Soon a guard arrives to take the duo to the king's court where the mage arrived
"Oh shit, is this the moment? Are we gonna get killed or something?" Ji-hye asks, her voice cracking with anxiety.
"No." Kashigami responds nonchalantly, shrugging.
"Then what are we gonna do?" she continues.
Her face a mix of worry and confusion.
"Just wait, don't worry." Kashigami says with a lazy smile, brushing off her concern.
"You are too relaxed, I feel like I'm the only one worried." she huffs, crossing her arms.
"You are" he replies, his tone indifferent.
"I swear I will throw a fireball at you one day" Ji-hye mutters under her breath, glaring at him.
The guard moves to the cell where the duo are at.
"Follow me" the guard demands with an expression that says 'don't argue'
" jeez Why is he so stingy" Ji-hye huffs
"You better not do anything stupid." Ji-hye warns, glaring at Kashigami again.
"Why would i?" Kashigami asks completely unfazed.
"Because you're crazy, and you don't know what's normal and what is not" she retorts.
The trio move towards the King's throne room. The room is vast and open with the queen's and king's throne situated above the stairs elevating the plane
"Mage, these two were found in Princess's Elaine's room. I suspect them of being a spy or an assassin" the king announces.
"I Understand your highness, I shall investigate." the mage responds, bowing slightly.
"Do what you need to" the king orders, a stern edge to his voice.
The mage moves towards the suspected spies
"Alright, come here and stand right here." the mage says firmly.
The duo stand to the said position, Ji-hye trying to keep calm but clearly tense.
"I will use a spell on you two, just stay still." the mage adds.
Ji-hye looks nervous, eyeing the mage. "Is he going to murder me?"
"What" Kashigami looks at Ji-hye weirdly "No, it's a translation spell" Kashigami responds
The mage chants the spell
"Translato"
"Is it gonna kill us or something" Ji-hye asks, her voice trembling slightly
"No young girl." the mage answers, his tone calm and reassuring.
The mage turns to the King and Queen "Your highness, They speak elven." he states.
"I did not know you spoke elven" the king comments, his voice with curiosity.
"Wait, can I understand the elf language? But I don't know it"Ji-hye asks Kashigami, looking more confused than ever.
"That's the translation spell. They can understand you, it's like trying to bridge you to a similar language." Kashigami explains with a shrug, looking a little too nonchalant about the whole thing.
"So like, The elves can also understand me without it?" Ji-hye asks, raising her eyebrows.
"Probably." Kashigami responds.
"You two, You and that man besides you look human, Where do you come from? How come you two speak elven?" the queen asks, her eyes narrowing with suspicion.
"Oh. I'm actually not from this place" Ji-hye answers quickly, her tone defensive.
"I knew that" the queen murmurs.
"if you knew. So you were lying?" Ji-hye asks in a sarcastic tone.
"No- I meant you are a spy! the man beside you is a human?" she adds, eyeing Kashigami with renewed suspicion.
"Why?" Ji-hye asks, turning to the queen, still confused.
"He looks divine, his eyes and hair" she says, her voice quieter now but still full of doubt.
Ji-hye looks at Kashigami with suspicious eyes "You really had to go for the all model look didn't you?" she mutters under her breath, trying to be subtle.
"What? is there a problem" Kashigami responds, clearly oblivious to the issue.
"You look too good looking, how can I explain why a guy who looks like an angel is with me, no one is gonna believe me, what the hell is wrong with you?" Ji-hye complains, dramatically throwing her hands up in frustration.
"Enough! You TWO identify yourself" the king commands, his voice stern.
"I'm Kim Ji-hye" she says quickly, trying to appear calm despite the situation.
"I'm Kashigami." he says, his voice lazy, almost as if this whole ordeal is a mere inconvenience.
"Kashigami? I've heard that name, isn't that the elf god?" the king asks, his voice showing clear recognition.
"Uhh...no. He is not" Ji-hye says hastily, waving her hands in denial.
"So, what are you? an elf?" the queen asks, her tone suddenly sharp.
"Neither, I am just not really a human, like her" Kashigami says, his voice almost bored as his bad lies.
"I'm not entirely a human either, but yeah" Ji-hye adds, shrugging casually, as if this were the most normal thing in the world.
"Well then, why are you here?" the king demands, clearly still unsure of their story.
"Well, I am just here to learn about the world. Travelling" Ji-hye says, her tone now more relaxed.
"It makes sense seeing your strange outfit. Its the first time ive seen it" the queen answers, her curiosity spiked but still suspicious.
