Chi, Dave, and Rayna stood outside the mission hall, reviewing their assignment.
The parchment in Chi's hands bore a simple yet clear directive:

Chi grinned, twirling a dagger between her fingers. "An extermination job. Quick, clean, efficient."
Dave adjusted his gloves, flexing his fingers as if itching for a fight. "Tch. About time we got something real."
Rayna sighed dramatically, flipping through her spellbook with a lazy flick of her wrist. "Vampires. Predictable, brooding, and obsessed with blood. At least it won't be boring."

A cold wind swept past them, rustling the mission papers.
Instructor Darius was nowhere to be seen—just as expected.
A shadow among shadows.
Watching from the dark.
Only stepping in if necessary.
Chi's gaze sharpened as she scanned the mission details.
"An abandoned nightclub, huh?"
She could already picture it—tight spaces, multiple levels, a maze of corridors where enemies could hide.
They needed a plan.
Dave cracked his knuckles. "Simple. We go in, kill them, and leave."
Rayna scoffed, snapping her book shut. "And what if they have a leader? Or worse, a sire?"
Her golden eyes glimmered with amusement.
"Running in blind will get us killed."
Chi nodded, flipping her dagger effortlessly before sheathing it. "Rayna's right. We need to identify the head vampire first."
She tilted her head, smirking.
"If we take them out, the rest will crumble."
Dave grunted but didn't argue.
Rayna tapped her chin, considering. "My summons can scout ahead. I can send a shadow wisp inside first."
