Chapter 47 - Chapter 47

Aurora James - POV

I felt my palms become clammy with sweat, but I held onto the rod tight and charged at the rogue. Since he was a little distracted, I managed to hit him square in the head and he staggered a bit before falling to the floor. He was still wearing the balaclava hiding his identity, and the green shirt that he wore was damp with blood.

He was holding his head as the blood trickled down his forehead when his eyes locked with mine. For a moment I saw the anger vanish when a sarcastic smile appeared there. "I didn't take you for an idiot." he mocked as he abruptly got up from the floor and with lightning speed, took a hold of the rod and twisted my hand at an odd angle when I heard a bone break.

I let out an ear-piercing scream when the rod fell from my hand onto the ground, he grabbed a fist full of my hair and banged my head into the concrete wall multiple times till I began seeing stars.

"I will deal with you later," he growled when I saw the door was slightly open. The woman had a ghostly look on her face, and she did not notice the rogue as he kicked the door, forcing it open while the woman fell to the floor. "Where is it?" I heard him growl when I got up on my wobbly feet and walked towards the door.

"I will never give that to you." the woman sneered when I saw that she was not alone. She was clutching onto her baby, who was now whimpering in fright.

"I know how to take it," he said, and my eyes widened in fear when I saw the light reflect on something shiny that the rogue held. For a few seconds, I didn't realize what it was when I saw the knife.

The pain that I felt in my head became numb as the adrenaline pumped within my veins, I charged at him, grabbed the nearest metal lamp, and stabbed him using that. The rogue immediately turned around, and before I could comprehend what was happening, he stabbed me using the knife. "I thought I would kill you at last, but you are just as stubborn as I remember." he spat as I fell to the floor.

My hand touched my stomach, and as I brought it to my line of sight, my hands began to tremble as I saw the sticky blood on my fingers. "Why the hell do you take such a risk to kill random pack members." I wheezed out when I saw his eyes twinkle with madness.

"I have my reasons, Aurora. And you will find that out soon as well," he said as a cold shiver ran down my spine as he said my name. He turned around to the woman when I saw that the baby wasn't in her arms right now.

He stabbed her in the stomach when I saw her face contort in pain. "Tell me where is it?" he warned her, but she shook her head. He was about to stab her again when we heard the shouts. Amongst the pain I felt, I felt my lips lift in a smile.

"You are going to get caught," I said when the rogue turned towards me.

"This is not over," he warned the woman, pushed her onto the floor, and ran towards the window. With one final look at both of us, he jumped from the window while I lay as still as I could. Even though the woman was bleeding, she still moved towards a box that was inside the cot and lifted it as I saw her baby, who began to cry.

She walked towards me and fell to the floor next to me as she held my hand. "I am so sorry for what happened to you," she mumbled, but I shook my head. My vision was getting blurry, and I was moving in and out of consciousness.

"I am happy he didn't do anything to you," I mumbled when I heard heavy footsteps rush towards us. In an instant, I saw a tall, mascular man walk into the room. There was panic written all over his face as his glance locked with the woman.

"Amanda!" he yelled when he rushed into the room and scooped her in his arms. The baby stopped crying when he saw the man, and he quickly took the baby in his arms while he examined her wounds. "You are all right?" he kept changing those words as if in denial as he stared into his mate's eyes.

"Relax, I am okay." I heard her console her mate. The adrenaline I felt a few minutes ago began to gradually fade away, and that's when I felt the pain. I saw a few warriors standing near the doorway, and when they were about to come inside to help me, we heard a warning growl from outside.

The warriors quickly moved aside, and I saw Zander standing near the doors. For a moment, he was frozen in his place while his eyes displayed various emotions I had never seen before. But prominent among them all was fear and agony, which made something stir within me.

He quickly walked inside the room and took me in his lap. "Are you fucking crazy?" he yelled at me while I saw the others stare at us in shock. My heart filled with bliss when I saw how much he was worried about me.

"It hurts, Zander," I whispered, as my eyes began to get droopy. Zander quickly picked me up bridal style and walked towards the door.

"Send the team of trackers out and locate that rogue's whereabouts. If you find him, don't kill him, take him to the dungeon, and I will be there." Zander ordered as he walked out of the house.

He practically ran to the hospital, and as he walked inside, I saw a few nurses approach us, but he didn't stop as he continued walking inside till we reached a room. By now, I couldn't withstand the pain as I groaned.
