Chapter 9 - Trap

The next night, the atmosphere at the park café was warm, illuminated by dim lights. Zeyu and his friends sat around a table, laughing and sharing stories. However, their laughter ceased when a man with white hair and red eyes approached, accompanied by Gu Renjun and a group of his subordinates.

"Who is that? Why is he with Gu Renjun?" Kailu whispered warily.

Zulian, who recognized the figure, froze. "No way… That's Alizer! The strongest person in this city!" he said, his voice tense.

Everyone's eyes widened, and their hearts pounded faster. They knew that whenever Alizer appeared, chaos usually followed. But what shocked them was his calm demeanor. Alizer walked up to them casually and looked at them with a strangely friendly smile.

"Mind if I join you? I'll treat you all," he said in a relaxed tone.

Zeyu and his friends exchanged glances, confused by Alizer's intentions. Wasn't he supposed to eliminate them? Why did he want to join them instead?

With a subtle gesture from Alizer, Gu Renjun and his men stepped back, leaving them under the flickering park lights.

"What do you want?" Zulian asked suspiciously.

Alizer chuckled. "Relax. I just want to chat. You all seem pretty close, don't you?"

"We only met a few days ago, but it feels like we've known each other for a year," Kailu answered without thinking much.

Alizer scanned each of them before smirking. "How about I become your friend?"

Zeyu felt something was off with that statement, but Kailu, who was too naive, immediately nodded. "Of course! You're welcome to be our friend."

Zulian frowned. Something didn't feel right. But before he could say anything, Alizer spoke again.

"How about we capture this wonderful moment with a photo?"

"Unfortunately, we don't have a camera," Kailu replied.

Alizer shrugged. "Don't worry, I brought one." He pulled out a camera and handed it to Kailu.

They took a group photo together. But just as it was Zeyu's turn to take a picture with Alizer...

Bam!

Alizer moved faster than anyone could anticipate. His hand clamped around Zeyu from behind, covering his mouth tightly. "Don't move! Or he won't make it out alive," he warned coldly.

Everyone was shocked and immediately stood up. But before they could react, Gu Renjun and his men surrounded them.

Zulian, unable to hold back, lunged at Gu Renjun. Their fists collided in the air, creating a pressure wave that made the chairs and tables tremble. But the fight was short-lived, as Alizer had already taken Zeyu into his black car.

"Zeyu!!" Kailu shouted in despair, but the car sped off, leaving them in confusion and fear.

"We have to do something!" Yuke exclaimed.

"But what? If we fight them head-on, we'll definitely lose," Kailu said, panicking.

Zulian clenched his fists. "We need help. I've heard there's someone who can match or maybe even defeat Alizer."

"Who?" Kailu asked hopefully.

"The honorable police chief, Deu Hamato."

All eyes turned to Zulian. The police chief? Someone who could rival Alizer?

"Then we have to find him quickly before something happens to Zeyu!" Yuke said firmly.

Without wasting any time, they rushed to their car, leaving the now eerily quiet café behind.

"Zeyu, hang in there… I swear, I'll save you," Kailu muttered, gripping the steering wheel tightly as he sped off.
