Samantha's words hung in the air, heavy with implication. Ethan and Rachel exchanged a determined glance.
"What's the plan?" Ethan asked, his voice low and urgent.
Samantha hesitated, glancing nervously around the café. "They're going to create a diversion," she said. "A massive explosion in the city center. While everyone is distracted, they'll sneak into the mayor's office and take control."
Rachel's eyes narrowed. "We need to stop them," she said.
Ethan nodded. "We'll need a team. Can we trust anyone?"
Samantha thought for a moment. "There's one person," she said. "A former cop named Marcus. He's been working undercover, trying to take down The Syndicate from the inside."
Ethan's eyes lit up. "Let's get him on board," he said.
As they made their way to Marcus's location, Ethan couldn't shake the feeling that they were running out of time. The Syndicate's plan was already in motion, and they were the only ones who could stop it.
But as they arrived at Marcus's safehouse, Ethan's heart sank. The door was open, and Marcus was nowhere to be found.
A note on the table read: "Too late. The Syndicate has me. You're next."
Ethan's eyes locked onto Rachel's. They were in grave danger, and they knew it.
