Back in their temporary hideout, Chi, Dave, and Rayna huddled together, their mission clear but their approach uncertain.
Dave cracked his knuckles.
"So, what's the play? We just storm in and start cutting off heads?"
Chi scoffed, arms crossed.
"That's a fast way to die. We don't know how many we're dealing with yet."
Rayna smirked, tossing her hair over her shoulder.
"You boys are thinking too small. Why don't we just… walk right in?"
Chi raised an eyebrow.
"As in, disguise ourselves as clubgoers?"
Rayna leaned against the table, her eyes glinting with confidence.
"Exactly. The vamps are only active at night, but they let humans inside for entertainment—those thralls I mentioned."
She tapped a finger against her temple.
"If we go in acting like normal customers, we can get a good look around. Find the heart. Then, when we know where it is…"
(SWOOSH.)
She made a slicing motion across her throat.
"We take them down."
Dave sighed.
"I hate dressing up."
Chi smirked.
"Too bad. If we do this right, we can end them before they even realize we're a threat."
Dave grumbled but didn't argue.
Dressing the Part
The next evening, the three of them stood outside the nightclub, dressed like they belonged.
The night was alive with deep bass and murmuring voices. A long line of clubgoers stretched toward the entrance, thralls laughing, talking, oblivious to their fates.
Chi: Black button-up, sleeves rolled up to his elbows, dark jeans, and a sharp gaze that made him look effortlessly cool.
Dave: Reluctantly in a dark blazer over a fitted shirt, his usual rough look replaced by something more refined. He looked like he wanted to punch someone.
Rayna: A sleek red dress with high slits on both sides, exuding confidence and danger in equal measure.
She spun in place, grinning.
"Well? How do I look?"
Chi smirked.
"Like someone who's about to make a lot of vampires regret existing."
Dave sighed.
"Let's just get this over with."
With that, they stepped toward the club entrance—just three ordinary people looking for a night of fun.
At least, that's what the vampires would think.
