For some reason, Cormac always seems particularly ill at ease in the Wolf's Head. Pacing your room with his usual restless vigor, he explains the situation.
His grandmother, the infamous Orla O'Donnell, is going to be holding a meeting soon with a man from Dublin, Michael Duffy, a man whom Cormac thinks is from one of the big Dublin gangs. Her sons are going to be there too, including Cormac's father Terry, as well as two local Guards, Irish police officers, who've been in Orla's pocket for years. And whatever this meeting is about, it's been haunting Terry for weeks. He hasn't joked or smiled since Orla told him about the meeting and he's been smoking pot and drinking heavily.
Cormac shakes his head. "Grandma's got no time for Da. She thinks he's weak, that he hasn't earned his place in our family. I know she and the Dub are going to make him do something that could get him in trouble. I need to know what."
"So where do I come in?"
"What do you think it might be?"
"But why Terry? Why would your grandma choose him?"
