At the long table, all the food was served warmly. Everything looked delicious but none of it gave Odel an appetite. It was all because of Irene's words that shocked her. Irene said that her grandmother had already arranged an engagement for her. Odel will be married to one of the sons of Doyle's noble lineage.
"Are you kidding me, ma'am? I've never heard of that! I also don't make any agreements regarding this matter! If all this is what my grandmother promised, I won't interfere!" answered Odel.
"But you have no choice, Miss. The agreement has been made, you just have to carry it out. Besides, our bachelors are so handsome, you won't get men as handsome as them anywhere else!" Mrs. Irene answered with a smile.
Odel was silent, she looked at Daffin, Emilio then looked at Clayton.
"Why? Are you starting to decide to marry me?" teased Clayton, who spoke spontaneously when Odel looked at him.
"None sense! Who wants to be with you? I am sorry Mrs. Irene, I think there is a misunderstanding. I am only 17 years old. I still have more goals than marriage! I'm not my grandmother, if my grandmother made the agreement with the Doyle family, she should have married, not me! "I refuse this match," answered Odel, who immediately stood up and walked out of the dining room.
"Miss Odel, where are you going?" called Irene.
"I am sorry, I can't accept all this!" said Odel, walking out of the dining room.
"Where are you going, Mrs Odel?" a familiar voice made Odel have a bad feeling.
Odel looked at the person who was walking towards her. From his clothes and haircut, Odel felt that she knew the man quite well. He was Mr. Baron, his face was even very similar to the scary man in her dream.
Odel immediately stepped back. She was scared. The last time he saw the man in his dream, she remembered that what was in her dream was about an arranged marriage, but what was worse was that there was something she didn't remember about the ending of her dream.
"It looks like you still remember me, the fear is very clear on your face," said Baron, who continued to walk closer.
Odel ran into the dining room, everyone in the room stood up when the man named Baron entered.
"What's this? I've seen you in my dreams! Get away from me!" Odel shouted in fear.
"You are unique, even though I erased your memory at that time. But I'm sorry, I won't let you leave this place! All this is your destiny, you are the chosen girl!" said the man.
"Selected? What do you mean, are you all bad people? You guys are planning to kidnap me in this place! Do not come close! I will scream!" said Odel.
Baron was silent, he sat on the dining chair and started using plates.
"Calm down Miss, you don't need to be hysterical like that!" said Baron.
Seeing Baron sit down and start eating, Odel felt it was a good opportunity for her to run. The girl immediately took the opportunity to run towards the exit. But before ten meters the black shadow had stopped in front of her. Odel choked, and she saw Emilio in front of her.
There was no sound of footsteps from him, the man seemed to float quickly and blocked her right in front of her. Odel, who was shocked, fell backwards, her legs went weak, and she was scared.
At that moment, all her memories began to open. On the first day when she woke up, she had met the Baron. None of that was a dream! The man who claimed to be a family lawyer clearly said that she would become the bride of one of the men from the family who was bound by an agreement with her grandmother. But one thing she just remembered, was that had family was not a human family, but a vampire family.
"You vampires!" Odel said stammeringly.
"Yes exactly, welcome to the Doyle family castle, Odel!" Emilio answered.
"Will you prey on me? I'm so young! Please, let me go!" said Odel, starting to beg.
"Let you go? How could it be, Miss! You are the chosen girl we have been waiting for a thousand years!" Daffin answered.
"You are the wrong person! I'm not the chosen girl, please let me go!" Odel asked.
Clayton approached, and suddenly the man was right next to Odel.
"Unfortunately, you are the chosen girl! I even saw a special birthmark on your neck. That's why you have to be my bride!" Clayton whispered.
The man's face was very close. This time the reddish glow in his brown eyes was really visible. Not because of the reflection of the lights, but this time Odel knew that the man's eyes could indeed glow red.
"Vampire!" shouted Odel, who immediately was shocked and fainted.
Clayton caught Odel's limp and collapsed body. With a sigh, the man began to grumble.
"Gosh, he fainted again!"
"How is it this time? Do we need to erase his memory again?" Baron asked.
"No, she must be able to face reality!" Clayton answered.
"Take your hands off her body! She fainted because of you! You shouldn't be that close!" said Daffin, who wanted to take Odel from Clayton.
Clayton's red eyes lit up even more when Daffin tried to snatch Odel from his hands. All of these are signs that Clayton didn't want anyone to disturb him.
"What's wrong with you? Do you want to challenge me to a fight?" asked Deffin, looking mad.
"Stop it! Samantha, help me!" said Irene, trying to calm down the situation.
Clayton handed Odel to Samantha and Irene, then he left everyone behind.
"Damn, did you see that, Emilio? He even looked at me like he was looking at an enemy! Are you sure he is also a Doyle?" said Daffin, looking annoyed.
"Did you forget Clayton's character? He's rude. But compared to you, he is indeed much stronger!" said Emilio.
"Hey, are you insulting me? Do you think you are stronger than him?"
