The mysterious figure standing under the streetlight turned out to be one of the thieves they had encountered a few days ago. But this time, he was not alone. A group of people emerged from the shadows, approaching with steady steps. Their numbers were far greater than before.
At the center of the group stood a tall man with a scarred face, his arms crossed. His sharp eyes exuded an intimidating aura. Stepping forward, he gave Zeyu and Kailu a sinister smile.
"So, you're the little punks who messed up my plans last time?" he said in a deep voice.
Kailu narrowed his eyes and clenched his fists. "Who are you?"
The man let out a small chuckle before answering, "My name is Gu Renjun. I lead them. And you made a big mistake by interfering in my business."
Zeyu and Kailu prepared themselves to face them, while Yuke clung to Zeyu's arm, hiding behind him in fear.
Without wasting time, the fight began.
Gu Renjun waved his hand in the air, signaling his men to attack. Several men charged toward Zeyu and Kailu. Kailu immediately greeted them with swift punches and powerful kicks, his energy surging as if he thrived in battle.
Zeyu, on the other hand, was not very skilled at fighting. Though he tried to defend himself, he struggled at times. Fortunately, Kailu was always there to protect him.
But amidst the chaos, Gu Renjun's attention shifted to Yuke.
With a sly smirk, he stepped closer to her. "You're the one with the jewelry, aren't you? Maybe I should just take it myself."
Yuke took a step back in fear, but just as Gu Renjun was about to grab her.
Two figures suddenly appeared from behind!
A young man with short hair and an athletic build, along with a girl with neatly tied long hair, stood in front of Gu Renjun.
"Stop right there," the young man said firmly.
Without waiting for a response, he launched a quick punch at Gu Renjun, while the girl beside him assisted Zeyu and Kailu in fighting off the thieves.
With their teamwork, the thieves started to struggle. One by one, Gu Renjun's men fell, until finally, Gu Renjun himself was pushed back.
With an angry expression, Gu Renjun shouted, "This isn't over! Just wait, I'll be back!"
After saying that, Gu Renjun and his men quickly fled into the darkness of the night.
For a moment, silence filled the air.
The young man and girl who had just helped them approached Zeyu and Kailu.
"Are you alright?" the young man asked.
Kailu wiped the sweat off his forehead and nodded. "We're fine. Thanks for helping us."
The young man smiled. "Who are you? And why are you here?"
Kailu replied, "We were just having dinner together and chatting. We didn't even realize we were being watched."
The young man sighed. "You should be more careful next time. The world isn't always safe."
Kailu gave a small smile and asked, "By the way, who are you?"
The young man introduced himself. "My name is Zulian, and this is my younger sister, Aline."
"I'm Kailu. Nice to meet you," Kailu said, extending his hand.
Zeyu also introduced himself. "I'm Zeyu, and this is Yuke."
Zulian smiled. "You guys seem interesting. How about we become friends?"
Kailu chuckled. "Sounds good! I'm sure it'll be fun to be friends with you."
Zeyu simply nodded in agreement, while Yuke gave a relieved smile.
That night, though full of unexpected events, they gained something even more valuable new friends.