"How can a girl be so confident and not scared when facing the king of the nation." the king questions the king questions, raising an eyebrow.
"She is just that toxic" Kashigami says in a dry tone, glancing at Ji-hye with a smirk.
"How did you get into the princess's room?" the king asks, narrowing his gaze.
"Well my brother here decided to use a teleportation spell for faster travel but he failed to calculate where to go" Ji-hye says, while telling her sob story
"Brother?" Kashigami asks, his eyes flicking
"Just play along..." Ji-hye mutters, trying not to show her discomfort.
"Lies! Nobody is capable of doing that spell without a lot of mana!" the queen exclaims, clearly not buying it.
Ji-hye stares at Kashigami. A frustrated look crossing her face.
"What?" Kashigami asks, his expression completely blank.
stares.....
"Whaaat?" Kashigami asks, still oblivious.
stares.....
"Sigh"
Staring at him for a moment longer, Ji-hye sighs, then abruptly snaps her fingers, teleporting herself and Kashigami a small distance, leaving everyone in utter shock..
"Teleportation!" Ji-hye states, with a grin on her face
"That's impossible! You can't use teleportation on other people unless you have an immense amount of mana. Even if you could do that, you could not have done that without a circle." the queen argues
"Well, you just witnessed it. We are great mages." Ji-hye says, crossing her arms and smirking.
"So, Why would you two great mages not escape or anything?" The king asks Ji-hye.
"It was our fault...We were to teleport wrongfully, We had to pay for our actions" Ji-hye answers boldy
"That! That is very bright of you!" the king shows his exclamation.
"Ji-hye what other spells do you know?" the queen asks.
"Uh....." Ji-hye hesitates. She opens the spell book and thinks about what power should she give herself. The spell book is not visible to others.
"Well, I have the power to summon items." she says after a pause, finally coming up with something she thinks they'll believe.
"Summoning items? I don't believe it. If you could do that, you should be rich by now." the king says, his voice skeptical.
"But, I have the power to do it." Ji-hye insists, her voice unwavering.
"Prove it." the king demands, crossing his arms.
Ji-hye thinks about what she should summon.
"Ok."
Ji-hye tries to imagine a certain thing she can use for her demonstration.
"Uhhh... I don't know what should i summon give a bit."
Ji-hye thinks hard and suddenly she thinks of her smartphone that is in her pocket.
"Smartphone" she says, and with a wave of her hand, her phone appears in her hand.
The king and the queen are shocked by the sudden appearance of a magical object.
"A mirror!" the queen exclaims, her eyes wide.
"No, its a phone" Ji-hye explains, holding it up.
"Its a phone" Kashigami rephrases, looking around at the royal couple with a slightly lazy expression.
"Oh, wait you know what this is?" Ji-hye asks, her eyes widening.
"No. I'm still playing along." Kashigami answers with a shrug, his expression deadpan.
"Well, anyway. Its a phone. its a communication device."
"Show us, How does it work?" the king and queen ask, both intrigued now.
Ji-hye is allowed to move towards the throne.
"Oh, just press the button"
The duo looks at Ji-hye confusingly.
"This one, just press it"
"How? Is there some kind of spell I need to chant?"
"No. its a button."
"There is nothing on it" the queen observes
"Just press the damn button."
"OHHH, THE LIGHT, ITS MAGIC WITHOUT ANY INCARNATION!" the king exclaims, his voice filled with surprise.
"Its not magic." Ji-hye replies, sighing in frustration.
"What is this, what are those little things" the queen asks, pointing at the notification bar on the screen.
"Notification bar?.....?" Ji-hye mutters, feeling a bit defeated by their lack of understanding.
Ji-hye now frustrated.
"I think I don't have the power to explain this."
"No shit." Kashigami comments
"Ok, so the thing on top of this is the date and the year, the one on the bottom is the time." she muttrers
"I have seen similar things on the astrologers devices" the king answers
"And what are those little symbols?" the queen asks
"That's an icon.."Ji-hye mutters, Ji-hye tired now.
Ji-hye now frustrated.
"How does it work?"
"Umm.. its a bit complicated" Ji-hye responds, clearly losing patience.
"Then, we should take this back to the researchers!" the king says, excited by the potential discovery.
"Oh no, no, no, no, no" Ji-hye protests, clutching the phone to her chest.
"No, No, No, No, no" Kashigami plays along, still not caring much.
"You cant do that.." Ji-hye starts, a little panicked.
