The sun was at it's highest peak, casting a sterile glow on the pristine white walls. hazel fidgeted with the strap of her handbag, her palms damp with nervous sweat.
Mr Brown, came back with his usual stern face, he announced to the applicants one last time on his boss's arrival in 10 minutes. "Mr. stern will be with you shortly," he said.
hazel glanced at the watch on her wrist . two minutes. four minutes. six minutes.
Each tick of the second hand seemed to amplify her anxiety. She smoothed down her skirt, combined her fingers through her hair , she didn't want to leave a bad expression and tried to calm her racing heart. This interview was important. She needed this job.
moments later clicking sounds could be heard from a distance. instant panic set in for hazel she didn't dare look up, the steps got closer and closer and finally two feets
covered with the most unique design of boots ever, stood in front of them. It fitted his legs perfectly.
hazel along with the other applicants stood up in respect but hazel didn't dare raise her head.
The man standing before them wasn't an ordinary person, he was tall and had an imposing figure. he exuded an aura of great power.
An energy that draws others to him is an intimidating way. Mr. stern finally spoke breaking the silence.. " Alright everyone we can begin by telling your name and why you should be chosen for their job"
the atmosphere was filled with nervousness but each applicants made the introductions and gave their reasons.
until it got to Hazel's turn.. her head was still lowered..
" did you come here knowing fully well that you have a broken neck?" Mr stern coldly remarked .
Hazel's heart skipped a beat , she had beads of sweat on her forehead. she remembered Kate's warning and slowly raised her head..
she looked at him in the eyes He was younger than she had expected, his hair, raven and long , flowing like river down his shoulders, his face sculptured into perfection, his eyes the color of silver, covered with thick long lashes , his thin lips and strong and sharp jawline giving him a more predatory look.
hazel felt her heart beat, he was... he was so beautiful and frightening she thought to herself.. " My name is hazel sir" she finally spoke . She suddenly froze feeling freighted.. something felt off.. this man.. the way.... the way he was staring at her.
