"So you weren't meant for me? And I wasn't made for you?" She asked with a blank face.
"No, we were never meant to be. We were made for someone else and that's the reality we need to accept as soon as possible."
A bitter smile broke on Athena's lips.
Her current situation was looking so pathetic that Amara almost wanted to hand over Nicolas to her. The keyword here is almost but she couldn't because she had work to do and they involved him.
He had the most important part in her plans.
"So you are getting something I prayed my entire life for, and that too without praying. How lucky you are and how unfortunate I am that the god didn't even accept my sincere prays. You must be the God's favourite that he blessed you with the best," Athena said while looking at Amara with a broken smile.
Amara was confused as hell. She couldn't understand anything Athena was saying.
The pack she came from, a wolf never had a human mate. In fact, she was the only human in her previous pack.
Everyone else were omegas due to their weak wolf or due to not having a wolf even after turning the age.
Hence, she never knew that wolves can have human mates.
She was thinking that Athena was saying such things because Nicolas choose her over Athena.
"What do you mean?" She asked her.
"You will find out the answer to your question with time but you must know one thing and that is you are really lucky. I would have killed to be in your place but not anymore. I can't say that I am ok with everything but I am going to be ok. I have accepted my defeat. I should take my leave now. I will see you both at dinner," saying this Athena left.
She came here singing but she was leaving with a broken heart. That's how destiny was.
We could be laughing at one moment and cry on the next. And we could be crying at one moment and the next moment feel so blessed because life decides to bless us with all of the happiness of this entire earth.
Athena wasn't the villain of this story just because she is in love with Nicolas.
Loving someone isn't a crime. Being unlucky in love is just a tragedy and Athena was just another victim of it.
"She loves you," Amara finally opened her mouth.
"Sometimes loving someone isn't enough. It's like watering an already dead plant. We weren't meant to be together and I wholeheartedly pray that she meets her soulmate soon. As a friend, I want to see her happy and always cheerful. She is an amazing girl and she deserves all of the happiness of this entire world."
Amara was proud of Nicolas for wishing her happiness. She also knew that whatever he said might be harsh but was true.
Athena needed to be shown the mirror to move forward.
She also knew that had Nicolas not given her the final push, she would never leave him by herself.
"I hope for the same thing," Amara said.
"Aren't you mad at her? I mean she openly said that she doesn't like you and things," Nicolas said.
He was hoping the answer to be a no because he didn't want her future Luna to hate a member of her own pack.
He was also praying for Athena to not hate her future Luna.
Neither of them had any hand in what has happened. It was written in their fate way before their bodies were made.
Whatever was written for them is written by the greatest of writers and they decided to trust that writer with their entire heart.
"No, I don't hate her. In fact hate is such an heavy word. I don't even dislike her. I understand where she was coming from. She made it clear the moment she entered in this room that she is in love with you. Her reaction was valid."
"You are too understanding for your own good," Nicolas said with a chuckle.
"Thank you, I try to be. We don't know what someone else might be going through hence it's better if we keep our minds open to think about certain possibilities. By the way, the walk that you offered me before, is it still available?" Amara said with a smile.
"It obviously is. Let's go," Nicolas started walking and Amara was following him, hand in hand.
They didn't bother talking to each other on this journey. Both of them were thinking about what has happened earlier.
Even though they tried to act like that thing didn't affect them at all, it did affect them.
This entire thing was involving someone else's emotions. That someone was selflessly in love with one of them.
It wasn't her fault yet she was getting the punishment for having pure feelings.
Life was often to cruel to some but who knows when an magical moment appears and she gets more than what she hoped for.
Both of them were praying for Athena to find her soulmate as soon as possible so that she could get over this pain and be happy in life.
They were praying for her soulmate to be the perfect guy who is understating, loving and caring.
Someone who won't hesitate to share her pain, to give her a shoulder to cry or keep her head on when the worries about this world is making her head too heavy.
Someone who would accept her and love her a little bit more with each passing second.
The forest was so large that Amara was feeling like an ant in this.
The trees were so tall that she was afraid if someone climbs up a tree and luck by chance falls from it then they are going to lose their lives.
The nature was too mesmerizing for it's own good. The forest was scary yet she won't mind getting lost here.
