The Richinaria Palace was a floating island. Vastarael realized this when he was preparing for the ball.
The Dynasty Monarch organized a celebration ball for the birth of his second child, a girl. This news spread all over the continent and the nobles were invited.
The second reason why they wanted to go is because they wanted to see the heir of Dynasty Richinaria.
For four years, he never left the palace and no one except the palace servants saw him. Now, his identity was going to be revealed across the entire continent.
The event would be recorded live for the entire continent to see. So to them, this ball was focusing more on him than the newborn child.
"Dad, do I have to do this?" Vastarael asked nervously as he stood beside his tall father, who was wearing a royal outfit that didn't look futuristic to him. He also wore a royal outfit that would be considered priceless in a fantasy world.
They were standing in front of the main doors of the ball, waiting to be announced.
His father looked at his son and noticed his nervousness. He gently patted his head and smiled at him.
"You'll be fine," he told him. "All you have to do is hold your head up high as you sit on your throne."
"Oh. Alright. I'll do my best."
Vastarael was indeed nervous.
His parents never taught him anything about royalty so he wasn't sure how he would behave. He eventually decided to follow his father's actions.
"And now, welcoming the Dynasty Monarch of Richinaria, the savior of Anqerise and his son, His Royal Majesty Dilasyus Richinaria and Prince Vastarael Richinaria!"
The giant does opened, revealing a massive hall were hundreds of guests immediately bowed their heads. To Vastarael, it felt like one of those fancy gala dinners he saw on holographic screens in the city squares back on Earth.
But bigger.
The Dynasty Monarch walked towards the throne, his son slowly following beside him. He maintained a calm face as he saw everyone, young and old, bowing down to them.
'So this is power,' he thought to himself, watching the glances they gave him as he passed by. 'Everyone bowing down to us because we're royalty. This... isn't bad.'
They gently ascended the stairs. Thanks to his body constitution, it wasn't hard for him to climb them. He never actually wondered why he never got tired even after walking around all day and reading.
It was like his body was different.
However... the throne was too tall for him to climb on. He mentally sighed when he thought of himself struggling to get to the throne while the entire continent was watching.
It would definitely be one of his most embarrassing moments of his life.
To his surprise, he felt a pair of arms lifting him up before placing him on his throne. He saw a gentle smile from his father, who then turned to face the guests who were now looking at him.
"Immortals and mortals of Anqerise, tonight, we celebrate the birth of a new royal of Dynasty Richinaria," Dilasyus began his speech. "This is indeed a miracle. The Dynasty Monarchess has indeed blessed our Dynasty with yet another child."
Silence.
"Now, I am sure that most of you wanted to see the heir of Dynasty Richinaria," he faced his son and introduced him. "This is Vastarael Richinaria, the next heir of Dynasty Richinaria and the one who will succeed my position in the future."
Vastarael gave a slight nervous smile and a wave as the guests clapped their hands. He could see the dazed looks some of them had when they saw him smile.
"And now, you may enjoy yourselves for the rest of the night."
'Huh. Not a man of a lot of words,' Vastarael noticed as his father sat on his throne as he faced his son. 'To be honest, he doesn't look like a king at all.'
He knew that he was powerful but only in theory. Since the abilities of beings in Spheraphase, mortal or immortal, opened up at the age of six, he couldn't sense the power of anyone in the ball, even on his father.
So until then, he would never know just how powerful his father really is.
After the introductions, everything else was boring.
A few noble families came out to greet the Monarch and they discussed political and financial matters that he had no interest in. His focus was on the children in the ball.
Every once in a while, he saw teenagers and young adults dancing on the ball floor, soft ball music radiating all over the hall. He saw how the man gently twirled his partner without effort, moving side to side, smiles on their faces...
It was like he was watching art in its purest form.
From time to time, a few of them glanced in his direction but he wasn't interested. For the first time, he wanted to do something before he gained his abilities.
He wanted to know how to dance.
"Ah, Grand Duke. I'm glad you came."
Vastarael turned his head, spotting a family of... six standing right before the staircase, bowing their heads in respect.
They all had red hair. The Grand Duke, a man who was almost as tall as his father, the Grand Duchess who was beside him, two teenager who looked to be twins, another younger boy and...
A girl who looked the same age as he was.
Unlike the family members who had crimson hair and blue eyes, she was the only one with... bright orange eyes.
The little girl faced him with a rather cold expression before she gave a slight bow. Vastarael smiled in response, causing the girl's expression to falter a little bit.
He then faced the parents, who were now discussing about something in a language not even he could understand.
Vastarael narrowed his eyes when he saw the other teenagers looking at him with curious looks. After decades of experimentation, he could read the faces of the ones who did torturous research on him.
And the teenagers were looking at him with...
Greed. Like they found someone to manipulate and use.
Actually, the entire family except the mother had cold expressions on their faces. He didn't like it one bit.
