Chapter 45 - Deception VII

5pm. In a spacious and well-decorated room, there was a white-haired boy; his face was slightly red from embarrassment.

"You stupid girl, you can tell she can't keep her mouth shut."

I had been watching from my room the events: from how the elf girl was spinning like crazy in her bed to how she ran at full speed to her family to tell them what we had talked about. Knowing what they were talking about in the mansion was not that difficult; my vision was no joke; I could easily see behind the walls; if I concentrated enough, I could see even further than any human being could. Another thing to keep in mind was that I already learned to see what was under other people's clothes; it was just a matter of focusing correctly and knowing how to graduate the energy applied to the eyes; with D's help, it didn't take me much effort to master it; now I could easily tell if someone had hidden weapons. The disadvantage of seeing under clothes was that it would temporarily blind me after wearing it for a long time, but I could easily fix the damage with the 'repair' feature.

- HOW WILL WE DEAL WITH INTRUDERS?

D snapped me out of my thoughts; his question weighed on my mind; the topic of intruders was no joke. At first I thought I could kill them easily, but after observing and analyzing them in detail, I found a connection between one of the intruders and Gardolak; that elven girl with black hair and black eyes, which did not seem characteristic of the elven race, had a complicated relationship with that being; well, rather, the demon inside the girl.

"And to think that he almost killed her; luck is on my side."

- IT IS RECOMMENDED TO USE OTHER ALTERNATIVES TO DEAL WITH INTRUDERS.

"Maybe I should lock her in the cube?"

- IT IS A FEASIBLE IDEA.

"Or should I just put her in the library where Gardolak is, and save myself from so much trouble?"

- THAT IDEA HAS SOME FLAWS THAT COULD BE FATAL.

"Well, killing her isn't a viable option."

I could now engage in one-on-one conversation with D; he seemed to be slowly but surely evolving, and I was more than happy with these new changes; in a way it was fun to have someone to talk to all the time.

"I have a feeling things are going to get out of hand."

- ACCORDING TO THE INTRUDERS' THOUGHTS, IT IS A CERTAINTY THAT THEY WILL ATTACK AGAIN.

"I know; and to make matters worse, they come up with countermeasures to deal with me."

The two intruders were cautious; they knew of my existence; they passed through the hallways from time to time; they were trying to observe me and analyze me in case they had the opportunity to kill me; but unfortunately for them, they couldn't even open the door to my room, since right next to it there was a royal guard who watched the hallway at all times. They had no choice but to tuck their tails between their legs and leave; in a way, the royal guard saved their lives, since patience was not one of my virtues.

Another thing to note was that I hadn't told Angrod who the intruders were yet, and that they were already inside the mansion. The reason for this was simple: every movement that took place inside this mansion was being monitored by D; not only did I use my eyes to keep an eye on my surroundings; I also used the 'domain' feature from time to time, which was quite a useful power; the amount of energy to use the authority was insane, but I found that 'domain' didn't leave me vulnerable as long as I was inside it. I had come up with the idea of deploying that feature individually and adjusting the amount of mana used; the results left me satisfied; I had managed to employ the feature using little energy, and I could easily cover the mansion from end to end. It should be noted that 'domain' is not invisible; it is a sort of semi-transparent barrier; if a person approached the mansion from the outside, they would undoubtedly notice something resembling thin glass; if they tried to touch it, their hands would pass through it; After all, it wasn't designed to be a real barrier, but thanks to my 'invisibility cloak' ability, that wasn't a problem; and if I added 'hide' to the equation, people would never realize they were entering my 'domain', and in a way they would be sealing their fates. This version of 'domain' was geared towards surveillance; whenever I wanted to listen in on someone's conversations, I just had to activate the feature; I could see and hear easily; I was sure I could do more if I went full force with authority, but it was a waste of energy if there was no one to kill.

In terms of range, the 'domain' could extend several kilometers; the more energy I applied, the farther it would extend; the shape of the barrier was that of a cube. The only reason I could use such powers almost without limits was only due to the black cube lying in my stomach; if I tried to activate any feature of the 'liar's world' authority with my base mana pool, I would undoubtedly run out of energy in a matter of seconds.
