Chapter 6 - A Moment of Comfort

A soft groan escaped Jisso's lips as she slowly opened her eyes. A dull ache pounded in her head, and her vision blurred momentarily before settling.

As her surroundings came into focus, she saw Rai lying comfortably in front of her, his green eyes sparkling with amusement. Kanata sat at the corner of the bed, gazing at her with an unreadable expression, while Subaru was seated on the couch, his arms crossed and his gaze sharp.

Rai: "Ara ara, the sleepyhead has finally woken up."

Jisso sighed, trying to push herself up.

Subaru (suddenly standing and stepping closer): "How are you feeling now?"

Jisso: "I... I'm fine. Thank you."

Subaru nodded, satisfied with her answer, and without another word, he turned and left the room, leaving the three of them alone.

Kanata continued to stare at her intently, his eyes unwavering.

Jisso (awkwardly): "W-why are you… staring at me?"

Kanata (calmly): "Just thinking about how fragile you humans are. You can't even bear your own past… so how can you bear the pain of this villa, your so-called inheritance?"

Jisso clenched her fists, determination flashing in her eyes.

Jisso: "I believe that if my father could bear it, then why not me? I can bear it too."

Rai (chuckling): "Oi oi oi, don't you think you're in no shape to get all worked up?"

Jisso: "But he—"

Before she could finish, the door swung open and Subaru walked back in, holding a tray with a glass of water and some medicine. His gaze was stern as he placed it on the table beside her.

Subaru: "Can't you two keep quiet for sometime."

Jisso: "But he started it!"

Kanata (raising an eyebrow): "Really?"

Jisso: "Yeah! And don't make that face at me."

Subaru sighed in frustration, rubbing his temples.

Subaru (raising his voice): "Shut up, both of you!"

Rai burst into laughter.

Rai: "Chill, bro, chill."

Despite the tension, Jisso couldn't help but smile at their antics. For all the mystery and darkness surrounding the villa, there was something comforting about moments like these.
