It was a day like any other. The sky was blue with not a cloud in the sky, and the sun shone. In the hospital, another baby could be heard crying to Kizashi and Mebuki Haruno. The couple's eldest daughter, Katherine was also present during the birth to her younger sister, Sakura.
Katherine looked at the baby in her mother's arms. "Mother, why is her hair pink?"
Mebuki chuckled and brushed a piece of Sakura's hair. "It's to represent her name." She took her daughter's hand able to sense the tension in Katherine's mood at the thought of all the attention would be placed on her little sister.
Kizashi placed a hand on his eldest daughter's shoulder also able to sense the tension in the room. "You will help us raise Sakura right?"
Katherine rolled her eyes. "If that is what you wish, father."
There was a knock on the door and a moment of silence in the room before the doctor opened it. Mebuki looked up to see Mikoto Uchiha. She smiled before motioning her best friend to come over. "Mikoto, this is a pleasant surprise." She caught a glimpse of the heir of the Uchiha Family. Itachi.
Mikoto chuckled. "This is my son, Itachi. We also have a new edition to our family. She sat next to her best friend. I'd like to introduce you to Sasuke." She smiled. "But this day is about you, my friend."
Mebuki chuckled. "I appreciate it, Miko. I would like to introduce you to my daughter, Sakura."
Katherine stood up and excused herself to the bathroom. Her parents gave her a simple nod. She let out a breath of both excitement and worry. She had a bad feeling about the days to come. Upon returning to the birthing room when Itachi pulled her aside.
"Katherine, are you ok? You seem out of sorts. I figured you would be excited to have a baby sibling."
She sighed. "I am, Itachi but I have a feeling that something evil is coming."
Itachi looked at her. There was something about her that seemed different. He had always found her beautiful yet sad. They had been friends for a while yet something different was moving inside Itachi. "Katherine, can I ask you something?"
"Of course."
He took her hand. "Do you think that we'll be together in the future?"
Katherine blinked unable to answer the question. She didn't know how to answer it. What does he mean by that? Does he mean that this was his way of asking her if she loved him?
