"I got it, Senior."
Luo Ye said seriously.
He immediately began to get busy, chopping and slicing vegetables, putting unnecessary items into the fridge, and then realizing there was barely enough space left.
If someone didn't know better, they might think it was New Year's at his place.
In his eagerness to impress, he had bought too much.
Now he realized that when pursuing a girl, you can't rush things; you need to take it slow and steady.
Speaking of which, when should he confess to Senior?
Luo Ye started thinking seriously about this.
"Junior."
From the kitchen, Su Baizhou poked her head out with a spoon in hand. "Come help me."
"Coming, Senior."
Luo Ye's thoughts were immediately interrupted, and he quickly walked over to the kitchen.
Before long, dinner was ready.
Since there were only two of them, Su Baizhou didn't make much food.
However, she had already figured out how to handle all the ingredients Luo Ye bought.
She planned to make bento boxes so the meat and seafood wouldn't spoil too quickly. She would then store them and have Luo Ye take them to his roommates when school resumed in a few days.
Otherwise, there was no way they could eat all that food, and the fresh ingredients would spoil in just a couple of days.
After dinner, Su Baizhou sat on the sofa watching TV, while Luo Ye went to the kitchen to wash the dishes.
Once done, he joined her on the sofa.
They sat at opposite ends of the couch, both staring at the TV, though neither of their minds were on it.
After a long silence, Su Baizhou asked, "Is your family very rich?"
Luo Ye froze for a moment.
She must be asking because of the food tonight.
He scratched his head and answered, "I have a part-time job, so I've earned a bit."
Su Baizhou didn't ask further and just said, "Next time, don't buy anything that expensive."
"I got it, Senior."
Soon, it was late. Su Baizhou stood up.
"Let's sleep."
"Okay."
The two of them returned to their respective rooms.
Luo Ye's room didn't have a blanket, but the weather in early October was warm enough that he didn't need one.
He took out his phone and started writing.
Meanwhile, Su Baizhou was working on a computer-related part-time job in her room.
Two hours later, Luo Ye finished writing 4,000 words. He stretched, then looked at the time: 12:30 AM.
He quietly opened his room door and peeked out into the dark living room.
The bathroom light was on, and he could see a graceful figure taking a shower.
Luo Ye quietly closed the door, his heart pounding in his chest.
Why was Senior showering at this hour?
He knew that Senior had irregular sleeping habits, but he hadn't expected her to be showering so late.
But thinking about it, when Luo Ye was in the living room, Su Baizhou couldn't have showered, so she must've waited until she thought he was asleep before coming out.
But Luo Ye hadn't fallen asleep. He had been typing on his phone, so there was no noise.
The room was completely silent, except for the sound of water flowing from the bathroom, echoing through the living room.
Luo Ye sat at his desk, distractedly scrolling through short videos.
In the new student group chat, the rich kid was still trying to show off. He posted a picture of his luxury car and asked for advice on parking.
In five sentences, he managed to @唐恩琪 (Tang Enqi), as if he were particularly interested in the freshman campus beauty.
This rich kid, named Gao Yuming, was one of the three biggest figures among the freshmen.
The other two were Shen Qiao, the handsome freshman campus heartthrob, and Tang Enqi, the freshman campus goddess.
Although there were other wealthy students, Gao Yuming was the only one who constantly flaunted his wealth.
Luo Ye spent his time watching the flashy posts in the new student group.
Soon, the sound of water stopped.
Su Baizhou came out of the bathroom wearing sleepwear and returned to her room.
The main bedroom light was still on, indicating that Senior was still working.
Luo Ye quietly slipped out of his room and went to the bathroom.
The air in the bathroom was thick with the familiar fragrance of Senior.
Luo Ye quickly finished using the bathroom and returned to his room.
Although they were living under the same roof, Luo Ye still chose to send a message to Senior.
"Sleep early, Senior."
When Su Baizhou's phone received the message, she stared at it, her gaze a little distracted.
She glanced at the computer in front of her. The part-time job she was working on was only 70% complete, and it would take at least another hour to finish.
Normally, during the holidays, Su Baizhou wouldn't be this busy, but she had something to do the next day, so she was staying up late to get things done.
The next day, she planned to keep her schedule clear.
At 2:00 AM, Su Baizhou stretched and prepared to sleep.
When she saw that the light in Senior's room had finally gone out, Luo Ye climbed into bed and closed his eyes to sleep.
The next day, at 8:00 AM,
Luo Ye opened his eyes.
He changed clothes and got ready to wash up.
When he left his room, he was surprised to find a neatly arranged breakfast on the table.
There was a steamer of dumplings, two pieces of fried dough sticks, two cups of soy milk, and two tea eggs.
Su Baizhou was sitting at the table, waiting for Luo Ye to wake up.
Luo Ye went to the bathroom, only to realize there was no toothpaste or even a towel. He had no choice but to go back and sit across from Senior.
Seeing that Luo Ye looked a bit sluggish, Su Baizhou asked faintly, "Do you feel like this every day?"
"It's fine. After staying up late for a while, I'm always tired in the morning."
Luo Ye yawned and then shoved a dumpling into his mouth.
After finishing one, Luo Ye asked in confusion, "Senior, when did you buy breakfast?"
Su Baizhou, wearing black loose clothes with slightly damp hair as if she had just finished a workout, looked like the Senior he had seen on the sports field that day.
"I went for a morning run and bought breakfast on my way back."
Su Baizhou rested her chin on her hand, staring intently at Luo Ye, almost as if expecting something.
Luo Ye felt a little embarrassed by her gaze, lowering his head and eating silently.
For some reason, Su Baizhou really liked watching Luo Ye eat.
When he was eating, he looked so cute, as if all his attention was focused on the food.
Meanwhile, Luo Ye was silently thinking to himself that he needed to start exercising like Senior every morning so that he wouldn't have health problems when he got older.
Of course, it wasn't just because he wanted to run with the beautiful Senior every day.
