Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Actually, I've Never Been to School

[3rd POV]

"Wonderful lesson. To be honest, even I wouldn't dare bring a laptop to the Clock Tower. El-Melloi II, you're really unusual."

After the class, Touko approached her "old friend" to greet him, causing him to be startled, and instinctively stepped back to create some distance.

"If you have something to say, just say it and the fact that you came to the Clock Tower just after your seal was lifted. You've got quite a few enemies if I remember correctly."

He certainly didn't want to get involved with such a dangerous individual if possible.

"Actually, it's nothing serious. I just wanted to use your classroom to convey my "interest" in that stone tablet."

She glanced at the students who were still whispering, clearly feeling that her goal had been achieved.

"A distraction?"

"Exactly. A little show for my sister. After all, dealing with a magician is never a simple task."

She had quietly set up a small soundproof barrier earlier, and the students couldn't hear the rest of the conversation.

Then, she spoke about her plan to deal with her own sister.

"However, a trick like this really works on a magi?"

He had his doubts.

Even though that "human missile launcher" wasn't as powerful as the Grand, no one could underestimate true magic.

"Some things are better left unsaid."

She said this and then left, carrying the long, narrow box on her back.

"A distraction, huh? Ugh... why do I feel like I've just been used?"

He suddenly felt uneasy, as if unknowingly stepped into a trap.

The "distraction" Touko mentioned was, of course, the holy sword inside the box.

The Servant Marisbury Animusphere truly wanted to summon was never the so-called Vortigern's Blade.

Originally, this matter had nothing to do with her, but when she tried to get her hand on this holy sword, Marisbury took the opportunity to sell it to her, practically emptying her entire savings.

If she doesn't get revenge, she won't be a real Aozaki.

If it weren't for the contract binding her, she wouldn't just be giving a casual warning and stripping Marisbury of everything he had.

"Tch~ This is troublesome. After this trip, I won't even be able to cover the expenses. I just hope the Ryougi family will accept an IOU."

Touko thought about an old friend she hadn't seen in five years.

Those two were probably married by now.

However, with the Ryougi family's background, the next time she meets that guy, Mikiya Kokutou, he probably won't even be Kokuto anymore.

"Aoko, it's time to settle things between us."

Touko boarded a plane back home.

Finally, everything from the past should come to an end.

She had to defeat the sister who had ruined her life, and only then could she prove herself to everyone.

...

"Hey, Fujimaru-kun, this isn't a place for love fortunes."

Issei Ryuudou looked at the man and woman who had come to his temple early in the morning.

The man was fine and he could be considered one of his troublesome friends but the woman... she was his worst nightmare.

"Who's here for love fortune? Do you really think I'd be interested in him?"

Rin stomped her feet in frustration.

The scene where she hastily took Kyouya away from school quickly became the talk of the school, and now she didn't know how to face anyone at school.

"And you, why don't you clarify things?"

"Why should I? The more you explain a rumor, the worse it gets. If we just let time pass, it'll fade away naturally."

He spoke as if he had everything figured out, but being connected to a school beauty in a rumor?

Even his dad would give him a thumbs-up for that. Not bragging about it was already an act of kindness.

"This time, I came to borrow some Buddhist scriptures from your temple."

"Buddhist scriptures? Are you planning to change or something?"

Issei was greatly surprised.

He hadn't expected this ruthless individual, known for solving problems with his fists, to want to read Buddhist scriptures.

It seemed like Ryuudou Temple might be ready to make an exception for him.

"The scriptures are in this room. You two can read as much as you like but don't damage anything. Also, this is a sacred place, so don't go doing—"

"Who would do that?"

Afterward, Rin shyly closed the door while Issei silently sighed.

Young people sure have a lot of temper. A boy and a girl alone in a room… It wouldn't be surprising if trouble started in just a few days.

"I hope you're ready with some safety precautions."

"Safety precautions? Is there any dangerous place in the Ryuudou Temple?"

Suddenly, a soft, weak female voice came through, her tone indicating she might be sick for a long time.

"Miss Sessyoin, shouldn't you be resting? Please don't push yourself too hard."

Issei turned to the frail young girl.

She was younger than him by a few years but carried a wisdom beyond her age, along with an innocence that didn't quite fit into the real world.

"It's no problem, going out for a walk can help with my recovery."

Kiara Sessyoin, the daughter of the head of the Shingon Tachikawa Eternal Heaven Sect.

She was born with a serious illness, and it was said she wouldn't live past the age of fourteen. Now, as her time seemed to be running out, her father could no longer sit idly by and took her out of the mountains to the big city for treatment.

After spending a lot of money, her condition has finally stabilized and even started improving.

At this moment, the father and daughter are now staying as wandering monks at the Ryuudou Temple.

"My classmate is interested in Buddhist scriptures, so I simply lent them some, nothing serious. It was just a joke between classmates."

"Classmates? How wonderful... I've never been to school."

Kiara spoke with a hint of sadness.

She had been weak and sick since childhood and had always been kept in the mountains. She didn't even have a single friend, let alone go to school.

"Since Miss Sessyoin will be staying here for a while, how about I introduce you to them later?"

Seeing Kiara like this, Issei couldn't help but feel sympathy.

He heard that her father was even willing to sell a relic from a high monk to treat her illness.

These extreme actions show just how much her father loves her.

He truly hoped her illness would get better soon.

...

"So why did you lock the door? I, Fujimaru Kyouya, am not that kind of person."

He looked at the locked door with a strange expression.

"Idiot, if it weren't for the secrecy of magecraft, who would want to be in this situation?"

Rin stamped her foot in frustration.

Originally, she had planned to have him teach her magecraft at her house, but then she realized that if he found out she was terrible with electronics, she'd be in trouble.

A high school girl who can't even use a TV...

Once that "weakness" fell into Kyouya's hands, she would never be able to hold her head up in front of her own disciple for the rest of her life.

To be continued...

A/N: The next simulation will be from Lubu's era or the Three Kingdom's history of China, but I will skip this arc and proceed on the Sengoku period with Miyamoto Musashi and Oda Nobunaga.
