Chapter 4 - 4: Four Years Later...

"My name is Vastarael Richinaria, first born son of the Dynasty Monarch, Dilasyus Richinaria and Lysameria Richinaria.

And this is the first diary I have ever written. Back in my previous life, I used to have a diary where I would write an account of what happened in my life.

And right now, I'm using a four year old hand to type this. Yes, type.

Apparently, the world I'm in isn't the fantasy world that I imagined. I kind of expected it to be a medieval fantasy world with dragons, castles, elves and whatnot.

But... to my disappointment, it's kind of similar to how Earth was but... better.

I was born as a baby. To he honest, I've never felt more vulnerable in my life at that moment for the first year. Somehow, I can understand their language.

But it took me four years to be able to read and write.

And also—"

°°°°°

"Prince Vastarael, are you listening to me?"

A four year old boy turned his head and looked at the adult in front of him. He had a white butler suit, holding a holographic tablet on his hand.

The boy looked around and realized that he was inside a massive library. Hundreds of shelves stretched far as the eye could see, their height towering over eight to ten meters. He saw a few maids dressed in black maid outfits standing on floating stone tiles, dusting the shelves and arranging books.

Some of the maids noticed the butler and turned their heads. Their eyes widened when they saw the prince.

His snow white curly hair glimmered in the bright golden rays of sunlight coming out of the library windows, his golden eyes glancing at the shocked maids who momentarily stopped their duties and state at him.

His bronze complexion stood out the most. He had a floating hologram in front of him and he seemed that he was writing something.

Dressed in long white pajamas, he tilted his head to face the maids.

"Is something wrong?"

Even though he asked in a gentle voice, the maids immediately woke up from their stupor and continued with their duties. He shrugged as he faced the white suited man who...

Had a monocle?

"My prince... what brings you here in the Royal Library this early morning?" The man asked politely, completely shocked to see him so early in the morning.

He made his hologram vanish and pointed at the books.

"I'd like you to take me to the geography section."

"But my prince, isn't it—'

"If you're afraid that my mother will complain to you, not to worry. She's busy with... baby issues. Now then, will you take me to the geography section please?"

"R-right away my prince!"

Vastarael grinned when he saw the frightened look of the man. To be honest, talking to an authoritative voice was kind of... fun.

Vastarael was led to a section in the library that contained all sorts of geographic details. After a few minutes, the librarian brought out a few geographical maps and books for him to read. The librarian was fazed by how the boy began focusing on them as if he was studying.

"If you need anything else, my prince..."

He waved his hand and gestured him to leave without saying anything. The librarian gave a slight bow and left him alone, secretly looking behind him as he walked away.

Vastarael's curiousity was piqued the second he came to this world.

Since his abilities would appear when he was six years old, he had nothing to do. The only thing he did was wake up, go to the library, take breakfast, library, lunch, library. dinner, read a book before bedtime, sleep.

And the process would go on.

Ever since he was three, he began researching more about the world and the information made him feel like he was in a fantasy setting.

He looked at a geographic map of the continent he was in, Anqerise.

The world Spheraphase is separated into four continents; Xypelia in the North, Navaraza in the South, Nesmarone in the West and Anqerise in the East.

Each continent is ruled by a Dynasty. A Dynasty is a group of powerful beings who unite under one name and spread their influence to a world, similar to a pantheon of gods.

And Dynasty Richinaria, the one he was born in, ruled over the entire continent of Anqerise.

He has never left the palace since he was born and he didn't mind. He had not even explore the entire palace yet and yet he had all the time in the world to explore.

That is, if he escapes his mother.

His mother was watching him like a hawk. He was sure that even some of the maids in the library were assassins keeping an eye on him and reporting their findings to her.

Not that he cared. He did love his mother after all.

He continued looking at the continent and read some notes from one of the books.

"Anqerise is known in Spheraphase for having the most favorable climate among the four continents. It is also the richest continent, known to have a lot of luxuries and technology compared to the other continents," he read aloud as he flipped the page.

"No one knows how the Dynasties came to be. However, Spheraphase is separated into two types; the Mortal Race and the Immortal Race."

He knew this already.

Since he is the child of two Nexuses, he was part of the Immortal Race, which consisted of immortal beings, the Nexuses on top of the chain.

And as for the mortals, they lived alongside the immortals. In Anqerise, they promoted equality under a meritocracy system, which is a type of society where wealth, income and social status are assigned through competition.

Mortal, immortal, it doesn't matter. As long as you contribute to society, you will gain a social status. It wouldn't be surprising to see a human becoming a noble and an elf becoming a street vendor.

Also, majority of Anqerise's population consisted of humans and elves. There were a few other races but they made a very small percentage.

