When Emily was through with dressing she came downstairs only to find her dad and her stepmother discussing . Mr Aston looked up and saw his Emily ,he gestured her to come and sit .
" Good evening sir" she greeted her dad.
He replied her with a nod and invited her to come and sit .
Emily sat down with shaky hands because it has been awhile since she sat down on the dinning. She eyed the food hungrily.
Mr Aston saw that and told her to begin eating.
She ate it hungrily , but she didn't know Mr Aston was observing her while listening to his wife suggesting about Emily being sold as a slave far away .
Emily ate her food with joy not knowing her parents were making a decision that will change her life forever.
Mr Aston observed his daughter with pity laced in her eyes , he loved his daughter because that was the only memory of his late dear wife Stella.
Emily looked almost like Stella and that was what hurt his new wife most.
Mr Aston didn't want Emily to be sold as a slave but he had to do it because if he doesn't he might end up holding his only daughter's corpse and he didn't want that ,so he decided that he will sign his will in her name but he won't let his wife know.
" Emily your stepmother and I have made a decision that you will be sent as a slave to the household in a far away town" ,Mr Aston said in his usual cold tone but inside him ,his heart was bleeding seeing his daughter's reaction.
" But why father I can be a slave here why do I have to be sent far away from you " Emily said with tears in her eyes.
" My decision is final , you are going there tomorrow so pack some essential things ,I bought some dresses that you will take there ,so no need of taking any dress" Mr Aston said .
Emily was very sad about what her father said but didn't say anything so she left upstairs to pack her things.
While packing her things her stepmother came with some girl personal things that she would need for her travel tomorrow .
Her stepmother was so happy that she was finally going to leave for good , so giving her what she needs was not a problem for her as far as she won't set her eyes on Emily ever again.
Emily silently cried while packing her things but didn't say anything.
After packing she went to sleep thinking about her friend Julie, she didn't know how to tell her that she was leaving . She was leaving very early tomorrow morning.
Emily slept with a heavy heart.
Very early the next day she got up , did her house chores and took her bath ,brushed and dressed up .
She waited for her cab to pick her up and take her to where she was going to.
While waiting her father came with some thing in his hand he opened his hand for her to see her mother's necklace he gave it to her and asked her to promise him not to ever take it off.
Emily promised her father with a sad smile.
" Good girl" her father said."Now come and give me a hug"
Emily hugged her father with tears in her eyes.
"Don't ever forget that I love you ok?"
"Yes father "Emily said
"Ok your cab is here , bye Emily "
" Bye father " Emily said.
"Take care of yourself and always be a good girl that will always make father proud " , her father said.
"Ok daddy "Emily said.
The cab driver put Emily's suitcases at the car boot and asked Emily to get in.
After the door was shut , Emily could only steal one last glance at her dad , before the cab driver zoomed off .
