Chapter 10 - CHAPTER 10

Emma's heart missed a beat, the flame inside her exploded at that moment. She saw herself pounding on Violet, but she managed to control herself and only ended up screaming.

"I have paid for the shop already!!!!"

Emma managed to calm her breathing and yelled again.

"I have already paid for the ownership of the shop!"

Without waiting for Violet's response Emma enters her store. She pushed the men standing at the entrance away and some of them that were inside. Emma finds the papers and comes out with a big frown on her face.

She handed the paper to Violet.

"I paid your mom last year for the ownership of the shop. I paid in full and she gave me this paper with her signature on it."

"This belongs to me now. It's no longer yours"

Violet accepted the paper and Emma's eyes moved to the broken frame work on the floor.

"You are going to pay for this and for breaking into my store. You are going to pay heavily for this and I am not letting you out of the hook no matter what!"

Emma turned to face Violet. Violet read the papers with a little worried eyes, but her expression changed when she was done reading it.

Violet faced Emma and tore the paper to pieces.

"Emma, I can't believe you are this dumb. My father gave you the money to acquire this store, not my mom. Why would you pay her? What a dummy."

Violet pointed at the store when she was done tearing the paper.

"I am giving you...."

SLAP!

Emma couldn't take the scene anymore and she smashed her right palm on Violet's face.

The slap caused Violet to stagger backwards, and she almost fell to the ground but Raymond quickly caught her in his embrace.

"Raymond!"

Violet cried out as she fell into Raymond's embrace. Raymond angrily looked at Emma.

"How stupid are you Emma. Don't you know that you will be fined for assaulting an innocent person. Since it has to do with me, you will be fined heavily and might as well even serve a jail term."

Raymond helped Violet to her feet and Violet cried out in Raymond's embrace.

" Don't go that far, Raymond. I won't report this to the police provided she goes on her knees and apologize sincerely to me"

Raymond gave Violet a small nod and pointed at Emma.

"You heard her, Emma. Go on your knees and apologize to Violet if you don't want me to pursue this injustice."

Emma couldn't believe the words she was hearing from Raymond. He turned overnight the moment she caught him cheating on her with violet.

What a joke that she actually fell for his pretty lies, thinking that he was her prince charming, because he was wealthy.

Emma spat on the ground.

"I will make sure you two pay for this."

Emma turned heading inside her store, not wanting to exchange words with them. She prefers actions instead.

Emma had only turned to face the entrance when Violet pushed her hard on the back. Not expecting the push, Emma fell hard to the ground. Her knees jammed the hard floor, causing her knees to start bleeding.

Violet looked down on Emma.

"Where do you think you are going, rat?"

She had to pay Emma back, from the slap Mr Conner gave her yesterday and for this as well.

She had no idea Emma would be allowed to come to the store, but it didn't matter, she would get to exact her revenge properly.

Raymond's expression darkened at that moment. He pointed at Emma on the floor.

"I told you to apologize to Violet and you dare to walk away."

He snapped his fingers, and the men behind Emma immediately seized Emma by holding her hands.

Raymond's forehead folded completely and he sounded.

"Let's see how you would walk away in prison."

"Take her to the police station. I will make a call to my dad and make sure she never gets out!"

Emma was pulled up and dragged to the car parked close to her store. Violet and Raymond smile brightly as Emma was being dragged away. When Emma was successfully forced into the car, Violet faced the remaining men working.

"Hurry up. I have a buyer waiting!"

The store was in a well developed area. Her father saw the potential of having a store here and bought it for the wrong person. Well, thankfully Emma had been given away to some lifeless thugs, now she could do as she pleases with the store.

"Hurry up, everyone!"

Violet said as she entered the store back.

**

Zane came out from the mansion with somebody dressed in a navy blue suit.

"Those guns are new orders, Mr. Winston.... I mean they are of good quality. I thought I should let you know about it before thinking of any other buyers."

"Since you are around. I have to follow the rules to see if you are interested."

Zane stops at that moment, causing fear to spring up on the man. The man humbly moved his eyes to the floor as he waited for Zane's response. Zane moved his eyes to the clouds.

