Chapter 6 - Distance

After Mrs. Thompson's visit, Juliet felt a shift within herself. She couldn't believe she'd been so blind to Leonard's marital status. The guilt and shame washed over her, making her question her own morals.

As she went about her day, Juliet made a conscious decision to distance herself from Leonard. She became more focused on her work, avoiding eye contact and small talk with the CEO.

Gone were the days of lingering gazes and flirtatious smiles, even though it was a bit of discomfort to her, she loved how his eyes lingered all over her.

Juliet's new mantra was: "Let me do my work and go home."

Leonard seemed taken aback by Juliet's sudden change in behavior. He'd try to engage her in conversation, but Juliet would politely brush him off, citing deadlines and tasks.

The tension between them was palpable, and the office began to notice. Rachel, Leonard's assistant, would occasionally glance at Juliet with a mixture of curiosity and concern.

But Juliet didn't care. She was determined to maintain a professional distance, no matter how difficult it seemed.

As the days turned into weeks, Juliet found herself falling into a comfortable routine. She'd arrive at the office, complete her tasks, and leave without any drama or distractions.

But deep down, Juliet knew she couldn't keep this up forever. The attraction between her and Leonard still simmered, waiting to boil over.