Vastarael thanked Thyrexxa for taking him in a peaceful society. Living in a dystopian society for decades does a good number on you.

Even some of the maids were mortal beings.

The main reason he came to the library was to look for the Minafallen Academy. And after a hour of searching maps, he finally found it.

"There it is. Since I'm not six yet, I'm limited to knowledge and I have to rely on books. No matter..."

The hologram he was using was a knockoff version of the World System, which connected across the entire world. One could check their status, physical capabilities and abilities and even communicate.

It was a combination of a smartphone and a computer and an appraisal hologram. Back on Earth, the financially stable afforded holograms while the poor had smartphones.

Again, the Dystopian society was a mess...

He was limited to knowledge because he was not linked to the World System yet. So, he was using a hologram that enabled him to simply communicate, set alarms and a map of the palace.

Oh, and a diary too.

He pointed at Minafallen Academy, which was located on the same continent he was in, Anqerise. It was quite far from the Borough he was living in.

One thing that completely shocked him was that the metric measurement was exactly the same like on Earth.

Meters, kilometers, liters, grams...

It was the same on Spheraphase. One hundred centimeters made a meter. A thousand grams made a liter.

It was the same. With this, he was absolutely sure that whoever made this measurement system was from his home world.

But who? Without knowledge, he felt so empty.

That's why he was researching everything because after he was six, his life would really change.

"Prince Vastarael?"

He turned his head and saw a maid, who slightly bowed her head and faced him.

"Your mother is calling out for you, my prince."

He looked at the windows and sighed. It was already late morning.

"Oh. Okay. Can you please send this book to my room?" He gently asked as he gave her a book. "I'll return it tomorrow morning."

Normally, books from the Royal Library never leave their shelves. But ever since the prince began showing up everyday for a year, this became a normal thing to them.

And he really did return the book personally in the morning. Of course he didn't know this rule existed and didn't know that his parents approved of it.

The maid gently took the book and bowed her had again before he left. He noticed that everyone was looking at him as he walked away. He narrowed his eyes as he left the library.

'Curse this Boon of mine.'

°°°°°

"My dear, I told you not to move. We have a party planned tonight to celebrate her birth but you're not leaving."

"But—"

"That is not up for negotiation, my dear. You are staying in bed."

"Ugh... why are you always do overprotective? You were worse back when Vastarael was born. I'm a Nexus. I'm not going to die that easily."

"Tell that to my mother."

Vastarael is a romance fan and seeing his parents talking over every little thing excited him. It felt like he was watching a soap opera.

Right now, he was watching them in their own massive bedroom as they complained to each other, romantically of course.

"Hello, mom, dad."

The two parents turned to face their son, who was smiling brightly. They stopped arguing and smiled back.

"Vastarael? When did you get here?"

"Right when you were about to kiss."

"Wha—"

The two parents gasped at his words.

To them, Vastarael was smart for his age. Even though Immortal children mature faster than mortals, Vastarael's development was...

Faster than anyone else.

When his mother was pregnant with his sister, his father gave him a 'vague description' of how it happened since he asked. But for some strange reason, he managed to figure it out and tell his father the exact details he was hiding.

It was... a very awkward moment for the Dynasty Monarch.

Vastarael inherited most of his looks from his father; his white hair, his golden eyes and bronze skin.

The only genes he had of his mother was his curly hair.

"Son... you're not supposed to say those things," Dilasyus Richinaria said to him as his father picked him up.

"So what were you going to do?" He asked innocently.

Of course he was doing this on purpose. He found it fun to tease his parents. Even though they were the rulers of an entire continent and one of the most powerful beings of Spheraphase, they were like teenagers when it came to each other.

"Uh... let's drop the subject, alright?"

He giggled as he faced his mother, who was holding an infant.

His mother, Lysameria, have birth to a girl a few days ago. This was a complete shock in the entire palace.

Immortals take decades or centuries to have children. Even though it took her about three hundred years of gestation for him to be born, no one expected another to be born four years after he came to the world.

It was... a miracle.

Vastarael wondered why Thyrexxa didn't tell her anything about his sibling, Anamorsia Richinaria. He shrugged it off. After all, she said, it wouldn't be living if he knew everything about his new life.

He had a lot of spoilers anyway.

Dilasyus placed his son next to his wife, who brought the wide eyed infant next to him.

"Hello sis," Vastarael said softly as he bought his finger close to her face. "It's your brother, Vastarael."

To his surprise, the infant grabbed his hand and cooed in happiness, as if she was glad to see him. He was glad that he was handsome enough for the baby to acknowledge him.

He was a big brother, something he always was to the young ones in the orphanage. But for the first time, he had a real blood younger sister.

And for the first time in his first and second life, he felt pure affection for the little infant in front of him.