"I don't need guns to feel safe. You should know I am not my father. My father might fancy guns but I don't."

Zane turned to face the man and continued.

"And besides, I already have a lot of it. You can sell it to other buyers, Matias."

Matias slowly gave Zane a small nod. Zane continued walking away and Matias followed him from behind.

"The Mayor has been asking around for you since you came. He has heard all of your good deeds from your father, now he desperately wants to see you facially."

They stopped at where Zane parked his car and Matias continued.

"Since you are free today, I suggest you go see him now. Otherwise you might not have the chance anymore."

Zane thought about it and checked the time on his watch.

"That would be later, Matias. I have somewhere that I need to be now."

The time was just twenty minutes to five pm. Even though he was testing Emma. It didn't mean he had to fail his part of being a good husband to her.

If he thinks of neglecting her, his father would come back from the dead to haunt him.

Matias bowed ninety degrees at Zane.

"Long live your honor!"

Matias straightened up and Zane placed his hands on Matias right shoulder.

"I will see you soon."

Zane entered his car and drove to Emma's store. He never really asked Emma where her store was located, it didn't cross his mind because he knew he could always get the information anytime he wanted.

Zane called Sir Conner through his car.

"Conner, can you send me the location of Emma Xavier shop for me."

Sir Conner was silent on his end of the call before he gently asked.

"Do you mean your wife's store, Master Zane?"

Zane's expression darkened at that moment, but he casually responded.

"She is not my wife. Don't make that mistake. Until I officially wed her in church, she is not Miss Winston. Do you understand that?"

Sir Connor responded quickly.

"Yes, master Zane. I will send the address in a few minutes."

The call ended and not too long from there, Zane received the location on his phone. He checked the location and inserted it into the car GPS map.

Zane arrived there and saw the place was in a messed up state, like they were redesigning the whole shop.

A man dressed in a white suit was giving orders to some boys. The boys were taking new branded things inside the shop. Zane was concerned by this. He had no idea Emma was really serious about stepping up in her business.

Does she really not want to date a handsome man like him?

Him getting married to someone could be regarded as an heavenly opportunity for some people, yet Emma was rushing to God knows where.

Zane believed Emma would be inside the store, probably telling the boys where they should put the new things.

Zane wanted to enter the store when the fat man dressed in a black suit barked at him.

"Hey, where do you think you are going!"

The fat man had no idea who Zane was, and Zane was walking into his store. He thought of making Zane apologize to him on his knees, if Zane didn't made a mistake on where he was going.

Zane paused when he heard the barking sound. His expression darkened at once, but he managed to remain calm.

"I want to see Emma Xavier, the owner of this store."

The fat man expression remained serious.

"What Emma Xavier are you talking about? I just acquired this store so I am the owner. You probably missed your way here."

Zane's forehead folded a little when he heard Emma sold her store. Could it be that she was trying to make a run for it?

He couldn't believe she would be this silly.

'So she was thinking of running away all along. What makes her think she can really run away.'

Zane casually brought his phone out. He wanted to make a call when the fat man sounded again.

"Oh, I think I remember the name now. Isn't that the name of the former owner...."

Zane didn't put ears to the fat man's words. He made the call, just as the call went through, the fat man's words started coming into Zane's ears.

"She has been thrown inside prison for assaulting the young master of the Bryson family, and her step sister. What a poor little soul but she should face the consequences of her actions. For daring to insult the Young master alone, she could be given a lifetime imprisonment. Doesn't she know who the Bryson family are!"

Zane's expression darkened at that moment. He immediately understood what had happened.

Emma's step family were back at Emma again, but he couldn't believe they dared to arrest her and sold her shop.

Who do they think they are?

Zane's expression darkened more.

'They have no idea what they have just done'

Zane cut the ongoing call without responding to the person he called. He placed his phone back in his pocket and casually walked to the fat man's direction.

The fat man continued talking without paying attention to Zane who was coming to him.

"A little rat like her can't talk trash in front of them, and she not only talked trash but also hits the young master's girlfriend. Even I wouldn't do such a thing."

The fat man burst out laughing. Just then he noticed Zane was standing close to him.
