Xavier leads me into his huge office.
"Nice office you have. I love everything you have going on."
"Yeah, right." He chuckles.
"I'm serious, Xavi." I act like I'm offended.
"Y'know, I've missed being called that."
"...."
"As much as I hate to admit it." He adds. "Anyways, let's get on with it. Shall we?" There he goes again, changing the subject just as quickly as he moved on.
I roll my eyes as I take a seat on the couch.
"What?"
I just shrug.
"Out with it, Riley." He raises his eyebrow at me.
"Is she the lady you're so madly in love with now?"
Xavi takes a second, not saying anything.
"What makes you think that?"
I scoff. He can't be serious. "The heart eyes she gives you aren't that obvious? One would actually think she's your woman."
Xavi laughs like I said something funny. "That's not true. Kate is just my PA. End of story, and anyways, why does it matter if she looks at me with heart eyes? That's not your business to worry about."
"Ouch, Xavi. That hurt my feelings."
He rolls his eyes and scoffs. "Yeah, right. It takes a lot more to hurt you."
"Don't you just know everything about me." I sarcastically reply, exaggeratedly throwing my hands up in the air.
This isn't going anywhere.
The both of us just roll our eyes at each other, frustrated.
We sit in uncomfortable silence before Xavi calls for his PA to come in. Kate, is it? She's gorgeous, I'mma give her that. But I just don't see why she's so in love with this guy. Like why? I was once madly in love with Xavi, but look at where it got me.
Of all men in this company, she's set on just Xavi? Pshh, pathetic. She couldn't even hide her dismay towards me when Xavi was introducing us. I just know that if the chance presented itself, she'd take the chance to throw hands at me because of Xavi.
I will never be foolish to fight another woman all because of a man. What more because of Xavi! I internally roll my eyes.
Regardless, I wonder why I'm still not okay with her being close to Xavi. I'm being ridiculous entertaining these stupid thoughts. I can't allow myself to succumb to that stupid emotion all over again.

The three of us have our discussion concerning my contract. After making changes to the pay I'll be receiving and being satisfied with the final draft, I sign with Glamouri Beauty; the influential fashion and beauty company there is.
It's finally lunchtime. Kate goes back to her office after announcing she'll have lunch with her colleagues.
"What will you have?" Xavi asks as he places the order on his phone.
"Whatever you're having." I'm so bored. On top of that, my cramps are back. Can't I just get a break?!
I think Xavi noticed. "You okay?"
"No. It's my cramps."
"Come on."
Xavi helps me up from the couch. He leads me to his secret bedroom, and it's actually huge. Now I get why it's only his and Kate's office on this top floor of the company building.
"Wow. You really have it all, huh?" I joke, and he laughs with me.
"I sure do. Now, get some rest. I'll be back when the food's here. Feel free to take a shower or whatever..." He realises that maybe he shouldn't have said the last part.
That makes me laugh. "Okay, I will. Thank you, Xavi."
He nods his head and leaves the room, going back to his desk.
He's so cute.