They were thinking about random thoughts.
Amara was thinking how this earth is so big and beautiful. She was taken aback by how everything was created this perfectly.
She looked at her hands and looked at her fingers. It was so perfectly detailed.
So many lines were present there and most of them couldn't be even seen with naked eyes.
She took a deep breath, calming herself down.
Nature has always been a source of peace to her. She would forever find comfort in nature. No matter how hurt she is or how messed up her mind is, a single walk in the nature and she would feel recharged.
Nature had this invisible power over her. It would always restore her energy and enthusiasm.
She was sure that had nature not existed in this planet and she was left alone dealing with all of the things she has been through, she would have gone mad by now.
It was her comfort zone, her home.
Nature has always been like a comfort hug for her. She was in love with nature more than anything else in this entire world.
Nicolas was thinking about how his life has changed so much in one day. Even yesterday, he didn't love life as much as he does today.
The sole reason was her. She has already start to feel like home.
He can't remember the last time he was so comfortably holding someone's hand, let alone walking with them.
He wasn't the type of boy who used to find intimacy in a simple forehead kiss or holding hands or simply fingers touching accidentally.
But now, he has officially entered in his lover boy era. He never thought one could find this amount of peace just by holding someone's hand. He was so comfortable that he could fall asleep now.
They didn't know when one second became a minute and it became more than an hour.
They continued to walk and walk until they reached a beautiful pond.
Fog was guarding the pond from the naked gaze of others. It was surrounded by wild flowers that were so beautiful that Amara felt like they are called wild flowers because their beauty didn't know where to stop and continued to spread.
She so wanted to be like them. She wanted to be called a wild girl.
She thought it was such an beautiful compliment even though people don't mean anything good while using this term wild for something.
She wanted to be called a wild girl just so she could reply to them that wild flowers are called wild flowers because their beauty didn't know where to stop and continued to spread.
Similarly, she was called a wild girl for not limiting herself to a certain point.
She wanted to be wild and free. She wanted to experience all of the good things in this entire world. She wanted go diving, climb mountains, see the worlds most beautiful places, meet amazing people, learn new things.
But she has already select her destiny. She knew that once her secret is out, she will be dead.
Yet she couldn't stop her wild and free heart from dreaming.
There was something really dreamy about this forest. It seems to under a fairy's spell who has casted her magical spell all over the forest.
On the pond, they could see a few water lilies. The water was so clean that they could see their faces.
Amara felt like she was glowing today. She never felt this beautiful before. She never thought she was this beautiful till today's date.
She was feeling like a fairy herself, a absolute goddess, a queen and most importantly, a dream.
She looked at Nicolas who was already looking at her with a soft smile and she felt like her heart was beating really fast.
There was something about his gaze that made her breathing stop. It was so intense that she felt naked despite being fully clothed.
She felt like he could read her like an open book. His gaze made her feel like she was his favorite story to read over and over again.
She wanted to look into his eyes with the same intensity yet at the same time she wanted to look away and never look at his way, afraid that she might melt and her soul might get mixed with this clean and pure water.
Her reflection on the water got a little blurry and she could hear the sound of water splashing.
She looked before her eyes and saw two beautiful white swans swimming in the pond.
They were looking dreamy as well. Everything about today was dreamy.
Nicolas was the one making everything dreamy for her while Nicolas was feeling like everything was feeling so dreamy today only due to her existence.
They both felt like they could stay there for the rest of their lives.
Nicolas, who was standing still by then, decided to sit down on the grass beside Amara.
The grass was soft under their palms. Amara thought that grass was supposed to be super harsh but she was yet again proved wrong.
It was one of the moments where she didn't feel bad about getting proved wrong. She was rather ok with it and would open this conclusion with open arms.
Both of them felt like freezing this moment and stay here for the rest of their lives.
It was one of the very few moments where even a highly suicidal person would want to start living again.
One of the very few moments where life feels worth living,
Worth giving a second chance to yourself no matter how much you might have messed up in the past,
One of the very few moments where life feels too good to be true,
Where life feels like an absolute dream, too good to be true.
Amara felt like she was living in a dream, a dream she never wanted to be awaken from.
