Chapter 5: A Night to Remember
The day of the New Year's party arrived, and Ji-Hyun's hard work paid off. The office was transformed into a stunning winter wonderland, complete with twinkling lights, frosty blue decorations, and a majestic Christmas tree.
Min-Soo approached Ji-Hyun, a rare smile on his face. "You've done an excellent job," he said, his voice tinged with approval. "As a token of appreciation, I'd like to invite you to join us for the party tonight."
Ji-Hyun's eyes widened in surprise, but she quickly accepted the invitation.
As the night wore on, Ji-Hyun found herself letting loose and enjoying the music, food, and company. She had a bit too much to drink, and before she knew it, she was giggling uncontrollably and stumbling around.
Min-Soo watched her with an amused expression, but as the night wore on, he began to look concerned. He excused himself from the party and made his way over to Ji-Hyun.
"I think it's time I got you home," he said, his voice firm but gentle.
Ji-Hyun nodded, still giggling, and Min-Soo helped her into his car.
As they drove through the quiet streets, Ji-Hyun's words began to slur, and she started to ramble on about Min-Soo's arrogance and condescending attitude.
Min-Soo listened patiently, his expression unreadable, as Ji-Hyun's insults flew thick and fast.
