Chereads / Wrong Reincarnation [OIMUHCAW] / Chapter 46 - Deception VIII

Chapter 46 - Deception VIII

The next day...

I lay in bed in my room for several hours, deep in thought. On one side were thoughts involving the elf girl, and on the other side were thoughts involving the intruders.

"This situation is going to drive me crazy."

The elf girl had damaged the imposing image she had left in the minds of her family; she talked so much that even I found it difficult to keep up with her: one idea after another, 'he told me this and that'; the more I listened to her talk, the more embarrassed I felt. After the elf girl finished telling her side of the story, she was bombarded with questions from her mother; seemingly innocent questions that, in fact, were not so innocent to me.

"That elf girl is to be feared."

As for the intruders, the bastards had already prepared the tools for the assault on the mansion. Between the two of them, they had scattered seemingly harmless scrolls all over the mansion; according to D's analysis, each scroll could teleport around twenty people, and there were a total of five scrolls scattered throughout the mansion.

"So a hundred individuals will participate in the assault."

It was a number to take into account, but I had the advantage; I knew where each scroll was, and if I wanted, I could interrupt the teleportation; it was up to me whether I wanted to let them set foot in this mansion or not.

"1 vs 100; how scary."

- REMEMBER THAT WE SURPASS THEM IN ENERGY, NUMBER OF SKILLS, CHARACTERISTICS, AND IF WE ADD THE AUTHORITIES, WE WILL HAVE NO RIVAL.

"How confident are you?"

- EVEN IF WE ARE DEFEATED, WE CAN ESCAPE.

"Good point."

- IN ADDITION, THE 'ASSAULT' MODE IS NOW CONFIGURED AND READY.

"It's about time; with that done, things will be easier to tackle."

The 'assault mode' D spoke of was the manifestation of perfection; simply put, the mishandling of energy, the misuse of my powers, and the poor decision-making in achieving objectives, all of that would no longer have a place; all of that would be thrown away, and in its place, D, the machine, the artificial intelligence, my creation, would take full control of my body for an indefinite time. As for me, I would only be able to return to normal as long as the mission was complete. As long as D is in control of my body, he will do whatever he needs to do to make the mission successful.

Machines fear nothing; they fear no one; they only obey and carry out the task you have given them; therefore, whether it is one or a hundred demons that appear, he will not hesitate to destroy them. One thing to keep in mind is that I will be hibernating for the duration of D's mission. 'Assault mode' is an order; it cannot be reversed; it was set up that way; once D receives a mission in that state, there will be no turning back; that is why care must be taken when and how such mode is used; such mode will only be used when I am overwhelmed and my chances of survival are almost zero.

"I'm not going to make things easy for them; they're going to have to go through hell to get the elf girl's life."

I knew the enemies were preparing; I knew what they were coming for; I had already set up some contingency plans to deal with them, but I planned to make more contingency plans; I planned to involve the elves in this; after all, they were the ones most interested in protecting the elf girl; my participation in this job was only due to my small desire to protect the elf girl; maybe I was overstepping, or maybe not, but I was absolutely sure of one thing, and that was that I was not a damn coward. From a very young age we were taught to be fair to other people; from a very young age we were instilled with rules that we had to follow to the letter; it should be noted that I was not the best at following the rules; there were other members of my family who followed them in better ways. Now that I thought back to my family, it made me laugh; If any of them had been reincarnated and were trapped in this body and were stuck in this situation, I'm completely sure that none of those guys who want to harm the elf girl would leave this mansion alive; among all of my family members, I was the calmest one; in a way, those who shared my blood, each had a unique talent; I was sure that if any of my relatives had come to this world with me and helped me with this situation, everything would be easy and simple, but too bad they weren't here.

"It's time to prepare for what's coming."

I got up from the bed I was lying on and immediately turned invisible; without wasting any time, I left the room I was in; I needed to make some arrangements outside the mansion; lying around all day doing nothing didn't seem like a very good idea, considering that at any moment the bastards could attack and turn the mansion into shit; so I decided to leave the room stealthily, using the 'invisibility cloak' skill and the 'hide' feature; there was nothing to fear; after all, there was no one able to detect me once I activated those two powers. Without wasting any time, I quickly moved through the corridors of the large mansion; the royal guard didn't even detect my movements, which were fluid and imperceptible; he was more focused on keeping an eye on the elf girl's room; thanks to that, he didn't notice that the door to my room opened for a few moments before closing.

