Chapter 3 - Chapter Three: First Heartbeat

"Look at those Omegas—they're so damn noisy," Henry muttered, glaring at the two Omegas laughing in the cafeteria like they were the only people left in the world.

"But you gotta admit, the one on the left is an eye-catcher. He's cute as fuck. Bet he'd look even cuter beneath me, screaming my name," Zion said, licking his lips with a smirk.

"Dude, that's disgusting. How can you even say that about another man? And an Omega at that? You know how clingy they get once they're exposed to even a little Alpha pheromone. They pretty much turn into slaves, losing all their will because they're consumed by desire," Henry spat, clearly repulsed. To him, Omegas existed for two things: popping babies and submitting to Alphas.

Zion shrugged. "Whatever, man. Not like you'd ever have a chance with him, anyway. I heard he's got a sassy mouth and loves picking fights with Alphas twice his size—and he's never lost. Back in middle school, he fought off a whole group of Alpha kids bullying another Omega. He knocked one kid out cold and told the others he'd cut their dicks off if he ever caught them bullying anyone again."

Henry's jaw clenched as his pride was taking a hit. "You're saying I couldn't handle a lowlife Omega like him?"

Zion smirked. "Unless you forced him, yeah, I don't think you'd stand a chance."

That was enough to make Henry's blood boil. He slammed his hands on the table, releasing dangerous pheromones that made the air around them feel suffocating. The idea that someone thought he couldn't dominate an Omega infuriated him. As far as Henry was concerned, Alphas—especially dominant ones like himself—were at the top of the food chain.

"Enough," Jeakyung's deep voice cut through the tension like a knife.

The moment he spoke, Henry backed down, immediately suppressing his pheromones. Jeakyung's presence alone was enough to put him in check.

Henry pointed a finger at Zion, his pride still wounded. "You. I'll bet you a million dollars I can not only have my way with that Omega, but I'll make him fall in love with me before the end of the school year."

Zion raised an eyebrow. "That's like, seven months, dude."

"Seven months is more than enough," Henry scoffed. "With my looks and money, I could do it in less time if I wanted. No Omega can resist a dominant Alpha like me." Henry replied, pointing at himself.

Zion chuckled, pulling out his phone and showing Henry a picture. "Alright, deal. But if you lose, you'll have to come to school wearing this."

The rest of the group, except Jeakyung and Stephane, burst into laughter when they saw the image.

"Like hell I'm gonna lose!" Henry growled, slamming the table again. "Even if I have to use dirty tricks, there's no way I'm showing up in that. It's embarrassing as fuck."

Zion snickered. "We'll see, man."

"Stephane," Zion said, changing the subject, "you've been awfully quiet ever since that incident with the Omega in math class a couple months ago. What's up?"

Stephane didn't answer, but the question made Jeakyung glance his way.

"Wait… don't tell me you knew him," Zion added, leaning in. "Or maybe you were involved with him. Or worse—you liked him."

Jeakyung's icy glare silenced Zion immediately.

Everyone knew the rule. Jeakyung had made it very clear: messing around with Omegas was fine. Having sex with them? No problem. But getting emotionally involved? Falling in love? That was absolutely forbidden. Anyone who broke the rule wouldn't just be kicked out of their group and banned from school—they'd face Jeakyung's wrath.

Jeakyung's dominance wasn't just a title. Even among dominant Alphas, he was on another level. His pheromones couldn't bring them to their knees like they did with ordinary Alphas, but they were still powerful enough to keep his friends in line.

No one dared challenge him.

"So, is there any Omega at school you're interested in, Jeakyung?" Zion asked casually.

The group froze. Jeakyung didn't answer, but his gaze was fixed on something—or rather, someone.

They followed his line of sight and saw the two Omegas Zion and Henry had been talking about earlier, still laughing and completely oblivious to the attention they were drawing.

"Oooh, Teakyun," Zion teased, "don't tell me you've also got your eyes on that Omega."

Jeakyung finally looked at Zion, his expression unreadable.

"Pak!"

"OW! What the hell? Why'd you hit me?" Zion yelled, rubbing the back of his head where Henry had smacked him.

"Don't say something so ridiculous," Henry said, glaring at him. "As if Teakyun would ever be interested in an Omega. Unlike you, he's got standards."

Zion gave him the middle finger and stuck out his tongue like a child, earning a laugh from Ryan.

Jeakyung ignored the exchange, his attention returning to the two Omegas.

"Back to business," he said, his tone sharp. "Did you find him?"

"Yes," Stephane replied.

Ryan hesitated, fidgeting in his seat. "Do we really have to do this? Maybe he needed the money for an emergency."

Henry rolled his eyes. "We have to. If we let this slide, the lower ranks will think we're weak, and that'll open the door for them to disrespect us further. You don't bite the hand that feeds you."

Jeakyung stood, signaling the end of the conversation. "Everything's set. Tonight, we'll teach the lower ranks a lesson they'll never forget."

The group followed him out of the cafeteria. As Jeakyung walked past the two laughing Omegas, his gaze lingered on them again.

"He's not particularly beautiful," Teakyun thought to himself, referring to one of the two. But there was something about him—something that caught his attention and refused to let go.