"Why? its a magical device we've never seen before, its obviously worth research." the king answers
"If it leaves its owner, it detonates causing a huge explosion that can destroy a whole building with the core it has inside it which powers it" Ji-hye explains, her face dead serious while completely lying.
"What" The king and the queen answer in surprise
"WHAT" the king and queen both shout together, clearly horrified.
"Yeah, and if you try to mess with the inside of this thing, it will explode. So please don't.."
"WHAT, WHAT, WHAT, WHY IS IT GOING TO EXPLODE???" the king asks, still horrified
"Because of its safety feature, it can emit light. it has a lot of energy. Just give it to me" Ji-hye takes the phone and casts the spell again to put it inside her pocket.
"So you can do summoning magic.." the king says slowly, his disbelief still evident.
"Yup and well many other kinds. I'm a mage that travels the world.." Ji-hye answers, sounding somewhat more confident now.
"Well, we'll have to see your skills on another time." the king answers, still processing everything.
"Yeah!" Ji-hye exclaims, her energy returning.
"So, about my daughter. Can you teach her magic?" the queen asks, looking expectantly at Ji-hye.
"Uhhhh, what?" Ji-hye asks, clearly caught off guard.
"Please, We have been looking for a teacher that can teach her magic since she is 12 years old now" the queen continues, practically pleading.
"Umm... im not sure how to teach magic" Ji-hye answers, nervously scratching her head.
"Who taught you magic" the king asks.
"My brother here teaches me magic!" Ji-hye answers quickly, turning to Kashigami with a bright smile.
Kashigami thinks to himself....."Why is she smiling..."
"Well, if your brother here can teach our daughter, he'll be paid handsomely!" the king exclaims eagerly.
"Yes! Yes! And we'll provide you and him with a good home in the castle to stay in!" the queen adds, practically jumping for joy.
"Uhh.....Would you please give me a minute?" Ji-hye asks, turning towards Kashigami with a desperate look.
"Why were you smiling at me???" Kashigami shouts in denial.
Ji-hye looks towards him with pleading eyes
"Please do it!" Ji-hye says, her eyes pleading
"Nuh uh. Why should i?" Kashigami asks, crossing his arms, refusing to budge.
"Noble boys- I mean we'll have a place to live!" Ji-hye tries again, her voice much softer now.
"I can just make a place for us to live with magic" Kashigami replies, completely unfazed.
"Well, I want to live in a castle!" Ji-hye argues, her tone suddenly more determined.
"Well, I dont want to teach magic to another stupid kid. " Kashigami responds, his tone bitter.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN ANOTHER? Im not stupid!" Ji-hye shouts.
"Youre right, youre a dumbass" Kashigami says taunting her.
"WHAT" Ji-hye shouts, her face bright red with anger.
"Yes. you are." Kashigami replies with a shrug.
"Please?" Ji-hye says, almost pleading.
"Because I don't want to teach some princess how to do magic. What if she turns out to be like you, a country destroying calamity" Kashigami argues.
"Oh right fair. You know what, I got this! Come with me!" Ji-hye says with a sly grin, her confidence returning.
Ji-hye turns back to the king and queen and tries to cook another lie.
"I am so sorry your majesties but my brother here is a very shy and awkward guy who is afraid." She gives a small smile, hoping they'll buy it.
"Oh, well so he doesn't want to be her tutor?." the king asks, his tone slightly disappointed.
"No no, you see, since he's a virgin and I'm his sister, he finds it easy to teach me, in his place, I'll teach your daughter magic!" Ji-hye says, quickly backpedaling.
"Perfect! So you're both staying in the castle, yes?" the queen asks, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Yes, your highness!" Ji-hye says enthusiastically, bowing slightly.
"You two rest up, ill send the head maid to get you two sorted. I apologize for treating two great mages like this, You can teach her tomorrow morning" the king says, waving them off.
Ji-hye bows again, trying not to burst into laughter at the absurdity of it all, while Kashigami just stands staring at her, dumbfounded
"What the hell was that??? A virgin???" Kashigami shouts, his voice filled with disbelief.
"I think they wont mind if a girl teaches the princess" Ji-hye says with a wicked grin.
"Ok then. So you're gonna teach a 12 year old princess magic? Are you sure you can do it?" Kashigami asks, a little amused.
"Yeah, It can't be that hard right?" Ji-hye whines.
"You're right, It can't be that hard she wouldn't be as bratty as you" he teases.
"OH MY GOD, CAN YOU actually be nice to me for once?" she shouts.
