It's been one week since Emily started living in the Young's mansion.
Things have not been easy for her but thanks to Granny Grey and aunt Gina, Emily has been coping just fine .
Emily has now been well acquainted with the time master and miss Charles and Charlotte wakes up for school.
She wakes up before them to prepare a hot water bath for them with roses and milk and she also joins in bathing young miss Charlotte to prepare her for school.
Emily has been specially assigned to take care of Mr and Mrs young children ; Charlotte and Charles, she also goes to give Mr and Mrs young their tea in the morning.
The middle aged couple was starting to get fond of Emily , cause she was a cheerful girl that never stopped working diligently.
She never failed to prepare their children for school and never failed to bring their tea at the proper time , but there was one person who always has problem with everything she did ; Charles.
He was never satisfied with whatever she did for him , he would sometimes punish her by telling her to clean his shoes over and over again until either Mr or Mrs Young interrupted. He disliked Emily because of her diligence and treated her as his play thing .
Charlotte, on the other hand,was very nice to Emily and would secretly give Emily her leftover food which was ordinary to be wasted, though the maids might be hungry.
Charlotte and Emily was secretly becoming friends, but Emily tried to keep her distance because if anyone noticed, she would be punished severely, because the rich and the poor do not mix .
Charlotte wouldn't budge though, because all her friends for high status were fake to her , because they were all there for her father's status not because they were actually real friends. She knew if her father had no money, they would mock her and leave her , that's why she needs a real friend.
One evening, the whole family was in the garden enjoying the evening breeze , and as usual Emily was sent to give tea to the middle aged couple and fruit juice to the children.
Charlotte was reading Japanese, because a person of royal status was supposed to know at least 10 languages. Charles, on the other hand was busy enjoying the scenery.
Emily came with the tea and and juice, and was pouring tea for them when Mr Young told Charles to read Japanese that his sister was reading.
Charles fidgetinly picked up the book because he knew he didn't attend the language lessons his father has prepared for them and sneaked out to be with his friends with him threatening Emily to cover for him.
"Ummm....ummmm ", he stammered not knowing what to say .
"Where were you when your sister was attending those lessons?" Mr Young asked sternly.
Charles shakily threw the book from his hand and Emily picked it up and started to read it to the surprise of every one. She was very fluent in the language so that Mr and Mrs Young was very impressed by her accent.
"My dear , how did you learn to speak Japanese?"Mrs Young asked baffled .
"I love reading ma , and I love languages so when my biological mother was still alive she used to hire a private teacher for me " Emily politely answered.
Mrs Young nodded impressed.
"You are grounded for two weeks to remain inside your room and your private teacher will be coming to teach you there "Mr Young sternly voiced.
With tears guards escorted Charles to his room and Mr Young dismissed Emily to allow her go back to her work.
Emily went back to work worried about what master Charles would do to her when he was out of his room.
She could not concentrate on what she was doing throughout that aunt Gina noticed.
"Emily, what's going on?"she asked.
"Nothing aunt Gina" Emily said , Gina didn't believe Emily and told Emily to follow her .
"I am your family right, you can tell me anything" she coaxed Emily.
Emily sighed and told her everything that has happened with Charles from the very beginning.
Aunt Gina was very surprised at how Emily managed to still be here , because Master Charles was very selective and would fire anyone that has not been up to his taste .
'so why is Emily still here ' she wondered.
"Don't worry Emily , we are in this together , you are not alone , thanks for telling me "
She assured Emily.
And they both got back to work.
