A man in his late 50s was working at a construction site when he suddenly fell unconscious. people rushed to his aide
and rushed him to the hospital
Hazel was going about her normal routine at the restaurant. serving customers and taking orders when she had a call, at first she ignored it when she saw the number was unknown .. thinking it was one of those scammers..
the phone rang again and this time she picked it ready to rain insults on the person at the other end , but was suddenly interrupted by the urgency in the persons voice, it was a woman's voice.
is this Ms.. hazel Roberts? Hazel replied , yes this is she? .. moments later Hazel rushed out the restaurant and stopped a taxi
she was running breathlessly as she got out of the taxi towards the emergency room.
her blue eyes burning with tears and her forehead beaded with sweat
she was stopped by one of the nurses,
excuse me miss", are you Ms Roberts?,"
the nurse asked her and Victoria nodded her heard immediately.
y.yes am Hazel Roberts I had a call my father fainted again and was rushed to the hospital. how is my father doing ? .. will be alright? can I see him?.
Victoria asked the nurse breaking slightly. the nurse calmed her down and assured her that the doctor will take care of her father?
Victoria stood in the hall.. with her emotions bubbling to the surface.. she leaned against the wall sliding down slowly as tears rolled down the cheeks. she closed her eyes and sobbed uncontrollably.
as she thought why this happening to her? first her beloved mother and now her father? she sat down for a while recalling painful memories from the past which caused her intense pain in her heart..
the doors opened as the doctor stepped out. He walked up to her.
miss roberts?", Hazel nodded her head "your father's condition has worsened, we need to start the surgery immediately else am Afraid it will be too late. Hazel slowly nodded her head and went to see her father ,he laid on the hospital bed immobile. this broke her heart .. her father was such a good man how could this happen to him? were the heavens against her??
Hazel held her father hands and kissed it. she thought to herself that she needed to do something to raise some money for her father's surgery. she thought hard of a way to get money as they could barely afford a proper meal..
and her current job as a waitress doesn't fetching enough mone. she felt helpless...
her thoughts were distracted as the nurse came in to check on the patient..
she explained to Hazel some basic things and also gave information on when her father could be discharged.
A week passed and Hazel was walking out of the hospital with her father..
"hazel dear child don't worry about your old man hmm? you know am a strong one. Mr Roberts was trying to ease his daughter's worry but she only shook her head with a slight smile
days passed passed by with hazel going in and out of companies looking for a job. but to no avail.. Hazel sat on a bench at the train station frustrated when a familiar figure caught her eye...
she recognized this person how could she not!!! ? Kate?!!!" this person turned her head to the calling of her name ...
"no way!! hazel?!! .. they run into each other's embrace ..
Kate and hazel where good friends back in highschool.. unfortunately kate had to go abroad to further her studies upon graduation . And had come back to the city for some work .. she was so happy to see her friend as she had lost contact with her and missed her so much
they chatted and laughed their hearts out recalling their childish past.. the two girls were happy to see each other until Kate asked hazel the college she graduated from?.. hazel became silent with a sad expression on her face. she looked away and told Kate everything that happened to her. and how she's now looking for a job to help her father with his surgery... Kate was deeply sad for hazel. she wiped the tears off Hazel's face and told her everything will be alright... the two girls exchanged contacts and went their separate ways after a long talk .
