Chereads / Trigger Cell 'Lawlessness ' / Chapter 5 - First Lesson

Chapter 5 - First Lesson

A six storey building stood majestically under the glory of the morning sun.

It was white in color , with a massive inscribed blue star on top of it.

Students were streaming in nonstop, taking the elevators to several floors.

A few hundred feet in front of the building, was a field that stretched into the distance.

Several students could be seen heading towards the six storey building.

The building was obviously the classroom block.

Amongst the students heading towards the classroom block from the massive field were Rodiku and his friends.

They seemed to be having a conversation whiles moving to class.

' ...and you said we won't make it. It's now 6 : 21 am, so we'll have to wait a least thirty minutes before class begins ', Rodiku said with a pride filled look.

' Whatever, I'm not paying a penny ', Jin spoke with a poker face.

' Ehn? What's that supposed to mean, you thief ', Rodiku's eyebrows creased in anger.

' Hahahaha ', Lenox on the other hand, couldn't help but laugh out loud.

The scene playing out before his eyes was a funny one.

Early this morning whiles the trio prepared hastily for school, Jin and Rodiku ended up in a little heated moment.

Jin complained that due to Rodiku being slow in preparation, they would be late for class.

Whiles in the heated moment, Rodiku made a bet with Jin, saying they would be in class with at least thirty minutes to spare.

It seemed impossible, looking at how time was running fast.

Some way somehow, it seems time favored Rodiku.

His exact prediction came to past, and now Jin had to pay up.

The bet was 10,000 rad which Jin could afford.

He was from a very rich and noble family which was known nationwide.

' If you think I'm going to pay 10,000 rad just because you got lucky, then you're dead wrong. Forget it ', Jin continued, still with a poker face.

' Tch! ', Rodiku felt so bullied, knowing he couldn't do anything about it.

' But...', Jin paused before speaking again.

' But, if you are able to beat me in a battle, I'll pay up in ten folds! ', Jin proposed.

' Eh!!? ', both Lenox and Rodiku exclaimed in shock.

' I hope you don't fall for that ', Lenox said, looking straight into Rodiku's eyes.

' Pttf ', Rodiku scoffed, showing that he's not taking the bait.

' No I mean it. If you're ever able to beat me, then you'll be worth more than 100,000 rad. You can count on that ', Jin assured.

Lenox shook his head in a way that said, ' don't fall for it bro. Say no '.

' Fine by me, as long as there's no time limit ', Rodiku completely ignored Lenox and went for it.

After that, their conversation topic changed.

Once they entered the building, they took an elevator to the second floor.

They entered with other first year students as well, so they came out together at the second floor.

They simply had to walk down the corridors, turning left and right at some point to locate their rightful classrooms.

The second floor, which was meant for first year students, had 267 classrooms.

Each class was supposed to have thirty students, which leaves a total of 8,010 first year students.

Both Lenox and Jin had class number 195 whiles Rodiku had class number 200, putting them four rooms away from each other.

Once they reached class 195, Lenox and Jin entered after ending their conversation.

' Remember what I told you. Anyone who scans your SAD would find out that your power level is unknown. They might try to find out why. Just make sure you don't give anyone attention. It'll make them unsure whether to engage you or not ', Jin reminded Rodiku of something they talked about along the way.

' Sure, don't worry. I'll be okay... I hope ', Rodiku muttered.

Now he was moving to class, wearing a look of uninterest and boredom.

That was his usual facial expression before yesterday.

During the course of yesterday, he smiled and had more facial expressions than in his entire life.

It was almost like a different person and not himself.

* SWWEEESHH *

As soon as he stood facing the door which had C - 200 imprinted on it, his SAD gave him access, causing the door to slide into the wall.

As he entered, he noticed there were only about thirteen students in class.

It was a reasonable number since it was now 6 : 28 am.

There was still twenty two minutes left before class begins.

Rodiku noticed that the class was organized five seats in a column and there were six columns, making up thirty.

His SAD quickly assigned him a free seat in the class.

Since others were in class yesterday and had already registered their seats, only the sixth column to the right was left.

His seat was the first seat of the sixth column.

This meant four other students would sit behind him.

Rodiku wasted no time in taking his sit and bringing out his book pad.

