The people present couldn't believe their ears: it was the sound of breathing from someone who should no longer be part of the living. Lia was breathing; the same Lia who was stabbed by a dagger in the heart. Everyone had their mouths wide open. The first person to break the silence was a certain white-haired boy:
"What are you doing standing there like idiots?"
That question brought everyone back to reality. Everyone's gazes soon shifted from Lia to the white-haired boy. They all had an absurd amount of questions to ask him. Angrod walked over to his granddaughter, who was floating in the air, and took her in a warm hug. With that hug alone, he knew that his granddaughter was okay.
"Thank you," Angrod said as he hugged his granddaughter tightly. The sincerity could be felt in his voice. The white-haired boy spoke:
"Bring back your insolent king."
The meaning of those words was quickly understood by Angrod, Eru, and the royal guard. Without wasting any time, the royal guard quickly brought the body of King Maedhros to me. As I looked at the king's body in front of me, I let out a comment that was easily heard by everyone present:
"There will be no second chances. If Maedhros ever rises against me again, he will pay with his life and no one will be able to save him from me. You have no idea how vast and immense my strength is."
My words echoed in the room. I had to warn them not to listen to Maedhros in case he stood up giving stupid orders and his guards threw themselves at me like idiots. I didn't want to kill anyone else for stupid reasons or lame excuses. Soon I heard an imposing voice; it was from the elf who followed me earlier. That guy was, without a doubt, strong; despite being affected by my authority, he could still strengthen his body with his internal mana.
"You have my word that no one will raise a weapon against you again."
"I'll take your word for it, Eru," I replied to the guy. He was serious. Now that everyone was inside the 'Liar's World', their thoughts were easily read by D. I still hadn't gotten used to such power. I looked at the rest of the elves, and one by one they started nodding their heads. That was more than enough for me. Eryn had fainted, so I just withdrew my shield. I lifted Maedhros' body with 'Move' and placed my hand on his forehead.
- VITAL ENERGY OF THE INDIVIDUAL DOES NOT NEED TO BE RESTORED.
- THE 'REPAIRER' FEATURE WILL BE USED ON THE INDIVIDUAL.
A few seconds after placing my hand on his forehead, Maedhros suddenly opened his eyes, surprising everyone. Seeing that he had woken up, I dropped him to the ground; I deactivated 'Move'.
"Ugh, what the…?"
Maedhros had woken up, and the first thing that greeted him was a strange white world. There was no sky in this place. He closed and opened his eyes to get his bearings. After a few seconds, he noticed the people around him. Without further ado, he asked:
"What happened to me?"
His question was answered by his father:
"I'll explain it to you later, Maedhros."
Angrod didn't show it, but inside he was shocked. They had used several medicinal treasures on Maedhros, but none had been able to heal him; but with a single touch from that being he was completely cured. This power was beyond typical healing magic; it was a power that touched the realm of the divine.
"Well, I guess I did more than enough."
Snap!
A snap of fingers echoed through space, and the world shattered into pieces. Soon everyone returned to the place they had originally been. Upon returning, Angrod immediately ordered:
"We will teleport to another place. Eru, you are in charge of the situation here. As for the royal guard, you will come with me."
The leader of the royal guard, a tall woman with white hair and blue eyes, asked:
'What do we do with that individual, Mr. Angrod?'
'Naida, he is not our enemy; let him do what he wants.'
Soon Angrod and the leader of the royal guard's conversation was interrupted by a white-haired boy:
"Angrod, those guys from earlier will come looking for Eldarion again. I can guarantee you that whoever comes will be very strong; it will be someone with the ability to stand up to me. I recommend that you prepare a good plan for when that happens."
The people in the room turned cold at my words, but it was very likely that they would come back for revenge. Angrod asked in an extremely serious voice:
"Are you sure about that?"
"Yes. Two beings with great powers have sneaked into your forces; carrying out a sneak attack again will be easy for them."
"Who are they?"
"This is where my help ends, Angrod. I am not your ally, and I am not your enemy. Good luck defending your family."
Angrod understood; he had already helped them too much. Relying on an outside agent was not ideal. Now that they knew there were two infiltrators among their people, they could do something, but there was a more effective way to deal with the problem, though it depended on whether a certain individual agreed. Angrod asked:
"I know this may sound a little inconsiderate, but would you be willing to work for the royal family?"
"???????"
"You will be rewarded appropriately. You see, four members of the royal guard are currently missing, and if we are caught off guard again, I doubt we'll get out of such a situation alive."
Angrod waited for the elemental's response; he didn't have high expectations, but he had nothing to lose by trying. Soon, loud laughter rang out:
"Hahahahahahaha".
Everyone looked at the laughing boy. If it had been anyone else laughing at the hero Angrod's words, they would have already cut off his head for such insolence, but the boy in front of them was no ordinary person; he was someone who had overwhelming power; logic could not be used on him.
"You're trying to drag me into the problem entirely, you old fox."
"Hahaha".
The words that came out of the boy made Angrod burst out laughing.
"There are no rules preventing a human from working for the royal family. Did you know that?"
I knew what Angrod's intentions were: he wanted to use me to eliminate the guys from before and the guys who had infiltrated. The reality was that I currently had no desire to fight the boss of the guy from before. The reason was simple: many people have seen my face; if I make too many enemies, they will undoubtedly kill me one day. Fighting monsters is not the same as fighting people. Without mincing words, I replied to Angrod, who seemed to be eager for my answer:
"I don't feel like dying."
The boy's words surprised everyone.
"I'm strong, but I have my limits. You probably want me to take out the guys who infiltrated and those who are yet to come; that's just suicidal."
"I see; so you're afraid."
Hearing Angrod's words, I laughed inside; it was obvious what he was trying to do: he wanted to provoke me into saying yes, but that wasn't going to work on me. I had already put off my departure for far too long. While it wouldn't hurt to kill some trash here and there, it changes the story if I know that the guys coming might be stronger than me. It's no fun fighting guys stronger than you.
- CREATOR, REMEMBER THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO RECOVER YOUR ORIGINAL BODY.
- AND MORE EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED IN THE USE OF THE 'LIAR'S WORLD' AUTHORITY.
'Do you want me to stay and fight?'
- THE PEOPLE WHO WILL COME, WITHOUT A DOUBT, WILL HAVE SKILLS OR AUTHORITIES.
'What good would those skills be to us if we were killed?'
- IT IS UNLIKELY THAT ANYONE CAN SURPASS US IN ENERGY AND SKILLS.
'I'm not convinced. What if we get overloaded and fall asleep in the middle of the battle?'
It was a situation that could happen; large amounts of mana and life energy had been channeled in a very short time.
'Unanswered?'
- IF IT ADOPTS ITS ORIGINAL FORM, WE WILL NOT HAVE THAT PROBLEM.
