Chapter 18 - Chapter eighteen: NEW BEGINNINGS

The day of their graduation finally arrived, and Scarlett felt a mix of emotions as she walked off the stage with her diploma in hand. She was excited for the new chapter of her life, but also sad to be leaving behind the familiar routine of college.

As she scanned the crowd, her eyes landed on Calix, who was beaming with pride as he watched her. She smiled, feeling a sense of joy and love wash over her.

After the ceremony, they met up with their friends and family to take photos and celebrate. Scarlett's mom was over the moon with pride, and her dad was grinning from ear to ear.

As they took a photo together, Calix turned to Scarlett and whispered, "I have one more surprise for you."

Scarlett's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "What is it?" she asked.

Calix smiled mischievously. "You'll see," he said.

After the celebration, Calix took Scarlett to a beautiful park overlooking the city. They walked hand in hand, enjoying the warm sunshine and the sound of birds chirping.

As they reached the top of the hill, Calix stopped and turned to Scarlett. "From the moment I met you, I knew that you were special," he said, his eyes locked onto hers. "I want to spend the rest of my life making you happy."

Scarlett's heart swelled with emotion as Calix pulled out a small box and got down on one knee.

"Scarlett, will you marry me?" he asked, his voice trembling with emotion.

Tears of joy streaming down her face, Scarlett nodded eagerly. "Yes, yes, a million times yes!" she exclaimed.

As Calix slid the ring onto her finger, Scarlett felt a sense of joy and happiness wash over her. She knew that this was just the beginning of their new life together.

As they hugged and kissed, Scarlett couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for their future together. They spent the rest of the day basking in the glow of their engagement, taking photos and calling their friends and family to share the news.

As the sun began to set, Calix took Scarlett's hand and led her to a beautiful restaurant overlooking the city. They sat down at a cozy table by the window, and Calix ordered a bottle of champagne to celebrate.

As they sipped their champagne and enjoyed their meal, Scarlett couldn't help but feel grateful for the journey that had brought them to this moment. From their chance encounter in college to their whirlwind romance, it had been a wild and unpredictable ride.

But as she looked into Calix's eyes, Scarlett knew that it had all been worth it. She had found her soulmate, her partner in every sense of the word.

As they finished their meal and prepared to leave, Calix reached across the table and took Scarlett's hand. "I have one more surprise for you," he said, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

Scarlett's heart skipped a beat as she wondered what he had planned. "What is it?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Calix smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "You'll see," he said, pulling her out of the restaurant and into the cool night air.

As they walked hand in hand through the city streets, Scarlett felt a sense of excitement and anticipation building inside her. She had no idea what Calix had planned, but she knew that it was going to be an adventure.

As they walked, the city lights twinkling around them, Scarlett couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder. She had no idea what Calix had planned, but she knew that it was going to be special.

They turned a corner, and suddenly Scarlett saw it: a beautiful horse-drawn carriage, waiting for them by the side of the road. The carriage was adorned with flowers and ribbons, and the horse was gleaming in the moonlight.

Scarlett's eyes widened in surprise. "Calix, this is amazing!" she exclaimed.

Calix smiled, his eyes shining with happiness. "I wanted to make this night special," he said. "I wanted to make it a night you'll never forget."

Scarlett's heart swelled with emotion. She knew that she would never forget this night, this moment, as long as she lived.

Calix helped her into the carriage, and they settled in for a romantic ride through the city. The horse's hooves clip-clopped on the pavement, and the carriage swayed gently from side to side.

As they rode, Calix took Scarlett's hand, his fingers intertwining with hers. They sat in comfortable silence, watching the city lights twinkle around them.

Scarlett felt a deep sense of happiness and contentment. She knew that she was exactly where she was meant to be: with Calix, the love of her life.

As they rode through the city, the carriage eventually made its way to a beautiful lakefront area. The moon was shining brightly overhead, casting a silver glow over the water.

Calix helped Scarlett out of the carriage, and they walked hand in hand along the lake's edge. The sound of the water lapping against the shore was soothing, and Scarlett felt her heart fill with peace and happiness.

They walked for a while, enjoying the tranquility of the moment. Then, Calix stopped and turned to Scarlett.

"I have one more thing to show you," he said, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

Scarlett's curiosity was piqued. "What is it?" she asked.

Calix smiled,"close your eyes" and then he pulled out a small box from his pocket. Inside the box was a beautiful silver locket, engraved with their names and the date of their engagement.

Scarlett gasped in surprise. "Calix, it's beautiful!" she exclaimed.

Calix smiled, his eyes shining with happiness. "I wanted to give you something special to remember this night by," he said.

Scarlett's heart swelled with emotion. She knew that she would always treasure this locket, this symbol of their love and commitment to each other.

"Thank you, Calix," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Calix smiled, and then he pulled her into a romantic kiss under the stars.
