Juliet stormed into the office, her heels clicking on the floor. She didn't bother to drop off her bag or say good morning to her coworkers. Instead, she marched straight to Leonard's office.
"Mr. Grant, can I have a word with you?" Juliet asked, her voice firm but controlled.
Leonard looked up from his computer, a hint of surprise on his face. "Of course, Juliet. What's this about?"
Juliet took a deep breath before launching into her question. "I want to know why you keep staring at me, Mr. Grant. It's making me uncomfortable."
Leonard leaned back in his chair, a hint of amusement on his face. "Isn't it weird that you're complaining about this on your first week of work resumption?"
Juliet felt a flush rise to her cheeks, but she refused to back down. "No, it's not weird. I just want to know what's going on."
Leonard's expression turned serious. "Juliet, I admire your hard work and dedication. That's all."
Juliet narrowed her eyes, unsatisfied with the answer. "That's not all, Mr. Grant. I've caught you staring at me multiple times, and it's not just about my work."
Leonard's eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. Juliet felt a shiver run down her spine as she sensed the tension between them.
"I think that's enough for now, Juliet," Leonard said finally, his voice low and husky. "Let's focus on your work, shall we?"
Juliet felt a surge of frustration, but she knew she had to tread carefully. She nodded, trying to keep her emotions in check.
"Yes, Mr. Grant."
As she left Leonard's office, Juliet couldn't shake off the feeling that she had just scratched the surface of something much deeper.
Leonard couldn't help but smile at her as she walks out of his office.
