hizashi to join them.

Once everyone was seated, Izuku turned to his brothers. They had already talked about this among themselves, and they knew this was the best time to bring it up.

"Well, Popa, Papa... we wanted to tell you something," Izuku began cautiously.

Shouta and Hizashi both nodded, signaling for him to continue.

"As you both know..."

"We are omegas."

Everyone nodded in understanding. That wasn't news. But the triplets weren't finished.

"Well…"

"We already…"

"Have alphas."

Silence.

Complete and utter silence.

Shouta and Hizashi were frozen, stunned beyond words. Their older children looked equally as shocked, though perhaps not for the same reasons.

Shouta finally found his voice. "You're fourteen."

Izuku flunked slightly. "But—"

"No. I know what you're about to say, and the answer is no," Shouta interrupted. "You wouldn't be telling us this if it wasn't important, but that doesn't change the fact that you're still kids."

He moved to stand, only for Hizashi to gently grip his arm, stopping him. "Let's just hear them out, Shou."

Shouta exhaled sharply through his nose before reluctantly nodding. "Fine."

Katsuki, ever the bold one, spoke next. "They don't live where we're talking about. They visit us sometimes, but they don't stay. The place we're talking about... it's more than just a hideout. It's a home."

Izuku nodded, eyes gleaming with hope. "It's big, really big. We could all live there, and there would still be enough space for more. Even if we wanted to bring animals—big ones, wild ones—we could."

Minoru stepped closer, his white hair flowing behind him as he reached for their hands. His voice was soft but firm. "We want all of you to live there with us. We hid there when we had no one else. It was our safe place. But now you're our family. And we don't want to lose that."

Shouta inhaled deeply, closing his eyes as he mulled it over. He already knew Minoru would be the one to break him first.

Finally, he exhaled. "Fine… Fine. Pack up tonight. We leave tomorrow afternoon."

The triplets barely had time to register his words before their new brothers cheered, racing upstairs to start packing.

Shouta, exhausted but amused, leaned against Hizashi, who smiled knowingly.

"What do you think about all this?" Shouta murmured.

Hizashi glanced toward the stairs, then back at his husband. "Honest opinion?"

Shouta nodded.

"They act exactly like you did in high school."

A long pause. Then, finally, Shouta sighed.

"I noticed that too."