"Oh, this is my son. Vastarael, this is Grand Duke Landle Viaca and the Grand Duchess Miane Viaca," he introduced them. "And these are their children."
He nodded at them. "Nice to meet you."
They slightly bowed their heads in return.
"For future reference, when you become a Dynasty Monarch, you will have to choose a Duke from the Viaca Family. The Viacas are always destined to be our Dukes," Dilasyus added. "It is tradition."
"So if they decide to come to me now and secure their positions for the future, then it wouldn't be bad, right?"
Half of the entire party went silent when they heard the boy speak for the first time. They all turned to face the boy, who had a grin on his face.
In short, he was implying that he was welcoming future cooperations with the family in the future.
"What do you mean?" Dilasyus asked with a sly grin, even though he already had an inkling of what he was going to do.
"Father," he said, slightly shocking the Monarch, "if I'm the heir of Dynasty Richinaria, then there is no need to rush. We are Immortals, are we not?"
"..."
"Soon, I'll have to build influences and partnerships as heir but before you give the throne to me, it will be centuries after, right?"
Dilasyus was speechless.
"For now, I'm content with living my life. I have no interest in the throne right now, not am I willing to take it from you anytime soon. When the time comes, then I will directly ask you to step down. If you refuse... then a civil war will occur."
Now, even the music stopped.
Hearing a four year old talking about throne inheritance issues right in front of everyone was not on everyone's list, especially when he formally declared in front of everyone that he would overthrow his father if he refused to give up the throne.
Even the Viaca Family couldn't hide their shock.
"Pfft.. HAHAHAHA!"
The Dynasty Monarch's laughs were heard across the entire ball. It was like he just received a joke he didn't expect to hear. He then lifted his son up and made him sit on his lap.
"Everyone, this is how a true ruler must be! Cold, fearless and daring! He is the definition of a true ruler, not afraid of his own father and even daring to take the throne from me despite being a child! Amazing! You really are a natural, my son!"
Vastarael grinned without saying a word.
'From now on, the seed has been planted.'
"So, my son, how about you start starting building your influence right here and now?"
He blinked.
"Huh?"
Dilasyus faced the Grand Duke, who nodded in response and then looked at his son.
"Son, choose. Who among the Viaca siblings do you wish to become your Duke or Duchess?"
"How am I supposed to—"
"A ruler must have instinct. That is how the Viacas are chosen to be Dukes and Duchesses. We randomly pick the Viaca we desire to be our Duke. I did the same with Duke Landle and now, he is a good friend to me. What about you? Who do you choose?"
Vastarael didn't know that this was supposed to happen when he was sixteen. He would choose a Viaca who will stay by his side until he becomes a ruler.
But it was happening when he was only four years old. For the first time, history was being broken in front of everyone's eyes.
Vastarael didn't expect it to get this far. However...
He needed to survive.
He needed allies in this world. And to do so, he declared that he would succeed the throne in the future.
'Time said that I'll have to choose three destinies when I was sixteen. She didn't say that I can rush it from happening, did she?'
Vastarael was weaving his own destiny.
His plan was simple; go to the Minafallen Academy and inherit the throne. He basically chose two destinies at once.
He was sure that he wouldn't inherit the throne anytime soon, maybe after three hundred years or so. Unless something wrong happened.
And that's a very long time. So he didn't mind one bit. Maybe he would have died by then so...
He then looked at the Viacas and took a deep breath. He had already made his decision.
He pointed at the youngest.
"She will be my Duchess."
Everyone gasped.
Dilasyus asked:
"Why her? The others are more powerful and influential in the noble circle."
Vastarael grinned when he got up from his father's lap and slowly walked down the stairs. He gently approached the little girl and then faced his father, who was now walking towards him.
"Ruler's instinct," he replied.
"..."
Seeing that no one was convinced of his answer, he continued.
"I don't plan to use the Viacas who already have influence in the noble circle. I need a Viaca who is in the same position as I am. Someone who has no influence yet. Someone like her."
Vastarael chose her for another reason.
His Destiny.
He would always be accompanied by a woman in his journeys. And what better way than choosing a girl who was the same age as he was?
Even though he knew that she would be with him even after he became a Dynasty Monarch, he didn't care. Right now, he needed an early foundation.
He was a hundred percent sure that the other reincarnators waited until sixteen to choose their destiny and since he was supposed to die in a woman's arms, he was definitely sure that none of them ever chose the Viaca girl or her ten year old sister.
He did it at the age of four.
And also...The Minafallen Academy is the best way to gain influence to create his own force. His parents would have no choice but to let him go.
Since he didn't choose the rest who had a good political standing, he would have to create one with his duchess. And what better way than the academy?
"I, Dilasyus Richinaria, Dynasty Monarch of Richinaria, hereby declare Adelasta Viaca the next Duchess of Anqerise!"
And with that, Vastarael gained a Duchess.
