Oliver drove the car to the base. He drove for a very long time. I was very worried thinking that ben was not who he seems to be. I was still looking for an escape route when I saw a metal wall that seems to be surrounding something large. Was this the base Ben was talking about. Oliver stopped the car at the gate and honked twice. It was not a loud honk.
Then the gate to the base was opened and two men came out. One of the men walked to the car
"Hey Oliver, how's everything?" Then he turned to Ben and asked in a soft tone "Did you guys see anything weird?"
Oliver didn't say anything and I even wondered some times if he has ever said anything before. At first i thought he was mute but I can see now that he does not want to talk.
"Everything's great, Noah" Ben answered in his hoarse and deep voice. "And what's more weird than zombies that has superpowers". Ben sighed.
The man named Noah looked sad and he sighed heavily when he looked at me and oh boy, he looked shocked. I thought that he was even acting like he didn't see me (or probably didn't even see me at all) but it seems that he was so focused on Ben and Oliver.
"Hey man, who's this chick behind you? I thought you went to search for supplies and crystals but it seems you went meet your girl." It wasn't Noah who said these words rather it was the second man that wasn't here before. When did he even get here.
Noah also looked at Ben with questioning eyes. Ben raised his hands above his head and looked at me
"Oh come on guys, this is my friend. I thought she was dead since I couldn't reach her ever since the apocalypse started. But I met her on the way. Talk of luck right?".
Then Noah and Vicky (the second man's name) allowed me in without collecting lots of food from me. I wasss very grateful to them especially Ben and Oliver. They let us in and I got down from the car. Then a woman came to search my body for any injury especially zombie bites. After searching the woman saw that I wasn't injured so she let me go. Ben gave me another set of supplies to give to an agent who would in turn give me a room. I rented a room for six months with the supplies Ben gave me.
I was so grateful to Ben. I wanted to give him something in return for the help he has done for me but I was broke. So I decided to clean the room and go out to work the next day. Then I heard a knock on the door and I opened it to see Ben and Oliver and they were holding a plastic bag.
"Hey..... Um..... We thought you could need some help". I let them in and then we started cleaning.
After a while, we finished cleaning and arranging. Ben brought out a container and there was food in it.
"I thought that since you just got here you probably wouldn't have food to eat so I decided to bring some"
"Thank you..... Like... You can't imagine how grateful I am right now". I said while tearing up. We hugged and then ate the food. When we were through Ben and Oliver left and I slept on the bed. I knew that I was safe here and I wasn't with those thugs. I don't know how I teleported but I am grateful for everything.
'Tomorrow's another day'. I smiled.
