"Rukia, is what this is saying the truth?" Byakuya asked. However, Rukia didn't even dare look her brother in the eyes and just looked away.
Now, looking at his little sister, he didn't know how to feel. He was a man who valued the law above all else, and thus, for her crime, she shall be judged.
"Do you know the grave consequences of your actions?" The man's voice sounded tender, yet the coldness in his voice could be felt by everyone around.
"Such a crime deserves death," the man said, gripping his blade.
"The heck were you thinking, Rukia?" Renji said, sounding more worried for her... odd, considering he was trying to kill her a second ago, but oh well.
Rukia did not even look up. There was nothing she could say, really.
The Reishi inside the shield started to heal her wounds, her soul slowly leaving her Gigai body as her Shinigami power was returned to her.
Ichigo, who was on the way there, felt his borrowed Shinigami power vanish. It was slowly, yet steadily, being taken away from him and being returned back to its original owner.
Renji, fearing what Byakuya may do, attacked the shield once again, yet Uryu shot an arrow at him, causing the man to block the arrow.
"Scram before you get hurt, this does not involve you," he said impulsively. Uryu pushed his glasses aside.
"What kind of cousin would I be if I watched her get hurt?"
Realizing he couldn't get through with this guy, deciding to change his target, he rushed at Uryu.
"Uryu, run!" Rukia begged. However, Uryu was prepared. Keeping his distance from Renji, he fired a couple of arrows from afar, but Renji blocked them.
Uryu jumped away before saying, "Feel the wrath of battle and accept this sacred chalice!"
"Heizen!"
Renji was barely able to dodge the flying silver cube sent toward him. The cube utterly destroyed everything that was in its way. Uryu once again gathered enough Reishi and began making it rain Reishi arrows.
Renji was forced to block all of them.
As Renji used Shunpo in order to get close to Uryu, the man used Hirenkyaku alongside Blue Arteries to boost himself. This caused Uryu to now be faster than the Shinigami, who currently had about 80% of his power sealed.
Uryu began running in a circle around Renji.
"Stop running and fight me like a man, you coward!" Renji shouted.
"We Quincy fight using a bow, so do you want me to fight with a disadvantage? Never thought you Shinigami would stoop so low."
"Shut up!" Renji's voice roared out.
He was not about to pop Bankai on this fodder, yet the speed difference was insane. He would need an insane clutch for this one.
However, this was getting burdensome.
"You lost," Uryu's voice suddenly said. He then took out a Seele Schneider and looked at Renji.
Upon noticing the weapon, Renji looked at Uryu and said, "Are you planning on fighting me using that blade?"
"Have you forgotten what I told you about Quincy?" Uryu said in a rather condescending voice.
"This can also be used as a projectile," Uryu added before shooting off the Seele Schneider at Renji, who just prepared to block it.
As the arrow was about to hit Renji's blade, it stopped in mid-air. It then surrounded Renji with a high-density barrier of Reishi.
Minuscule cuts created by the Seele Schneider caused Reishi to flow out of Renji's body. Uryu then threw a Ginto at the Seele Schneider, causing the barrier to implode before creating an enormous explosion.
As the explosion settled, Renji could be seen badly burned but alive. He had almost been drained by this man.
Feeling death so close by, he wiped his lips, getting ready to beat Uryu.
"That's enough," Byakuya's voice said.
Byakuya then walked toward Uryu, slowly drawing out his blade as he walked toward him.
"Tell me, what is the name of that cousin of yours? If you tell me where he lives, your death will be painless."
"As if I would relay such info to the enemy," Uryu said, pushing back his glasses.
"I see..."
"Scatter, Senbonzakura."
The man's sword transformed into a thousand tiny, slender fragments that flew away from the hilt, leaving only the handle in Byakuya's hand. Although the individual blades were too small to be seen with the naked eye, they reflected light in a way that made them resemble cherry blossom petals.
Thousands of cherry blossoms rushed toward Uryu. The boy used Blut Vein to tank some of it while using Hirenkyaku to avoid the full brunt of it.
"Uryu, run!" Rukia's desperate voice was heard saying.
Uryu, however, was not going to run. Pulling out his bow, he began shooting arrows at Byakuya.
"This is meaningless," the man said as his flower petals blocked every single arrow.
Uryu used Hirenkyaku alongside Blut Arteries in order to help him speed up even more than he was before, putting all of his focus into dodging the blows. However, before he could dodge for longer, Byakuya appeared behind him.
The very next second, he felt it—thousands upon thousands of cherry blossoms cut through his body like a hot knife through butter.
His blood fell everywhere on the pavement, and he fell to his knees. Uryu's body was filled with thousands of cuts.
Byakuya seemed slightly impressed that Uryu had survived. After all, he had made sure that all the cuts targeted vital areas. Although it seemed like Uryu had activated Blut Vene just in time, it took him a second longer than Byakuya thought, but that saved him.
Looking down at the Quincy, Byakuya looked at Uryu before saying, "Where is the Quincy she is dating? He must be made an example of for daring to disrespect the honor of the Kuchiki clan."
Uryu just spat his blood on the man's face.
Byakuya realized that Uryu wouldn't speak.
"Well then, if that's your final wish..." Thousands of Sakura tree leaves could be seen.
"Brother, please, I beg you... stop!" Rukia begged. However, Byakuya remained indifferent.