In less than ten minutes I made it out of the mansion undetected by the guard; as I walked through the halls of the mansion, I noticed how imposing each hallway was; they were adorned with masterful paintings, plated in gold; others seemed to be plated with other types of metals that were unknown to me. Another thing to note was that there were elementals roaming around the mansion, though they were different from the elemental I had encountered before; they seemed to be of a lower rank, as their energy did not compare to the elemental I had seen before.

Once outside the mansion, I stealthily moved away from the guards who were waiting at the gate of the mansion's entrance; and when I was far enough away, from that moment on I began to move in earnest; in an instant I activated the skill 'wind impulse' and shot off like a bullet in the direction of the forest I had come from. Sensing the unusual wind wave, the guards immediately went to check the place; although I could hide the mana so that the elves wouldn't sense it, that didn't mean I could hide the effects it generated, such as in this case: strong wind currents; although I didn't really care if they noticed I was gone.

Now that I was running at high speeds, I could see the infrastructures surrounding me faintly; without a doubt, I was in a high-class area; the wealth that royalty had could be felt. I threw away those stupid thoughts and focused on what was in front of me: there was a ring of elves guarding the surroundings of the large mansion; the elves guarding the mansion seemed to have great detection skills, but I doubted that they could find me easily. Without wasting any time, I increased the energy and applied it to the 'wind impulse' skill; the elves, all they could feel was a blizzard of air that violently passed through them; they were surprised and shocked by the sudden situation that had been presented to them; not seeing any figure nearby, they only thought it was the natural wind; whether they saw me or not meant anything to me right now.

I continued on my way, and after a few minutes I managed to get out of the mansion quickly without any problem. There was something I realized: it was that a certain elf had noticed me; that elf called Eru noticed me, but he played dumb; that didn't go unnoticed by me; that guy seemed to have the ability to see through my 'hide' characteristic; in a way, he was interested in the power he had; he could be a threat to me, in a way. When I was far enough away from the mansion, I noticed something interesting: the mansion was isolated in a forest; the interesting thing is that this forest seemed to be artificial; there were no creatures around or infrastructure other than the mansion; another thing to keep in mind is that there was an absurd amount of spells surrounding the area; I didn't know exactly what each spell did, but I was sure that it wasn't a very good idea to touch them.

I made my way through the forest without stepping on the spells on the ground, and I avoided as much as I could the spells that were engraved on the trees. The area, the forest, was covered by many elementals, but I easily outwitted them. After running for so long, I ended up getting lost; after all, I didn't know the way, so I decided to shoot like a bullet into the sky. Once in the sky, D spoke to a few elementals and asked them for directions; elementals were undoubtedly a very useful tool in these cases; too bad they didn't want to come with me. After hours of traveling, I finally left the elven kingdom; it was perhaps five or six hours of travel; I didn't count the time, but one thing I did know was that it was already getting dark.

The sun was already beginning to set on the horizon, but that didn't matter; once I was out of the kingdom, I quickly walked through the forest, the path I had passed through before, the forest where I met the elf girl; I could see certain signs of battle in the area; it was as if a natural disaster had happened there; it was a crazy thing; many trees were shattered, minced, and others were scorched, as if a huge wave of fire had burned every part of them; I didn't know what kind of beast had fought in this place, but I was sure of one thing, and that was that I didn't want to fight with the person who caused this destruction.

I continued on my way; it was already nighttime, and usually everything should be dark, but with my vision, seeing at night was easy. My goal was to go to the forest where those powerful creatures were; in short, that demonic forest that I had fallen into before and escaped from. The real goal of my trip was to steal as many skills as possible; I planned to fill myself with as many powers as possible, both offensive and defensive powers; I wanted to give those bastards a surprise when they came for the elf girl; I didn't know exactly how many skills the cube could hold, but that was the least of it; even a single skill was helpful right now. After hours of traveling, I finally arrived at that demonic forest; I had already crossed the river that seemed to be a kind of boundary; once I arrived at the area, I immediately expanded my vision to begin the beast hunt, to see who would be the first victim.

"I hope you don't disappoint me, you demon beasts."
