Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Vampires

"Viktor! Viktor! Viktor! Help your mother buy groceries and later I'll show you something coo- You got to stop doing that you fool!"

Dmitri Maximoff heart spiked as his son, Viktor Maximoff, appeared behind him as he was about to look at his son's room.

"…-"

"WHY ARE YOU CALLING OUR SON A FOOL, YOU FOOL!"

Before Viktor could even say anything, an angry voice can be heard at the door, Dmitri facepalmed as once again, terror had arrived at the right time. His wife Yelena Maximoff was here.

"Vik, help me." Dmitri muttered to Viktor who shook his head with a sigh,

"You're on your own dad. You should've already known at this time that mother will arrive home. I'll be back later with the groceries."

"And where do you think you're going young man? Don't you have something else to do?"

Viktor sighed as he went up with his little body towards his mom and gestured for a hug. Yelena picked him up and hugged him tightly, "Be careful on the way Vik, there had been rumors of kidnappings of children here lately. I know you're strong and fast but…"

"I know mom, but don't worry I can easily run towards the guards here. It's only a 5-minute walk there anyways."

Dmitri glanced at his son and Wife. Viktor was… strong for his age. In fact, too strong. 2 years ago, he saw his son jumping of roof tops like it was nothing and doing weighted exercises in his room which he reluctantly supported with the consent of Yelena… all of this happened when Viktor was only 6 years old.

"Alright, could you ask Aunt Caroline when is the reunion when you get to the market? And now you Dmitri, what are you even-"

'And he's doing good in school too…' Dmitri looked at the papers he was holding, it was the grading sheet of his class, and he was 1st place. He then glanced at the papers framed on the walls, all of it were blueprints for different devices. He wasn't sure what these devices were for it was as Viktor said it was a means for a toy, but he was sure that it held importance. He was sure that his son was a genius of sorts and that's why he and his wife tried to give him the best childhood.

His wife was still lecturing him however it all fell on deaf ears, a technique that men would master if they're with their partner all the time.

It had already been 8 years since my birth in this world and surprisingly, I had not been assassinated yet by the Arbitrators who oversee the balance of this universe. This consists of prime Master Biblia and notably Aries Chaldea, The Arbitrator of Time, who is usually the one hunting for anomalies in the realms, having a similar ability to the Kaleidoscope of Zeltrech in Fate.

It is unfortunate but I still don't know what world I'm in Trinity Seven however I am certain that I'm born in Europe in a middle-class family. The town was large compared to my hometown, honestly, I was still getting lost since the buildings all look the same as they had that 19th century type design to it.

My Heavenly Restriction was active than ever, everything was just clear to me. It greatly amplified my senses and provided me with this still growing body. However, I was still not sure if I would be able to improve it later or even use magic as a matter of fact since… I can't sense it yet…

Again, I wasn't sure of it as I hadn't tried it as in Trinity Seven, Magic is the very power that people possess to stay in existence. Mage's research and exercise this power that is deviated from the laws of the world. Which means, if one does not possess the power to stay in existence in that world or place, he or she may die, disappear, or lose control of themselves and become demons…

"Yo yo, it's him, it's him."

"Viktor the great!"

"Viktor! Come play with us!"

I glanced below the building to find my classmates playing football, I recognize most of them since they are the kids that who I regularly give my homework too in exchange for food…

"I'll play with you guys' next time; I still have to do something"

I dashed towards the hill far away from the Academy and my house, where there was this large tree perfect for slacking off and sleeping. This is also my go to place to practice everything.

"…Perhaps mother is right after all. Those kidnappings likely ended in killings… This is the smell of blood."

Viktor muttered as he appeared standing on top of the branch of the large tree. The wind carried a scent of blood however he couldn't pinpoint most of the possible killings due to the wind blowing in all directions today.

"…Vampires?"

He furrowed his eyes towards the strongest stench of blood, an alleyway, commonly used as a shortcut by his peers towards the Academy's playground and there he saw a man in vampire-ish attire and pointy ears.

"…Looks weak but considering that he likely has magic and connected to an Archive and researched done years of research on his Thema, my odds of winning are low."

He bit his lip in annoyance, Archives are the core of Magic in Trinity Seven, this is where a Magus draws power from. Superbia, Ira, Acedia, Invidia, Avaritia, Gula, Luxuria. These seven deadly sins act as Archives, and within them, you find a thema associated with that archive that will be the main focus of magical study for the magician or Magus.
