As time went by Katherine attempted to distance herself from her little sister. She had been seen with Itachi more and more. Rumors began that Katherine was the most powerful kunoichi at the academy because she was becoming a beautiful young girl. During a small break between sessions, a rock came flying towards her head. Before Katherine could react, she found herself on the ground on the verge of passing out.
The sensei of the academy, came running over but everything seemed like a blur. Katherine could see the outline of her sensei and Itachi who had also come over to see if she was ok before routing on the other student who had thrown the rock at her.
A few hours later, Katherine woke up in the infirmary. "What happened?" She smiled seeing that Itachi hadn't left her side. She looked around to see if her parents had come to see if she was ok but they hadn't. She sighed knowing that they would rather stay home with their newborn instead of making sure that she was ok.
Meanwhile, Mebuki looked up from doing laundry to notice a message from a hawk. She took the message from the bird and opened it. Mebuki, I am writing to you to inform you that your daughter, Katherine has been sent to the infirmary. She has gotten into a small fight while at the academy. She took a small rock to the head but she should be fine otherwise. With most regards, Minato the Fourth Hokage.
Mebuki sighed. She knew that her eldest daughter was stubborn but sometimes could get in her way. She should have known better than to get in the way of a rock. But it's good to know that she's gonna be fine. She thought.
Years passed and Katherine's relationship with Sakura had gotten stronger. Despite her misgives about being a big sister, Katherine had grown to love her baby sister. At the age of 16, Katherine was getting ready for her first mission with Itachi when Sakura approached her.
Sakura was now 5 years old. With pink hair, and green eyes similar to that of their mom. She had always looked up to her big sister and would soon be entering the Ninja Academy. "Kat?" Sakura had started calling Katherine that.
Katherine stopped her hand on the door handle. "Yes?" She turned around.
Sakura sighed. "C..can you play with me?"
"I'm about to start a very important mission soon, Sakura. I won't have much time to play with you. If I have any free time I'll try to make time. I can't make any promises."
Sakura looked down at her feet trying to hide her tears. "Ok. Mom and Dad have been so busy so I figured.." She trailed off.
A smile came over Katherine's face. She placed a tender hand on her little sister's shoulder. "Hey, it's gonna be ok. Don't worry about it." With that, she opened the door and disappeared with Sakura running after she waved her hand.
