Chapter 8 - The Host’s Efforts

"Stop being so coy and tell me what happened!"

Seeing Bu Lige's demeanor, Bu Shiyi couldn't help but smile lightly, her tone playful.

Since her younger brother had healed from his dark injuries, Bu Shiyi was in a good mood.

Bu Lige then proceeded to tell her about buying Coke at Luo Chuan's store.

"You're telling me that the reason you healed from your injuries and broke through to the realm of Good Fortune was because of a bottle of Coke?" Bu Shiyi raised an eyebrow, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips.

Bu Lige didn't pick up on the change in the atmosphere and eagerly nodded, excitement lighting up his eyes. "It only costs ten Spirit Crystals! A single bottle of Coke! I think the boss is selling at a loss!"

"Oh? Then why didn't you buy more?"

"If it weren't for the shop's rule that each person can only buy one bottle per day, I would've bought out the whole store by now!" Bu Lige said casually.

"I see…" Bu Shiyi continued, her slender fingers grasping Bu Lige's ear and twisting it slightly. She smirked, "You dare tease your sister, but now a bottle of Coke that costs only ten Spirit Crystals has such an amazing effect? Is it more powerful than the elixirs in the mansion?"

Feeling the painful tug on his ear, Bu Lige could only cry inwardly.

Why is it when I tell the truth, no one believes me?

"Sister, why would I lie to you? What I said is the truth!"

Seeing that Bu Shiyi was tightening her grip, Bu Lige's face was filled with desperation.

"Did you lie to me?"

"It's true! I swear on the heavens!" Bu Lige almost swore on his life.

"In that case, I'll believe you for now," Bu Shiyi finally released her grip on his ear.

Bu Lige rubbed his sore ear, feeling both defeated and frustrated.

"Take me to this store tomorrow. I'm very interested in meeting that mysterious boss," Bu Shiyi said with narrowed eyes.

The next morning, Luo Chuan opened the shop door early, lying on a rocking chair and enjoying the warmth of the sun. At the same time, he continued chatting with the system in his mind.

"I have to say, this mission you gave me seems a bit unrealistic. Selling a hundred bottles of Coke and a hundred packs of spicy bars within a month? Do you think I can manage that with the current foot traffic in the store?"

"Host, please try harder."

"Couldn't you at least give me some time for it? Or maybe help advertise the store?"

"Host, please try harder."

"Is that all you're going to say?"

The system fell silent.

Luo Chuan sighed in response.

"Boss, I'm here again!"

A familiar voice interrupted his thoughts, and through half-lidded eyes, Luo Chuan saw Bu Lige's face appear in his line of sight.

Next to him stood a woman with bright eyes and radiant skin, her long black hair cascading like a waterfall. She appeared almost ethereal, like a fairy descended to the mortal realm.

Bu Shiyi frowned, her gaze scanning the store behind Luo Chuan.

The shop was tucked away in a remote alley, and the bold sign reading "Origin Mall" did little to inspire confidence. The entire setup, from the location to the owner, screamed unreliability…

Bu Shiyi glanced at Luo Chuan, already starting to doubt the truth of Bu Lige's story.

"Are you the owner of this store?" she asked, her voice crisp and clear, like the chime of a silver bell.

Luo Chuan nodded calmly. "Yes."
