Am I that unlucky?
This afternoon, Xavier couldn't even answer my work-related questions properly without dreamily looking at the office door where Riley just went out of.
Anyone with eyes can see just how much Riley means to him. My eyes also work just fine, and as much as I hate to admit it, I don't think I stand a chance to push Riley out of his life and place myself in it. I guess I can now admit that my boss will never like me, I have to accept this fact.
I guess I was in denial about this whole 'liking Xavier' situation. At this point, I need a break because if I continue seeing Xavier and Riley together, I won't be able to handle it.
'Hey Kate. Guess who I just reconnected with?!' Chloe's text comes through.
'Josh! You won't believe it. He's freaking rich now. Girl, if I were you, I would snatch him back!'
When I don't reply, she texts again. 'I mean, he was all over you back in college.'
'I'll think about it.' I reply.
'Girl, you better hurry because if you don't, I'mma make my move on him.'
'Suit yourself.'
Just then, a call comes through from an unknown number.
"Hello? Yes, this is she.... Oh, hi Josh
How've you been?"
