Chapter 39 - 39. Witch of the west return

AT THE SAME TIME

THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW:

Michael and Terrence arrived at the castle, their faces red with frustration and disbelief. They had just witnessed something that had shattered everything they thought they knew. They were supposed to be Wanessa's mates, but what they had seen... it had destroyed that illusion. Queen Clara and King William looked up from their thrones as they entered, their expressions concerned. But it didn't take long for them to see the storm cloud hanging over their sons.

"What's wrong?" Queen Clara asked, her voice filled with maternal concern, though she could already sense the tension in the air.

Michael slammed his hand down on the table, his anger barely contained.

"It's over. She's chosen him, Xavier. She marked her. She's his now."Michael said angrily.

King William's brow furrowed, and he stood up slowly.

"What do you mean, 'she's chosen him'?"King asked.

Terrence took a deep breath, shaking his head as he spoke.

"We thought... we thought Wanessa was our mate, too. But Xavier, he's marked her. And now there's... there's someone else inside her. Wren. A second soul. The two of them are bound together, and we have nothing."Terrence explained angrily.

The room fell into stunned silence. Queen Clara's eyes darted to King William, her lips parted in shock, but she remained composed. Magnus, who had been standing nearby, stepped forward.

"You should have known." Magnus said quietly, his words weighing heavily on them. "The bond was never meant to be split between three of you."

Michael's eyes widened with frustration.

"What are you talking about? We were meant to be with her. All three of us. We're her mates! You knew this, didn't you? "Michael growled.

Magnus nodded slowly, his ancient gaze unwavering.

"You were always meant to be a part of her life, yes. But the bond was never meant to be divided. Wanessa and Wren... they are one soul, tied to Xavier. She's always been his, even before you knew it. You had chance but wasted it."Elder said.

Terrence's hands clenched into fists.

"So that's it? We've lost her? She chose him, and we have no say in this?"Terrence growled.

Queen Clara's expression softened, though there was sadness in her eyes.

"I know this is difficult, but the bond between Xavier and Wanessa was always stronger than you realized. It was fate, there was no way to change it. And now, you must accept it." Queen Clara said.

Michael's voice was full of anger and disbelief.

"We lost her. All this time, we thought we were her mates, and now she's with him. She chose him over us."Michael said.

Terrence shot a glance at Magnus, his frustration rising. "You knew this would happen, didn't you? You let us think we had a chance."Terrence said.

Magnus gave a solemn nod, his expression unreadable.

"I did. But I also knew it wouldn't change the outcome. The bond between them was inevitable."Elder said.

"So that's it? We're just supposed to walk away? Let them have her?"Michael

growled.

King William sighed, his face grim.

"No one is telling you to walk away. But you must accept the truth. Wanessa has chosen Xavier, and Wren is part of that choice. There is no going back from this."King said.

The brothers stood there in stunned silence, the reality of the situation sinking in. They had thought they were the ones meant for Wanessa, but in the end, it had all been for nothing. Out of nowhere the heavy doors to the chamber swung open with a loud crash. All heads turned to see Isabella, once a priestess, now exiled, enter the room with an air of certainty. Her long robes swirled behind her. She didn't care that the royal family was present. She didn't care about the anger radiating from Michael and Terrence.

"What is it now, Isabella?"Queen asked.

Isabella didn't even acknowledge her.

"I have a prophecy." She declared, her voice cutting through the tension. "A prophecy from the Priest and the Witch of the West."

The room stilled. Terrence took a step forward, his voice low but filled with frustration.

"The Witch of the West? She's a myth, a ghost from the past! What does she have to do with any of this?"Terrence said.

Isabella's lips curled into a sharp smile.

"Myths have a nasty habit of coming true. And the Witch of the West is no exception."Isabella said.

The air in the room thickened, like a storm was about to break. King William's eyes narrowed.

"What do you mean, 'she's no exception'? Speak plainly, Isabella."King said.

"She's returning. The Witch of the West has awakened. And with her, she brings the power to tear apart what you thought was unbreakable." Isabella said coldly.

"So what does this mean for us? That Xavier's bond with Wanessa doesn't matter?" Terrence asked.

Isabella didn't look at him, instead focusing on the royal couple.

"This isn't just about Xavier and Wanessa. This is about the fate of all of you. The Witch's return means that everything you've been building the alliances, the bonds, the kingdoms will fall apart."Isabella said.

"What does the prophecy say about her return?"Elder asked.

"The prophecy says that the Witch will unravel everything. She is tied to Wanessa and Xavier's bond. It is the key. And it will either bind them or destroy them all."Isabella said.

"We're supposed to just sit here and wait for her to tear everything apart?" Terrence glared at Isabella, barely holding back his anger.

"You don't get it. She will come for you. She will test everything, every bond you think you have. Especially you, Michael. Especially you, Terrence."Isabella said darkly.

"You're saying Wanessa's choice means nothing? That we don't even get a chance to fight for her?"Michael asked.

"You've already lost. The Witch's return changes everything. The prophecy warns that those who try to defy fate... will be consumed by it."Isabella said coldly.

The room went cold as the weight of her words hit everyone like a hammer.

Queen Clara's face had paled. "So it's true. We were right to fear this."Queen said.

"Oh, it's true. The Witch is coming for all of you... and this time, she won't be stopped. Not even by your bonds or your so called fates."Isabella said coldly.

Michael and Terrence stood frozen, the anger in their eyes slowly turning to uncertainty. The fight for Wanessa was now nothing compared to the darkness that loomed ahead. All of them had to combine their powers together to win against the Witch of the West.