"I think I'm better than him!" Emilio replied, not wanting to lose.
"Nonsense!"
"Never mind, Clayton is gone, let's go back for a meal. Irene, already prepare a warm juicy blood!" invited Emilio.
"You're right, a meal without him would be much more enjoyable," answered Daffin, chuckling.
The two male vampires who were initially arguing began to look friendly and ate together. They even enjoyed fresh blood served in a crystal jug on the table. Unlike the two of them, Clayton was seen entering his room. He was indeed different from the other two men. He is more solitary and much more vicious than other vampires.
"Shit! Why do I have to compete with those two losers? As the grandson of the first descendant, I should be the one who has the right to get that girl! Huh," Clayton started to grumble.
The vampire family of the Doyle aristocrats did have many sons. Clayton is the first grandson of the first child of the Doyle lineage. He is the strongest grandson of the first generation, he can finish off enemies without mercy and doesn't care about the rules of the vampire nation.
However, there was one thing he really wanted. A vampire's heirloom sword, a legendary sword, is an heirloom of the vampires. The sword is kept by the vampire elders and will only be passed down to a selected vampire, a vampire who will later become the future leader of the vampires.
The legend about the greatness of the sword made Clayton want it, but because of the actions of a human wizard, the sword was sealed. For a thousand years, the sword was just like a stone. According to the prophecy, there will be a virgin girl from the human race who is a descendant of the witch. The vampire who wants to have the vampire sword must marry the chosen girl. Their union will be the key to unlocking the vampire sword and whoever can use the vampire's heirloom sword will become the vampire leader in the future.
"Bullshit legend! Why should I marry a human girl? I've been good to her, but she's cursing me! Sucks! Her screams were ear-piercing, especially since she was so scared! "I want to suck her blood until it's all gone," grumbled Clayton in his room.
The vampire man actually still doubted the authenticity of the thousand-year-old myth, but the birthmark on the back of Odel's neck made him start to believe that the girl did indeed hold the key to the mystery of the vampire's inheritance.
"The girl's birthmark is exactly the same as the mark on the hilt of the heirloom sword! Luckily, I had seen that sword with my father. Daffin, Emilio! Do you think it's easy to compete with me? Don't dream!" said Clayton, who still couldn't accept it because he had to compete with two of his cousins who he thought were lousy.
The vampire man locked himself in his pitch-black room. He was a vampire who really liked the dark and preferred to sleep during the day. For Clayton, a vampire who wanders around during the day is a silly vampire.
In another room, precisely where Odel was, Irene and Samantha laid Odel on the bed while looking at her.
"Poor human girl!" said Irene.
"Poor? I think she's a lucky human girl. "Three handsome men from vampire circles are her fiancé. If I were her I would marry all of them," said Samantha.
"You flirtatious girl! They are all your masters, how dare you think like that!" said Irene, smacking her junior's head.
The girl laughed, and she jogged, leaving Irene out of Odel's room.
"You young vampire girl! Her thoughts are so wild!" Irene muttered, laughing.
Irene looked back at Odel, she looked at the human girl carefully.
"She will definitely be hysterical after she wakes up, but never mind, like it or not, she has to be able to overcome all her fears. "She is the chosen girl who will become the wife of a vampire noble," muttered Irene, who finally left Odel in the room.
About an hour later, Odel fainted, as before, she woke up in the same bed short of breath. But different from before, this time she had a complete memory of what happened to her that day.
"Vampire! This place is the castle of the vampires, I have to get out of here!" Odel muttered.
The girl immediately took off her long dress, she wore short jeans and a T-shirt which was much more comfortable to wear. She put all the remaining money in his pocket and started looking for a hole in the window that she could get through. However, after she opened the window of her room, she realized that she was on the highest floor in the castle.
The position of the bedroom window is 30 meters from the ground. Apart from that, all the windows are installed with iron bars at a narrow distance, similar to a prison, so you can be sure that Odel can't get out of anywhere.
"This is terrible! I'm locked up! They must have locked this room!" said Odel, walking and trying to open the door.
But different from what she thought, the door to her room was not locked. Odel was easily able to get out, but she immediately ran away sneakily. She looked towards the stairs and there was no one there.
"Good!"
Not wasting the opportunity, the girl immediately went down the stairs slowly. Her steps were small, so no one came out to stop her. Downstairs she managed to see the exit, but she quickly hid behind the curtains when she heard the sound of a maid passing by.
The waiters were Irene and Samantha, but they didn't realize that Odel was there. They continued talking and left the place.
After feeling safe, Odel began to sneak up again to reach the front door. The door that will lead her to freedom. Slowly and as quietly as possible, the girl began to open it. She could see the sunlight brightly enough. Her eyes felt quite dazzled because the light in the house was very minimal.
