Chapter 30 - World-Building Space

Elena returned to the tent, finding her husband sleeping soundly. A wave of relief washed over her as she looked at his peaceful expression.

She wanted to treat his injury, clean and bandage his wound, and prepare some new clothes. However, seeing his tranquil expression, she decided to let him rest a little longer.

With nothing to do, she teleported to the fertile land nearby. As she examined the grass growing rapidly, she cut a handful of it, preparing for her livestock while also experimenting with how quickly it could regrow.

Afterward, she returned to check Poochi. Seeing that the dog was stable and peacefully sleeping, she left and went to the tent to check on Ethan to see if he was awake.

She wanted to discuss the impending apocalypse, but noticing that he was still asleep, she summoned a table, a chair, a notebook, and a sketch pad beside the bed. She intended to rewrite her thoughts and plan their next steps while she waited for him to wake.

For the past few days, Elena had contemplated creating a small world within her space. She already has some ideas about what to do.

Elena's space was unique; it had already reached its final form in size and area. However, the Golden tablet still required upgrades to harness its potential fully. The Golden tablet was crucial for channeling spiritual energy to maintain operations inside the space and creating a unique mark for individuals. When it upgrades to tier 1, it has the power to make Elena become a space-ability user.

The Golden tablet had two essential bars: the Experience bar and the Energy Reserve bar.

The Experience bar was vital for upgrading the tablet itself; upgrading it to the next tier required significant spiritual energy sourced from antiques, jades, and cores from mutated plants, animals, and aliens. Once the bar status reaches 100%, it will automatically upgrade.

However, upgrading the Golden tablet will be much more challenging.

Imagine using jade, which only gives .0001% of experience points. If that's the case, it will need a massive amount of jade and antiques, considering that the core isn't available yet. Plus, the further the tier is, the more spiritual energy it requires.

Elena sighs while thinking about it. Just like how ability is upgraded in the future, space follows the same rules.

Once the Golden Tablet upgraded to tier 1, Elena could create marks for up to 500 individuals. However, as it currently stood at tier 0, she was limited to marking only 100. The higher the tier, the more marks she could create, the larger the energy reserve would become, and the purer the spiritual energy it could release.

This purity would enhance the quality of the lake water, enrich the soil, and amplify the miraculous effects of the well water. Additionally, her space ability would grow more powerful, all intricately linked to the tier of the Golden Tablet itself. This potential for expansion fueled her determination to gather the necessary resources for the upgrade.

On the other hand, the Energy Reserve bar was crucial for maintaining the daily operations within her space. It ensured everything functioned smoothly, from the growth of crops to the well-being of her livestock, while also upholding the connections (unique marks) and rules that governed her space. Without sufficient energy, her carefully crafted world could easily falter.

If the energy bar drops to 0%, the world will hibernate, removing all living beings from the space to maintain its connection to its master. To prevent this, the energy reserve needed to be replenished regularly, ensuring it never fell below that critical threshold. Keeping the energy levels stable was essential for her operations.

Aside from that, the space had its own restrictions. With the Golden Tablet at tier 0, individuals marked by Elena could only stay for a maximum of 3 hours to preserve spiritual energy. Each tier upgrade would increase this limit by 2 hours.

Elena could bend these rules, allowing someone to stay longer if necessary. However, the longer an individual remained, the more spiritual energy it would consume, effectively doubling the usage. This energy was linked to the Energy Reserve Tab, which maintained the operations of her space.

She could also create rules within her space, but each new rule would require additional spiritual energy, making her mindful of how many she can establish. For example, Rule No. 1: No Fighting. This rule would restrict everyone from engaging in combat, but enforcing it would necessitate a steady supply of spiritual energy to maintain effectiveness.

Balancing the need for flexibility and control was crucial as she navigated the complexities of her unique space.

She sighs for the second time.

Both tabs required significant spiritual energy to upgrade and maintain operations. However, this space potential offered Elena and Ethan a considerable advantage in the face of an impending apocalypse.

Elena was eager to pursue world-building, fully aware that her space could accommodate her ambitious plans. With the help of the Golden Tablet, she could mark individuals, granting them the ability to enter and exit as needed. She envisioned using these marked individuals to carry out her bidding across various essential functions—farming, water stations, logistics, hospitals, and even a military division.

To ensure the success of her vision, she sought out trustworthy individuals to govern each department within her space while remaining hidden in the shadows, orchestrating everything from behind the scenes.

She also planned to create a network of spies who would sell products grown within her space as a front while gathering information that lay beyond her reach. They could inform her about any threats or opportunities during the apocalypse.

Fortunately, the Golden Tablet could sense personal motives, acting as a deterrent against treachery. If anyone betrayed her, the space would impose sanctions. Elena could take action herself, too, as the tablet also had the ability to delve into the memories of those she had marked.

Elena believed this was a small price to pay for those she marked, especially in a world on the brink of collapse. They needed sanctuary, and she offered them one in exchange for their loyalty. In her mind, this arrangement was not just a means of survival but a way to build trust and mutual benefit in the face of chaos.
