Chereads / The Visionary Hero / Chapter 21 - A New Power

Chapter 21 - A New Power

Avasyu's eyes opened, and he found himself back in his room.He sat there, breathing heavily, his mind racing. The scene he had just witnessed—it felt like a vision.

Could he trust it?He questioned it for a moment, but deep down, he knew the answer. There was no reason to doubt it.

What he had seen was something entirely new. Something that no one else knew. It was information he was meant to see.But now came the real challenge.

The vision had revealed the culprit. The Dream Eater.Yet, it hadn't revealed how to defeat her.All he knew was that the monsters had one weakness—electricity.

But would that be enough?

Avasyu clenched his fists. The electric gun wasn't enough. There weren't enough bullets. There had to be another way.

He exhaled sharply and muttered to himself, "I wish I had the power of thunder or electricity."

Because if he did…He would shock them all to ash.

There were no other options. No escape. No reinforcements. No miracle waiting for him.Avasyu felt like he had reached a dead end.But then, a thought struck him.

If this was truly a dead end… then why was this dream still happening? If his death was inevitable, then why was he still here, trapped in this loop? There had to be a way forward.

Determined, he stepped outside his room and headed to the guard's room. He stopped by the chief's room first, grabbing the electric gun, then continued forward.

Reaching the guard's room, he aimed the gun and shocked him awake. The guard jolted up, gasping from the sudden surge. But when his eyes focused on Avasyu, his expression shifted from confusion to concern.

It wasn't just the electric shock that surprised him—it was Avasyu's expression. There was no hesitation. No fear. Only determination.

Avasyu met his gaze.

"I need your help, Mr. Guard."

The guard frowned. "What kind of help?"

Avasyu took a deep breath. "I need a weapon. A weapon that contains unlimited electricity… and is strong enough to kill any monster, no matter how big."

The guard's eyes widened. For a moment, he was speechless. But then, something shifted in his expression.

What Avasyu was asking for sounded crazy—but it wasn't impossible.

Not for him.

The guard agreed to help but issued a stern warning.

"If you try to harm or kill anyone here, I won't protect you. I will arrest you-or, if necessary, kill you."

Avasyu met his gaze without hesitation "I understand," he said. "I have no intention of harming anyone here."

With that, the guard led him through the facility. They passed the armory--a room filled with weapons, ammunition, and tactical gear-but they didn't stop there.Instead, the guard took him to a hidden section.A high-tech weapons lab designed for creating and dismantling advanced weaponry. It was massive. Rows of machines, prototype firearms, blueprints, and experimental energy weapons filled the space. Some were unfinished, others dangerously unstable.

Avasyu barely glanced at them.He wasn't there to browse. The guard wasted no time. Using the electric gun as a base, he started crafting.

It was a process of trial and error. The first few attempts failed-some weapons, overloaded, others lacked power.

It took him five long hours of non-stop work.

Finally, he created something.A weapon infused with electric energy Strong enough to kill any monster. But there was a problem.

The electricity wasn't unlimited. It could only hold a finite charge. Once depleted, it would need time to recharge- or worse, it could run out mid-battle.

Avasyu held the weapon in his hands, testing its weight.

They were close. But close wasn't good enough.

"This might work," Avasyu said, gripping the weapon. "It should last long enough."

They had been underground for hours, losing track of time. When they finally emerged, the clocks read 5 PM.

Avasyu turned to the guard. "Follow me."

Without hesitation, he led him to the Atrium—the vast, open hall at the heart of the facility.

There, Avasyu gave his next command.

"Protect me until 6 PM. No matter what happens."

The guard frowned. Avasyu's behavior was strange. Unpredictable. What was he planning?

But when he looked into Avasyu's eyes—saw the cold determination in them—he didn't argue.

"…Alright," the guard finally said. "I'll protect you."

Avasyu walked to the center of the Atrium and sat down.Cross-legged. Still. Focused. The guard stood behind him, gripping his weapon, eyes scanning the area. He had no idea what was coming.Minutes passed. The room was silent except for the faint hum of the facility's lights.

Then—The air shifted. The guard's heart pounded. Faster. Harder.Something was wrong.

A noise.

A growl.

Then another.And another.

The guard's grip on his weapon tightened. His breath grew unsteady. He turned his head slightly, eyes darting to Avasyu.

Still meditating. Unmoving.

"Hey… wake up ! Wake up. Now."

The guard gritted his teeth. His pulse raced. He could hear them now. The monsters. They were coming.

Too many.Too strong. He cursed under his breath.

"I can't handle them all!"

The creatures were terrifying. Their dark red eyes glowed in the dim light, their twisted forms moving unnaturally fast. There was no end to them. The guard turned, panic creeping into his voice.

"Avasyu! We need to run!"

But then—Avasyu's eyes snapped open. The guard felt his throat go dry.For a moment, he forgot to breathe.

Those weren't the same eyes he had seen before. They were sharper. Colder.Avasyu stood up slowly. Calm. Controlled. Then, his voice rang out—steady and unwavering.

"Run?"

His gaze locked onto the creatures approaching them.

"Run where?"

"We have nowhere to run."

The guard's breath quickened as he scanned the area.

Monsters. Everywhere.

They were closing in from all directions, their dark red eyes piercing through the dim light. His grip tightened on his weapon. This was bad.He turned to Avasyu.

"Why is there no one else here? Where is everyone?"

Then, a chilling thought struck him.

"…Did those monsters kill them all?"

Avasyu didn't answer right away. He simply turned his head slightly, glancing back at the guard. Then, in a calm, deadly serious voice, he said—

"Yes, they did."

The guard felt a cold shiver run down his spine. Before he could respond, Avasyu continued—his tone unshaken, absolute.

"And I'm not going to let them get out of here."

He took a step forward, facing the approaching monsters without a hint of fear.

"This Atrium will be their graveyard."

The guard swallowed hard. Then—he noticed it.

Avasyu's eyes.They were glowing.

A bright gray—like the moon.

But it wasn't just the glow that unsettled him.

There was something else.

Something calm. Cold. Unwavering.

Something powerful.

The air around them shifted .

Something was happening to Avasyu.
