"Hey."
Daniel called out to Alice, who was speaking with one of her friends.
As she turned and saw him, a smile appeared on her face.
"Hey Daniel. What's going on? You said you wanted to see me."
Daniel scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, mentally going over his words.
"Nothing much to be honest. Umm... I just wanted to apologize for yesterday."
She laughed a bit.
"If anyone is apologizing, it should be me. I was the one who wanted to 'r*pe' you anyways."
"You got jokes huh?" Daniel smiled, secretly sighing in relief. "So are you going to apologize then?" He raised his eyebrows.
Alice rolled her eyes.
"I'm so sorry, your lordship, for trying to bring you estacy."
They laughed for a bit, then we're silent, looking in each other's eyes.
"So, all good?" Daniel gestured.
"All good."
A warm hug.
Followed by a mischievous peck on Daniel's chhek.
"I will take my revenge." Daniel said in all seriousness while rubbing his cheek.
"You'll try." She chuckled.
"Like you have the heart to say no." He scoffed playfully.
"Oh. I have the heart to say and do many things." She bit her lips, tracing him up and down.
Daniel coughed awkwardly, changing the topic.
"So are you free? Let me at least take you on a proper date."
"Unfortunately no. My department has some sort of mandatory orientation. I really wish I was free." She sighed and said.
Daniel was immediately disappointed.
"It's all goo-"
*BOOM*
A flash. An explosion that only he could hear resounded in Daniel's head, and when the booming was over...
¥|•π`{ &₦√|^|™
'What is that?'
¥|•π`{ &₦√|^|™
'Make it STOP!!!'
The whispers rang in his ear like an annoying alarm clock. He could see nothing, feel nothing, and say nothing.
He could only think, and listen.
Listen to the maddening whispers.
'AAAAARRGGHHH!!-'
Silence.
"Unfortunately no. My department has some sort of mandatory orientation. I really wish I was free." Alice sighed and said.
Daniel stared at her in confusion, feeling a wierd sense of deja vu.
*DING*
Alice glanced at her phone briefly.
"Wow. They literally just cancelled it!" She looked up to see Daniel still frozen with his mouth agape. She waved in front of his face.
"Hello~. Are you good?"
He snapped back to reality with a nervous smile.
"Yeah, what's up?"
"I said they cancelled the orientation. Are you sure you're good?" She asked again, a bit worried at his off expression.
"Yeah, it's probably the stress from the week. You know what, go get ready, let's meet at your hostel gates in fifteen minutes." He assured her.
"But, shouldn't you rest of you're stressed?"
"Don't worry about that. Just go get dressed." He patted her on the shoulder and gave her a kiss on the lips acting like the floating symbols he was seeing next to her and everyone else around was a figment of the imagination.
He watched as she left, but when he turned around, his expression turned nervous.
'Yeah. Probably stress...'
Probably.

It's here y'all. The good part.😁
For all that were able to last to now, you have my admiration. Like I said before, the last few chapters have been character and plot building, leading up to this point.
So, for my honoured readers, please, enjoy...
