Zane ended up not sleeping throughout the night, how could he sleep when Emma's body kept resurfacing in his head.
He came out and Emma was seen arranging plates on the table. She had already made breakfast, and it was clear in her eyes that she too didn't have a good sleep.
Emma turned to face Zane when she heard his footsteps.
"Good morning, Mr.... "
She couldn't complete the words.
"Zane Winston. But you should call me Mr. Winston."
Zane said as he came closer to Emma. Emma nodded to his words.
"Good morning, Mr. Winston."
Zane didn't respond back to Emma, he simply took his seat on the table, he wasn't used to eating very early, he wondered why Emma even made breakfast so early and without even coming to ask him what he would like.
She hadn't even spent a day, yet she was already taking control of his abode, using his kitchen without his permission.
Zane's expression darkened by the second, he wanted to say something but he decided to take the meal first. Emma sat down on the opposite side and they both started eating, but Zane surprisingly outclassed her and finished his meal, he even took the extra meal which was on a separate plate.
"I see you have big a appetite, or you have never tasted a meal this good before."
Zane eyes became deadly when he heard that.
"What nonsense!"
He simply said as he wiped his mouth. Truly, he had never tasted a meal this good before, it was better than all the five star chefs that had cooked for him, well, maybe he wasn't hungry that day, and besides those chefs had more nutrients in their food than these packages of spicy ingredients!
Whatever, Zane wanted to complain to Emma for waking up early to cook, but something struck him in the head and his expression darkened more.
He couldn't believe Emma was this desperate. She woke up this early so they could hurriedly go get their marriage certificate, he did tell her they would get it today.
Zane stood up then. Emma quickly asked.
"Are you done, I could get you some more in the kitchen."
She said it in a joking manner, she was doing everything possible to win Zane over with her character, only that way would she be able to mean something in his eyes.
If he only likes her because of what he saw yesterday, then things might go wrong when those things start to fade away, or he gets to demand it everytime.
She would suffer!
Zane didn't respond to Emma's words. His expression was deadpan and it silenced the laughter Emma was trying to create.
He stood up and simply walked to his room, in less than a minute, Zane came back with three documents. He smashed them on the table and said.
"Before we get our marriage certificate, I want you to sign this."
Emma was at first afraid when she saw three documents on Zane's hands and the manner he used in dropping them on the table, but seeing the title on the documents. She was lost, shocked and confused.
"A marriage contract!"
Emma couldn't help but say the words out. Zane responded straight away.
"Yes. Sign this if you really want to get married to me!"
Emma didn't know what to say. She had no choice than to open the documents. Her eyes widened seeing the first rule, just then Zane picked one of the documents up and read it aloud.
"You shall not go to the media or any public authorities to announced our marriage, or claim that I am your husband. Don't even tell anyone about me, if you do I would know, and I will force you to pay me the debts you are owing in a very harsh method."
Emma was stunned by this. Why would she go to the media and announce that she was married to a thug. That her husband was the leader of some hooligans.
Why would she want to tell anybody that?
Her eyes moved to the next, which was the last and it stunned her to the bone again. Just then, Zane read it aloud.
"If you were to seek divorce, nothing would be given to you, you would walk away empty handed just like you came."
