Chereads / Wrong Reincarnation [OIMUHCAW] / Chapter 26 - Reward II

Chapter 26 - Reward II

I spent about an hour in the living room since I arrived, Eryn literally forced us to join her in her little tea party. 15 minutes ago, Eryn insisted that we join her and well, we were currently enjoying the delicacies brought to us by the servants. Every now and then, Eryn would ask questions regarding how I rescued her daughter. Obviously, I didn't tell her anything about my powers and how I had screwed up the guys who kidnapped her daughter. Every time she asked about the topic, she was ignored. Regarding the guy named Maedhros, he showed slight signs of annoyance whenever I ignored his wife. He didn't show it, but he loved his wife very much.

"Miss Eryn, these are definitely a delight."

"Oh really?"

"Yes, these sweets are very exquisite."

He occasionally threw compliments at Eryn. Every time he did, Maedhros would get slightly annoyed, something to keep in mind about the current situation was that Maedhros and Eryn were the kings of this kingdom. I knew that right away. In the room we were in, there were at least 10 people hiding. Each one was at least as strong as Idril. That was just by measuring their mana capacity. The bastards had plenty of mana, but I knew that not everything is defined by mana. If I go crazy, I can kill several of them, and with Idril by my side, it would be even easier. After we all finished eating the sweets, Eryn looked at us with a satisfied look. This woman was serious business, she wouldn't take no for an answer. The best way to deal with her was to ignore her.

"I'm glad you could join me. Tea parties are better when shared by several people."

Responding to Eryn's statement was Idril:

"Sister, eating sweets every day is a little too much for our bodies."

Everyone in the room knew that the sweets they ate were no ordinary sweets. These sweets were filled with vitality and mana. Eating them every day could kill a person in less than a month. Maedhros, Idril, and Angrod all knew that Eryn was not normal in that sense. Every day, she ate those sweets. The most surprising thing about the situation was the child who introduced himself by the name of D. He had eaten several of those sweets as if it were nothing. In the elven kingdom, it is well known what happens to humans who eat those sweets. Most are rendered unconscious after tasting a single bite, and in the case of humans, they can fall asleep for several days at a time. But here, in front of everyone, was a human who had filled his stomach with those sweets and did not seem to be affected. Breaking the silence was D:

"The candy was delicious, but I don't recommend feeding it to humans. These candies are poison to humans."

Eryn replied with a smile on her face:

"If it's poisonous, how come you're not affected?"

I replied with a smile to Eryn:

"I have a stomach of iron."

"Oh, is that so?"

"Yes, rather than killing me, those sweets make me stronger. Now that I've just eaten all those sweets, my strength has taken a tremendous leap. Now then, I could take on the 10 individuals watching us right now."

My words caused a silence to fall in the room. It wasn't a lie what I told them. Those sweets contained a good amount of vitality and mana. According to D's report, those sweets were magic. Thanks to them, I recovered from the fatigue I had been accumulating since my fight with the staff guy and the fatigue I accumulated because of Idril. Honestly speaking, I was at 100% of my capacity. Eryn broke the silence:

"Fufufu, how sharp you are."

"Yes, I am very sharp, but I also understand the reason behind his measures."

"Oh, do you know the reason?"

"Yeah".

"Oh, how smart you are, D."

Eryn was nervous, but she didn't show it on her face. The human boy discovered the royal guardians. They were the 10 most powerful people who served the king and the royal family. Their abilities were at the top, but they were easily discovered.

"Yes, and since you have treated me so well, I will tell you something from the bottom of my heart: I do not want you to try to attack me by treachery or try to force me to stay against my will, because I will be forced to tear you all to pieces."

Everyone was silent and looked at me with strange looks. I stared at everyone in the room. My gaze was serious.

"Mr. Angrod, I'm afraid you made a grave mistake by bringing me to this place. You must have thought I was someone you could easily deal with, but unfortunately for you, I can kill every single one of your guards, of course, including you three."

I wasn't planning to threaten them at first, but since they literally gave me poison, I changed my mind. Sweets were poison to humans and everyone in the room knew it. I assumed the intention was always to put me to sleep and capture me. Angrod replied:

"You got it wrong, D."

Angrod tried to calm the waters, but Maedhros intervened:

"Enough, Father. We just have to catch him. We've already allowed him to do so much. We stooped to listen to a mere human and heard what he had to say, but look at him, he dares to threaten us."

"Honey, I don't..."

"My dear, I've done enough and I've debased myself enough. I can't lose face any more."

Hearing what Maedhros said, I stood up and replied:

"What you're going to lose is your life, you idiot."

Maedhros became furious with my statement and ordered:

"Capture him."

The moment Maedhros said those words, my body disappeared from its spot and appeared in front of Maedhros.

"I warned you."

Just a few inches away from Maedhros, I used 'Wind Cut' at point-blank range. In an instant, Maedhros' body was split into two. The people hiding in the room couldn't get there in time. No one in the room reacted in time. By the time they realized what I had done, it was too late.

"Honeyy ...

The first to break the silence was Eryn. She ran to the top of Maedhros who was lying on the ground and took him in her arms while crying. Seeing the scene, Angrod spoke with rage in his voice:

"Idril, heal Maedhros as best you can."

"Idril?"

Angrod was annoyed as there was no response from Idril. Looking closely, she was still as a statue, not moving.

"What the hell is wrong with you, Idril?"

There was no response from Idril.

"Damn! What did you do to Idril, human?"

Angrod asked angrily.

"I neutralized her. Did you think I was going to let her stop me?"

Angrod's face turned serious. Things had gotten out of hand. The guards had surrounded the human, but there was one problem: Eryn was very close to the human. They had already witnessed the tremendous speed the human had. If he attacked Eryn like he did with Maedhros, it was almost certain that they would not be able to save her. Looking at the rapidly bleeding Maedhros, they seemed to have only a few minutes to save his life.

"What do we do, Mr. Angrod?"

Asked one of the 10 elves surrounding the human.

"Nothing, withdraw immediately."

"But..."

"Do it."

Angrod knew that the only reason D attacked was because he was attacked first. If he wasn't provoked, then he might not attack. After a while of contemplation, the guard nodded and they retreated to their initial positions. Soon, Angrod spoke:

"As you can see, no one is threatening your life, D."

"And what do you want me to do? Stop attacking?"

"Yeah".

"Angrod, you see, I have a big problem. My elemental is a little angry and demands lives."

"Lives? What exactly do you mean?"

Angrod had a bad feeling.

"My elemental is demanding 1000 elven lives. If you don't hand them over, then he will continue to kill and kill until there are no one left."

With that statement, Angrod stood cold in his place. He had thought of attacking the human with his deadliest technique, but he was afraid that the human would surprise him by dodging his technique. There was a high chance of that happening. Angrod knew that he had to act fast or Maedhros would die.

"Okay, I'll give you what you ask, but let us help Maedhros first."

"Go ahead and help him, but keep in mind that there will be no second chances."

I stepped away from Maedhros and let Angrod come closer. When Angrod looked closely at Maedhros, he knew that the artifact protecting him was broken. That only meant that the human's attack overcame the artifact's defenses. Angrod quickly spoke:

"Heal him."

"Understood".

Out of nowhere appeared an elven woman who had green hair and brown eyes. She quickly conjured her magic and began casting various incantations. Soon after, a green light filled the room. After a minute of addressing the king, she said:

"My lord, I cannot heal him properly. My healing is slow for some reason."

The elf Angrod had called did not know the reason, but her healing magic was slowing as it seeped into the king's wounds. Angrod knew the reason must be that wind attack. There had to be something special about it.