The book pad is a flat square transparent screen that contains all the books prescribed for teaching and learning.

Of course, sheet books still existed but a high class school like CSA uses a book pad instead.

After going through today's lessons schedule, he found out the first lesson would be power build.

He also found out that they learned the history about how humans received supernatural abilities from gods and developed themselves.

He decided to read that topic on his own since he was free.

Rodiku went through the entire twenty page topic within ten minutes.

He had captured everything the teacher spent two hours teaching yesterday, all in ten minutes.

And of course, he understood everything he read with no gaps at all.

There were only three lessons per day, with each being two hours.

So that meant, he still had two lessons from yesterday which he missed.

Since class began yesterday, which was Monday, he decided to just even the odds by going through the remaining two lessons.

He had about twenty minutes left before the teacher walks in, and that was all he needed.

He started with the second lessons, which was human civilization.

Just like the first lesson, he only used ten minutes in dissolving everything.

He proceeded to treat the third lesson with the topic, nation building 1.

The third topic was about how humans formed the the system of nations out of the kingdoms which existed.

In the past, every kingdom in the world was independent and had a king as it's head.

But after a few centuries, people began awakening hybrid abilities which were more complex than the original five natural elements humans used to have.

Some hybrid abilities brought about the achievement of technology.

Currently everyone uses a hybrid ability.

Even those who uses natural elements are able to do other things that the elements would normally not be able to.

Then for military power and resources, so many kingdoms united to form nations.

In total, there where twenty nations formed out of the then eighty kingdoms, with each having four kingdoms.

Later on a world war occurred, bringing about further division.

The twenty nations were divided into four, having five nations on each side.

The war was ended after five years.

Then the four alliances were named as the, North nations, South nations, East nations and West nations.

Then the chain of power was crafted, leaving the four world governments who were the heads of the four alliances, as the highest authorities on Earth.

The world governments have been exploiting the good abilities of citizens to climax their development.

That brought about the society where the highly powered triumph over the weak.

The world governments made it such that ability potential grade and rank, determined a person's essence and importance.

Rodiku spent just nine minutes capturing everything under this topic which really grabbed his interest.

After reading, he sat quiet with a look of contemplation on his face.

' And again, authorities are always the cause of problems. They do whatever they want regardless of it's consequences on citizens. If only I was powerful enough ', he thought before checking his time.

' Oh, it's 7 : 00 am on the dot ', he was still watching the time on his SAD when the door slid open.

* SWWEEESHH *

He turned to see who it was even though he already expected it to be the teacher.

The entire class was looking at the entrance at this point, since it was seven already.

That was when Rodiku realized the seats behind him were all occupied, meaning everyone was in.

He must have been too focused on his book pad to have noticed them.

A young man who looked no older than twenty-five walked in.

He had black curly hair and black pupils.

He wore a white long sleeve shirt with green stripes and black trouser.

All in all, he looked ordinary with nothing to admire about him.

' Good morning class ', the teacher greeted.

' Good morning Sir ', a few students responded.

Of course, Rodiku responded.

Not that he wanted to, but he didn't know the nature of this teacher and he wasn't ready to become a scape goat.

* SIGH *

' This is gonna be one boring lesson. A bunch of stuff we already know ', Rodiku muttered in boredom.

' For the sake of those who reported late, I'll introduce myself once more. I am Mr. Inkoy ', the teacher said whiles spelling it on the teaching screen as Mr. Nnkrz.

' Eh? ', everyone on the sixth column was shocked, excluding Rodiku.

' The name is a ra... ', he was explaining further when he was interrupted.

' Ppptf '

' Muahahaha..'

' Hahahaha.. '

' Hehehe...'

' Hihihi... '

' Aaahahaha... '

The entire sixth row burst into laughter.

Well , everyone except Rodiku.

No matter how he looked at it, he just couldn't find the joke in the name.

He was so knowledge filled that he knew the origin and spelling of the name immediately he heard it.

The others thought it was rather a dumb name since the pronunciation and the spelling weren't alike.

What startled Rodiku was why the rest of the class wasn't laughing.

' Do they also know the origin of the name? Naaa, judging by the terrified looks on their faces, I can assume something bad comes out of laughing at the teacher', Rodiku contemplated.

