Chapter 13 - Chapter thirteen: BETRAYAL

Scarlett thought she had finally found happiness with Bastian. They had worked through their issues, and he had promised to never hurt her again. But as the days went by, Scarlett started to notice that Bastian was acting strange. He would receive mysterious texts, and he would often leave the house without explaining where he was going.

At first, Scarlett tried to brush it off as paranoia. But as the days turned into weeks, she couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off.

One night, Scarlett decided to follow Bastian. She trailed behind him, her heart pounding in her chest. Where was he going?

As she followed him, Scarlett's worst fears were confirmed. Bastian led her to a seedy motel on the outskirts of town, and Scarlett watched in horror as he entered a room with another woman.

Scarlett felt like she had been punched in the gut. She couldn't believe that Bastian would cheat on her again. She thought they had worked through their issues, but it seemed like Bastian was still the same old Bastian.

As Scarlett turned to leave, she felt a sense of anger and betrayal. She was done with Bastian, done with his lies and his cheating. She deserved better.

Scarlett's world came crashing down as she watched Bastian enter the motel room with another woman. Her mind reeling with shock and anger.

How could he do this to her again? Hadn't he promised to never hurt her?

Scarlett's anger boiled over, and she marched towards the motel room, determined to confront Bastian. She burst through the door, her eyes blazing with fury.

Bastian and the woman were caught off guard, their faces frozen in shock. "Scarlett, I-" Bastian started, but Scarlett cut him off.

"Don't even try to explain," Scarlett spat, her voice venomous. "I saw everything. You're still the same old Bastian, aren't you? You'll never change."

The woman, realizing the situation, quickly gathered her things and made a hasty exit. Bastian, however, tried to defend himself.

"Scarlett, please listen-" he started, but Scarlett wasn't having it.

"No, you listen," Scarlett said, her voice cold and detached. "I deserve better than someone who constantly cheats on me. I deserve better than you."

Bastian's face fell, and for a moment, Scarlett saw a glimmer of remorse. But it was too little, too late.

"I'm done with you, Bastian," Scarlett said, turning to leave. "I'm done with your lies, your cheating, and your empty promises. I deserve better, and I'm going to find it."

Scarlett walked out of the motel room, feeling a mix of emotions. She was angry, hurt, and relieved all at once. She knew she had made the right decision, but it still stung.

As she walked back to her car, Scarlett couldn't help but think about how far she had come. She had given Bastian chance after chance, and he had consistently broken her trust. But she had finally found the strength to walk away.

Scarlett got into her car and started the engine. She took a deep breath, feeling a sense of calm wash over her. She knew she still had a long way to go, but she was ready to face whatever came next.

As she drove away from the motel, Scarlett felt a sense of freedom she hadn't felt in a long time. She was finally free from Bastian's toxic grasp, and she was ready to start anew.

Little did Scarlett know, her newfound freedom was just the beginning of a new chapter in her life. A chapter that would bring her joy, heartbreak, and ultimately, true love.

Meanwhile, Calix was watching Scarlett from afar. He had seen her walk out of the motel room, her head held high. He had seen the determination in her eyes, and he knew she was finally free from Bastian's grasp.

Calix couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, Scarlett was ready to move on. Maybe she was ready to see him in a new light.

Calix smiled to himself, feeling a sense of excitement. He knew he still had a long way to go, but he was willing to wait. He was willing to do whatever it took to make Scarlett happy.

And as Scarlett drove away from the motel, Calix couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. What would the future hold for him and Scarlett? Only time would tell.