Odel immediately came out, she ran towards the yard. She saw some people working in the fields and some busy with livestock. They didn't pay attention to Odel, which made it easy for her to run into the street. But she couldn't find a vehicle, the street was empty and, as far as the eye could see, there was only one big, scary house there. A woman with a fat body walked from the opposite direction carrying a basket full of eggs. Odel felt sure that the woman was human, and she wanted to ask her.
"Wait, Maam! How do I get to the city center?" asked Odel.
Hearing Odel's voice, the woman stopped walking. She turned her head and looked at the girl with a blank look.
"Did you hear me? I want to know where the city center is. Can you show me? Please!" Odel asked again.
The woman didn't answer, she just started sniffing with quite a scary expression. From a close distance, Odel began to see that the woman's teeth were very black, her eyes were empty, and worse, there were bite marks on her neck.
Odel began to swallow hard, she began to believe that the woman in front of her was one of the humans who had been devoured by the vampires in the castle. Odel started to back away, but the woman threw her egg basket on the ground and started walking towards Odel with a grin.
Not wanting to take the risk, Odel immediately ran as fast as she could, and sure enough, the woman who had been walking slowly immediately chased her.
Odel screamed. She was afraid because it was possible that the human woman who had been preyed on by the vampire would also prey on her. But unexpectedly, the woman ran quite fast. She ended up tripping over a rock and fell down.
"No! Clayton! Help me!" shouted Odel.
Incomprehensible what Odel was thinking, she was much more afraid of the woman who looked like a zombie vampire than the man who was clearly a real vampire. Odel's legs hurt so much, she couldn't move her legs, but in the middle of the road, the strange woman ran very fast and was ready to pounce on her.
Odel couldn't do anything, she just screamed and covered her eyes with her palms.
"Human! Stop!" shouted a man in a loud shout.
Odel started to open her eyes, she peeked and saw the strange woman returning to her place. She took her basket again and went to the plantation area as before. One problem had passed, but Odel knew that right behind her a man in a black shirt was standing watching her.
"Do you think it's easy to escape from this place?" he said and started giggling.
Odel turned around, clasped her hands, and started begging.
"Mr. Clayton! I know you are a good vampire, please let me go! I'm still very young, I'm an orphan, and my blood is also very bitter. Sucking my blood won't make you full. I'm not the chosen girl you guys are talking about! Please let me go! I beg you!" said Odel pleadingly.
The cold-faced man looked at her, he snorted and began to lower his body to grab Odel's jaw.
"What a shame, you are indeed the chosen girl! Even your birthmark says it all!" Clayton answered.
"Mr. Clayton, I don't want to be a zombie-like them. I beg you to give me a chance to live! I will work hard in the human world and make a lot of money. I will send my treasure to pay for my freedom, I beg you!" Odel asked once again.
"If that is the case, marry me, choose me, let me get the inheritance I want, then I will let you go!" Clayton whispered.
Odel looked at Clayton. She seemed doubtful, but what Clayton had just said seemed to give her hope.
"Miss Odel!" shouted Samantha as she ran out of the house.
Not only Samantha, there was also Mrs. Irene and two male vampires immediately darted closer to Odel.
"Miss. Odel, what are you doing here, let's go in!" invited Samantha to help Odel stand up.
"Clayton! What did you do to her?" Daffin asked.
"Why did you hurt her," said Emilio, seeing Odel's bleeding knee.
"She just fell! She's going to run away! I was just trying to stop her!" replied Clayton.
"Gosh! Fresh, human blood!" said Samantha, who immediately stood still seeing red liquid coming out of Odel's knee.
The girl's eyes turned red as if the smell of Odel's blood was attracting her wild nature.
"Samantha! Watch your attitude!" shouted Irene, who immediately chased her junior away.
"Good grief! I'm sorry Mrs Irene!"
Seeing that Odel was injured, Emilio immediately tore his shirt and squatted down to tie Odel's wound.
"Excuse me, Miss Odel! "I'll help you," said the man, who immediately lowered himself to tie the cloth around Odel's feet.
"Leave me alone, I can do it," answered Odel, who immediately covered the wound with her hand.
"Don't be afraid, I'm not the same as Samantha. A little human blood won't make me a beast!" said Emilio, smiling kindly.
"Why are you wearing clothes to bandage wounds? Use my handkerchief, Miss Odel, it's still clean!" Daffin said.
Once again, Odel couldn't say anything, not because three handsome men were fighting over her. But because everyone there is a blood-sucking vampire.
"I'm sorry, just leave me alone, I beg you!" said Odel, who was hobbling along, helped by Irene. The girl leaves, leaving the three vampire men standing watching her.
"Your flirting is stale, she won't want cheap flirting!" mocked Clayton with a disdainful smile.
"You think you're better, huh!" Daffin answered.
"That's the fact," replied Clayton, who immediately turned into a black shadow and sped away quickly, leaving the two of them to enter the house.
"He sure is annoying!" Emilio said.
"What do you think he did just now? Did he steal a start?" Daffin guessed.
"I don't know, but whatever happens, don't let him get Odel!" replied Emilio, who seemed to have a plan to hinder Clayton.