' Hmm, I'm surprised there's one who didn't laugh. I hope we get along ', Mr. Inkoy thought.

Suddenly, his black eyes turned crimson red and his curly black hair turned spiky black and red.

The energy pressure in the room increased greatly, choking most of the students in his presence.

' Nnkrz animation ', the teacher muttered with streaks of red light oozing out of his eyes.

Three minutes later, the entire class was quietly paying attention to Mr. Inkoy.

Some of the students had poker faces, terrified looks and others had conflicted looks.

He had used his special ability to animate illusions of any kind to put the four boys who laughed in several life and death situations ,where they could only be saved by mentioning the name Mr. Inkoy and spelling it as Mr. Nnkrz.

It worked like magic as no one dared complain about the name again.

' It would seem the rest of the class had their share of his wrath yesterday, hm ', Rodiku put two on two to make this discovery.

The teacher kept teaching in a very serene classroom as no one dared cause a scene.

His wrath had been registered into their bodies.

Of course not all of them feared him.

After teaching for one hour thirty minutes, Mr. Inkoy finished with the topic.

So now he decided to summarize everything before they go for break or wait for break.

' Quick summary. Elemental energy is tapped from a non-physical source. They flow through vessels called elemental energy channels ( EECs ). EECs have several layers which resist the energy flow within. The layers can be broken inside out. The breakage of a layer brings about increase in energy flow, which in turn increases the power rank of the individual. That brings about power ranks. We have the falcon rank, echo rank ( 10× F-rank ), delta rank (20× E- rank ), charley rank (30× D- rank ), beta rank (40× C- rank ), alpha rank (50× B- rank ), xeltro rank (100× A- rank ), yield rank ( 1000× X- rank ), zee rank (10,000× Y- rank ), sub parallel immortal rank ( 100,000× Z- rank), parallel immortal rank ( 1,000,000× SPI- rank ) and immortal rank ( immeasurable ). That also brings us to the number of layers an individual is capable of braking. It is measured in elemental potential grade. These are grade F, E, D, C, B, A, X, Y and Z respectively. So the highest rank that could be achieved with a grade- D ability is the delta rank. Sub parallel immortal, parallel immortal and the immortal ranks cannot be achieved with any potential grade. They are universal blessings that are given out randomly, through out the universe by superior forces ( gods ). That marks the end of class. Just sit quietly and wait for the break alarm. Goodbye for now ', Mr. Inkoy quickly summarized and exited the class.

There was no need for questions as it was a general knowledge they all knew of.

In a manner of five minutes, the alarm went off for break.

Everyone started walking out.

' Man, I thought it was going to continue forever. So boring ', Rodiku muttered underneath his breath as he also walked out.

Just as he came out, he saw Jin and Lenox waiting for him.

' Hey, guys ', Rodiku greeted.

' Dude, how was class ', asked Lenox.

' Freaking boring. I was dying to sleep but I didn't want to get on my teacher's bad side ', Rodiku revealed.

Just then, Mr. Inkoy passed by them.

Rodiku was startled by how he just appeared when he was being talked about.

' Good thing I didn't say anything bad about him ', he thought as he stared at the back of Mr. Inkoy.

' Cafeteria? ', Rodiku asked.

' Sure, I'm starving here ', Lenox quickly agreed.

' You foodie ', Jin teased as he took the lead.

The trio walked amidst many other students headed for the first floor.

The year one students had their cafeteria at the first floor.

The classroom block was made in such a way that, every class level has it's cafeteria on the floor below it.

That puts second year students on the fourth floor of the building and the third years on the sixth floor.

The ground floor was for teachers and officials.

They decided to take the stairs down instead of the elevator, for reasons unknown.

In a few, they found themselves in probably the biggest cafeteria in the nation.

It had so many places to sit with so many waiters and waitresses to serve.

As a student, all you had to do was take a sit and place an order.

It was practically a massive restaurant, stretching wide and far.

There were so many empty tables since the number of students at the cafeteria was almost just 2/3 of the original number.

This was because, some students just don't see why they should eat at the cafeteria when they could go out.

Though CSA's first years cafeteria could rival some of the high class restaurants out in the city.
