"Ahhh... keep going!" Veronica cried out, her body shuddering beneath Jaekyung.
Jeakyung thrust into her with a relentless pace. His mind wasn't fully there, though—this wasn't about love but pleasure. For the past year, he and Veronica had been engaging in this casual arrangement. To him, it was nothing serious—just a way to pass time. But Veronica had been pushing for more, pestering him to make their relationship official. Jeakyung had made it clear countless times to her: he didn't do relationships and didn't believe in such thing called love.
As he continued to thrust into her, his mind betrayed him. He kept thinking about the conversation he had a few days ago with Rion. His name echoed in his thoughts like a persistent whisper. Rion…
Why couldn't he get that Omega out of his head? He didn't understand it. When Rion had smiled at him, something inside him stirred—a sharp pang in his heart that he couldn't explain. He didn't find Rion particularly beautiful by his standards, but something about him gnawed at his mind.
Jeakyung clenched his jaw, his movements becoming rougher. He's just a lowly Omega. A male Omega at that, the genre he despised the most of all he reminded himself. And yet…
His imagination betrayed him. He pictured Rion in Veronica's place—underneath him, body trembling, lips parted, and eyes hazy with desire. The thought made him grit his teeth in frustration. He shouldn't be thinking this way. He couldn't allow it. With a growl, he yanked Veronica onto his lap, positioning his length in between her entrance. He slammed her down onto his length, making her cry out.
"Ahhh! Jeakyung, please… that hurts!" Veronica whimpered, clawing at his chest. He didn't care. He pounded into her faster, each thrust filled with unspoken anger. He wasn't angry at Veronica—he was angry at himself. Angry at the thoughts invading his mind.
If Rion were here... I'd take him right now. I'd ruin him.
Something had been bothering him for days—each time he touched the Omega, there was a spark of electricity that ignited within him at the contact of their skin. He had felt it the first time they encountered each other in the alleyway and again the second time at school. Also, what was it about the Omega's scent? That scent of his—it was sweet, really sweet, almost addictive.
Ever since he had gotten a taste of that scent, it had become like an addiction. He couldn't get anything done. He hated the fact that anyone, especially a mere Omega, could have such control over him.
Jeakyung clenched his fists as he thrust harder. Ever since he'd gotten a taste of Rion's scent, it had consumed him. He couldn't sleep, couldn't focus. It was maddening. I'll go to the doctor tomorrow. If this keeps up, it'll become a problem, he thought gritting his teeth.
"Ahh," the Alpha groaned as he pushed Veronica, who was still on top of him, onto the bed and stood up. "Aren't you going to stay over? You always leave once we're done," Veronica said to Jeakyung, who was buckling his belt.
"No," he answered in a cold voice. "I already told you many times, Veronica. Nothing serious is ever going to happen between the two of us, so don't even think about it. The only reason I even indulge your presence is because both our fathers are friends. You mean nothing to me, and even if there were to be an arranged marriage between us one day, I would never love you."
"Why, Jeakyung? Can't you see how much I love you? Why can't you love me?" Veronica said, sounding desperate, with tears running down her face. She had been in love with the Alpha since they were kids, but he had never liked her back. She thought he would come to love her with time, but nothing had changed.
"Because in this world, there is no such thing as love," Jeakyung answered, his back turned before walking out of the room without even looking at her.

"What's going on?" Rion asked as he entered the orphanage, noticing a group of children running toward him. "Big brother, there was an accident!" one of the kids cried, his voice trembling. "The bus Leon was on crashed! He's in the hospital right now. It's really bad!"
Rion's eyes widened in panic. "What?!" His heart pounded in his chest. "Why didn't anyone call me?! Why didn't Sister Monica tell me? What hospital is he in?" The questions tumbled out of his mouth, but none of the children could answer. Before he could say more, a voice cut through the air.
"Why do I need to call you? He's not my responsibility," Sister Monica said, her tone cold and dismissive as she approached them with a smile on her face. Rion's fury surged. He pointed a trembling finger at her. "YOU—" he growled, his voice filled with rage. "If something happens to Leon, I swear—"
"Big brother, please!" Another child tugged on Rion's shirt, interrupting him. "I know which hospital he's at. We need to go now!" Rion clenched his fists, swallowing his anger. He scooped up the child and, with a few others following the rushed out the door.
Immediately once they got to the hospital, they ran towards the reception.
"We are looking for Leon Chu. He was admitted today. He was one of the passengers in the bus that crashed this morning," Rion said with tears in his eyes. The receptionist eyed him from head to toe. You could see the disgust and hatred written all over her face. It was nothing new to Rion—most people looked down on Omegas. She probably assumed the kids with him were his and that he had been abandoned by his partner.
"I don't know who that is. Please leave—you're disturbing people," she said coldly. Rion turned to look at the people in the reception area, who were glaring at him and whispering among themselves.
"But... but..." he stuttered, trying to hold back his tears."I said leave!" the receptionist screamed, her voice filled with hatred. She despised Omegas. Her husband had slept with an Omega at work who had gone into heat. Though it had been an accident, the incident led her to believe that all Omegas were whores, undeserving of sympathy.
"What's going on here?" said a doctor who came over to see what was causing the commotion. "Sir, this Omega here is bothering everyone," the receptionist replied, pointing at Rion. "I just want to see my little brother! He was hospitalized here—he was in the bus crash," Rion said as tears streamed down his face.
"Okay, what is his name?" the doctor asked as he pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket and handed it to him, which Rion gladly took. "His name is Leon," Rion said, wiping the tears from his eyes.
"Yes, I remember. There's a young Omega who was brought in today in critical condition." "Yes, yes—please bring me to him, please," Rion said in a shaky voice. "Okay, okay, calm down. I'll bring you to him. Please come this way," the doctor replied as he led the way to Leon's room.
The sight that greeted the omega made his knees buckle. Leon lay on the hospital bed, connected to several machines. A tube helped him breathe, and his small body looked fragile under the sterile lights.
"He suffered a severe concussion," the doctor explained. "He's in a coma. We've intubated him to assist with breathing. If his condition stabilizes, we'll perform surgery to relieve the pressure on his brain." "Please… please save him," Rion sobbed, clutching the doctor's coat. "We'll do everything we can," the doctor assured him. "Let's step into my office to discuss his case."
Rion got back to the orphanage. Once he had put the kids to bed, he immediately headed to his own room. As soon as he closed the door, he broke down into tears.
Why was life so unfair to him? he wondered. The little bit of happiness he had found was about to be snatched away from him. Though Leon wasn't his blood brother, he was like the brother he never had—kind of like Chris. He loved him so much. They had grown up together and been through so much, and now that they had found some kind of happiness, this had to happen. It wasn't perfect, but at least they were happy.
Rion placed both hands on his face. "Hhh…" he exhaled deeply. "No matter what, I am going to save him. But where am I going to find such a huge amount of money?"
Yes, 600, 000 won—that was how much the doctor had told him he would need to pay for Leon to undergo the operation to save his life. "No matter what, I'm going to find the money," Rion said to himself as he wiped the tears from his eyes.
He clenched his fists. He would do whatever it took.
